Ok. This is what I need and I think AF can help me.

Out there,,,, somewhere,,, there is a TV show that has a theme song / intro song that is either or similar to Layla by Derek and the Dominos

The opening few seconds. That amazing guitar !!

But I can't remember it, and it's annoying me.

I know it's not Goodfellas as i'm sure a simple google will find that.

I'm not saying the song is Layla - but it's very very close to the guitar into.

The TV show I think its linked to is a car show or something thats not a TV Drama/Soap series. I'm guessing the TV show would be from late 80's-90's

Can anyone help me find this?

As I said the TV would be from late 80s to 90s. But I'm not sure the last time I heard it.

We heard Layla by Derek and the Dominos on TV the other day and was like... what is the TV show thats from.. we couldn't find it.

Thats why i think the song might not by Layla by Derek and the Dominos but something like it.. and my searching for Layla wouldn't bring up the TV show.

Talk about a needle in a haystack.

Nothing sounds like Layla.

Well, apart from that piano bit in Billy Joel's Moving Out, and that wasn't a theme tune that I'm aware of.

Just because the instrument ensemble in the theme from the show you remember resembles the ensemble used on Layla, it doesn't follow that it sounds like it.

I'm trying to think outside the box (excuse the pun). Does anyone remember the "A car/chopper/bike is born" tv programme by Mark Evans on Discovery channel. I think there was a good few of them and they all had a different rock guitar song at the beginning. I've checked a few to no avail.. I will keep checking..
