Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

epg is 7 days . less crashing and more stable for recording etc than enigma 2 which is what i use it for

all the latest stuff in in my utilities dropbox i posted earlier

i will load a new database on Sunday

quick question on the 7 day epg - is this for both saorview and satellite channels?
previously it was 7 days for saorview but just 'now and next' for satellite?

    Thanks!

the Crossepg 0.62 works for satellite on spark aswell it loads from your internet connection whenever you wish

and is has full 7 day epg when loaded up

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,779 ✭✭✭Carawaystick

How do I install the database and oscam?

I've unzipped them and coppied the folders onto a usb key,

Spark has had a 7 day EPG on both Satellte and Saorview for at least 18months now. Probably longer.

Crossepg processes the EPG data that is delivered through your dish to the receiver via a satellite radio station called "EPG Background Audio".

Just recently when my daughter is on YouTube, using an iphone through same wireless connection as the amiko, the tv flicks over and starts playing whatever she is on the tv??!!
Anyone know how to fix this?
And if I WANTED this to happen does it only work with YouTube only and not any streaming for example??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,802 ✭✭✭Apogee

I've upgraded to the latest version of Spark and have been trying to get the inbuilt CrossEPG working. When I test downloading EPG data via OpenTV (via satellite), the plugin starts reading the channels, but then stalls at 175KB when reading the titles.

OK, seemed to have resolved above by storing the EPG Background Audio channel.

When configuring, I can only see HDD or Internal Flash - how do I mount a USB stick in Spark?

I can force it to download data over the net via XEPGDB which does populate the data for the individual channels. But when I press OK to see what's on now for all channels, most show 'no info' i.e. the now and next data has not been processed correctly.

    Any suggestions welcome!

select hdd drive as that is your usb i use a 1tb exentsion drive

once you connect your drive to the box on spark it automatically mounts it, in menu select file list and you can see whats on your hdd

i have mine formatted to Ntfs

when you have it set up and when set up click download now and itl take a few minutes and will load 7 days epg

Sounds like you have AirPlay installed on your Amiko.

Sounds like you have AirPlay installed on your Amiko.
or is it just from the phone to the tv ?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 372 ✭✭GoodisonPark

AirPlay is running on the Amiko so whatever is played on the iPhone will come up on the TV.

  • Registered Users Posts: 396 ✭✭Imstuck

Where would I find airplay on Amiko? It is just from phone to tv btw. Funnily though, it only happens with her phone which is the only one which doesn't have airplay on it. (Iphone4)

Thanks to all for your help, all sorted now, airplay was indeed on. This damn box can do a lot more than I thought!!

Always been a bit hit and miss my epg has, however this last few days my now and next has been full and upto date. Now though, the tv hasn't been on all day and it is only currently showing me what was on at 3 pm this afternoon, and scrolling to the right doesn't take me to what is on for the rest of the day like it was doing a few days ago.
Is this just the norm and put up with it, or is there an easy fix?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,695 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

it can stick if you removed the usb . u can reboot and it will reset better

ur better getting a dedicated usb / extension drive and leaving it connected

  • Registered Users Posts: 396 ✭✭Imstuck

Forget most of that previous post, on HDD folder I have 0bytes used in my cross epg, how can this be? Have just downloaded it, says to hdd device in settings, and is configured ntfs.

HDD is permanantly attached to box, it's a real headscratcher!!

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,695 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

reboot using the switch at back and hit download now in the menu

once u have the 3 providers selected it should work

check its going to hdd might be saved on your box

It's set to HDD above where I have it to download in false standby, but in system-pvr/hdd settings, HDD format it says (at the bottom) RAM disk does not support formatting or partition manage!
    Could this be a problem?

    no mine says the same

format your usb again there to Ntfs and try

I'm a tad rusty on Spark as I only use Enigma2 which is a million times better.
I've even got an Alien3 box which runs Spark2 and that comes nowhere close to Enigma2.

IIRC go to menu - system - HDD and format to Ext3

    whats spark 2 like so

  • Registered Users Posts: 396 ✭✭Imstuck

In HDD format file system says ntfs, yet when I press partition manage, system will sometimes say HPFS/NTFS, and sometimes it will say Linux. When trying to format it to either ntfs or ext3 it fails, and then on exiting hdd format, the options below of speed testing, time shift setting etc go blank so I any able to selct them

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,695 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

format the usb on your laptop and put it back in

    It's totally different.
Has some nice features like built in android , xbmc etc.
nice AirMouse , Spark2 app for smartphones just like SkyGo , stream from your box anywhere.
    Have a look http://amiko-a3.com

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 5,695 Mod ✭✭✭✭Nowso

theres a spark app on ordinary spark aswell

if the usb is damaged it may not work i have some of them plastic sandisk usbs thet break a little and now are not totally reliable to use

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 372 ✭✭GoodisonPark

    I'm still testing the box.
It's a bit raw at the moment , ie enhanced software is limited but slowly becoming available. Does run well and the processor is extremely fast. I think it will retail around the same price as the Amiko 8900 and if it does it will be extremely good value.

Thanks for the reply. I had tried what you outlined above, but there are still blanks in the 'now and next' when I press OK to see what's currently broadcast across all channels.

it wont show up on other transponders until you tune onto that transponder it should settle down after a bit . if it dont update some days just do the manual download now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,802 ✭✭✭Apogee

Yeah, it seems a small bit hit and miss. When I do the equivalent download with CrossEPG on Enigma, the EPG is fully populated straight away. Looks like CrossEPG on spark needs a little more tweaking.

just hit download now every so often and it will update. it still works

if a scan dont work or something simular just reboot

once you get used to spark it runs easily and is s lot more stable than enigma2

people get hung up on enigma 2 as it is meant to resemble sky

Try changing your time settings to NET rather than Satellite and then download/force EPG update.
