Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Not sure why Huybrechts is there ahead of VvdV or Michael Smith, both are better players imo and much less infuriating to watch. Huybrechts has a nine darter of a missus though

Huybrechts is going to be a cracking player IMO, getting top class opposition week in week out could move him up a few levels.
VdV has been in the PDC for ages and only proved how inconsistent he is. He could go out 1 night & throw about 100+ and the next night 75-80! He's not got the class for the PL.
Smith I think this year is too soon for him. He's a young lad with loads of time for the PL in future. He seems to suffer mentally when things are not going his way so the last thing we want to see is him thrown into the PL, having a disaster and really struggling to comeback from it, ala Webster.

Its really too early to say considering this years tournament hasn't even started :D

He's usually got the consistency but don't think his style or profile suit what they want in the PL. His games are sometimes hard to get excited about....but others have got in who would be considered in the same way. Some "crowd favorites" have got in or been considered but what makes them a crowd favorite...a popular walk on song seems to be enough for VDV to be close to getting in.

Depends how he does this year? If he gets to later stages(semis) of few tournaments or a final or 2 it will shove him up the rankings and put him in contention.

If it all went on style or profile then Wade wouldn't be within an asses roar, excellent player and yeah extremely successful but god i find him boring as hell!

Dolan would make the Irish and Scottish legs even more unbearable for the English i think!

    6-6!

Its great to see Wade back in the PL, I said when he was dropped last year it was the kick in the hole he needed to get himself together. Now he's back and looking like he was never away.

Cracking first night of the PL, gonna be a great season with the players on show.

He has used bullet in the gun more in the past tbf. He's only recently switched to surfing bird

I was referring more to the whole lois griffin bird with him. I wish he just stuck to the original song he came out to "bullet in the gun"
I must be the only person in the world who thinks he looks nothing like peter griffin.

Either way, great start for him and great to see Wade back

thought some of the games were very poor to be honest

anderson - taylor had some awfull darts, never really got going, both players bit off
course according to sky hype youd swear it was a belter
anderson has gone from loosing games he should win easy to winning games he should loose
great to see! when your luck is in thats how it goes

 What? Were you watching a different channel or something?

3 out of 5 games the winner had 100+ average, Chizzy lowest winning average of the night on 94, Wade & Bunting both 95 but with few near big 100+ checkouts.

I thought it was a great first night and hope the rest of the league nights are as good or better, especially as couple of players were making their debut and have probably never played in front of such a big crowd(11500 I think they said). Only player I'm disappointed in is Wright, Barney can do one as I've made my feelings towards him known in the past.

lewis ,mvg were unreal last night, huybrects was very good, chizzy didnt need to turn up

my opinion man, exciting matches is what i want:D
high averages over short format doesnt mean there were great matches
two 7-1 victories hardly makes a great match, wright was poor, lewis blew barney away, mvg won well if truth be told
for players of these standards averaging 100 over 10 legs is not exceptional

in 2005 they had 800 in stoke
    last night 11500 in leeds
says how far darts has come

which is fine....I just really don't understand how you can come to that opinion
each to their own n sure if we all agreed there would be f**k all point of a discussion forum now wouldn't there? :D

Personally I would prefer two players average low 90's and it being a close game than one player with an average in the 100's and winning easy. A 7-1 win is not a good game, in fact it's pretty boring. Give me a close match every time.

you could have a close match with 85/90 average but it would be awful to watch

Generally BDO games have averages around there but that doesn't mean that they aren't entertaining.

    Night Two, Thursday February 12
    BIC, Bournemouth
    Peter Wright v Gary Anderson
Michael van Gerwen v Stephen Bunting
    Adrian Lewis v Phil Taylor
    James Wade v Kim Huybrechts
Dave Chisnall v Raymond van Barneveld

After Taylor's little strop recently about being too old to play the last game he's handed the middle game of the night :/ Any other year this would have been last match as its (on paper) the best matchup of the night.

Would have been second last I'd say. The main game of the night is usually the second last match

Yeah the main game is usually second last on. Taylor should not be given any preferential treatment, it should be a level playing field for all players.
