Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A warehouse and a fulfilment centre can be two different things. That article just confirms they are opening a warehouse.

I hope they are opening a fully functioning fulfilment centre but I haven't seen that confirmed anywhere other than another poster here claiming they are trialing it. I have Prime so would love actual next day delivery and I'm getting fed up of all the random stuff they refuse to deliver here.

Ordered an Item at 8.40 PM on Tuesday evening and it was delivered at 7.15 AM this morning , I am 80 miles or so from Dublin ! Not much more than 30 hours

OK thought fulfilling orders from a warehouse made it a fulfillment centre.

so you think they will have warehouse sitting there? what do you think they'll do with the stock in the warehouse? perhaps they may actually fullfill orders....

Interested in the eero system but wondering if someone can help me with a question. I have a Virgin Media package (the latest small white router) and fund the wifi to be terrible. So I'm using TP Link Powerline adaptors. These claim to boost the wifi but I don't see any difference. However, they are useful to get a wired connection to my Desktop and NAS in my home office.

If I bought the mesh system, could I disable the wifi function of the TP Link devices and just use them for wired devices and then use eero for wifi boosting / meshing?

    Thanks!

Can be, but it doesn't appear they are. I've ordered 3 times in the past month and the delivery is much quicker. They're fulfilling orders from it dude.

I’m not au fait with eero but any mesh that I’ve looked into has Ethernet ports on each of the units. I’d be using them if possible rather than the TP Link

If they are doing that then great, I was just pointing out that them building a warehouse is no guarantee that it will be used as as fulfilment centre or that we are getting Prime in Ireland.

If it is to be used like that then if we don't get full prime I at least hope they will improve the range of stock that can be delivered here. Lots of electronics (tvs, monitors etc.) can't be delivered here which is really annoying as going through PM/PW is out due to size.

I was bit behind with firestick, iptv and all that

Last week himself went to bed early because he said he has too much choice on the TV now and couldn't choose 😆
The only sub we pay now is for a vpn, for security obviously

Have you any links or videos to get an understanding ? I've got an iptv app loaded onto my TV but struggling to find an iptv sub or whatever is needed.

If you get a Firestick get an app on your phone called Apps2Fire. It lets you send apps downloaded from Google Play store to your Firestick. Also download the Fire TV app so you can turn your phone into a remote and can type in things.

Could you theoretically download sky go and send it to the firestick?

I used to have TP-Link powerline adapters too and they’d keep disconnecting and I’d have to go through a long process of reconnecting them again.

Saw a great deal on the Deco M5s and picked them up to give it a go... haven’t looked back since. Powerline adapters are long gone and M5s have replaced them... pretty much faultless. Full connection around the house (2 floors) and even as far as the back garden too. WiFi and Ethernet, both exact same performance-wise and they’ve a handy little thing about them where if one deco loses connection, it’ll reconnect based off of the other two. Well worth the money, a nice and easy app to control them too.

But they don't work with sky q boxes apparently.

I don't have Sky Q and I've just ordered some M4's, don't even have them yet, so take what I say with a huge grain of salt.

But I thought you could set one up beside the sky box and connect it by ethernet cable?

I’ve just downloaded the Remote for Firestick App but I can’t seem to connect the Remote. Keeps asking me to purchase which I’ve done (get confirmation)

I can do a cast of video from my phone but can’t use the phone as remote.

    You what’s going wrong?

I think that might be a different one. The one I have is just Fire TV app.

I had some issues previously with the wifi connection on it, the signal was interfering with the box I think, but Ethernet works perfectly now. Wifi signal is so strong anyway, doesn’t really matter too much where you place it.

Money burning a hole in my pocket.

Amazon UK customers always at the -1h disadvantage there, given that most warehouse items are shared between all of their European stores. Last time I checked, all the items I was looking for were all gone long before the 20% discount kicked in on co.uk. Still, they tend to have more warehouse stock of selected items that are either very popular or very unpopular. :D

What are the chances of successfuly ordering something late on the wednesday evening if my wages hit the account early Thursday morning?

I think they try a few times for the payment, I don't think they wait long on BF before trying for it

They try for a few days if they can't take it. Can be handy if you not sure if you want something or or not. I use revolute and just top it up if I want to buy it.

Expecting big discounts on the current 3rd gen dots or them bundled in for free with stuff to get rid of stock. The 4th Gen a due for release about a week later so they will look to get rid of stock.

The console wont be discounted. I have never seen the console on a discount since it came out to be honest. However they do decent bundles with games/accessories so you may be able to get a decent deal.

Depends on items - for some they try for 5 days , others they cancel them immediately.

Main discounts are Amazon own brand items like Echo, Fire Stick, Ring items, Hue items.

I generally but a few Philips Hue kits on discount to gift for Xmas. People love them.

Black Friday last year was absolute rubbish offers.
Amazon actually had some decent offers in the weeks before but there were hardly any decent offers for the Black Friday week.

I think all I bought was a Logitech MX2 mouse.

Today (Sunday) I experienced what seems to be the new fast delivery service by Amazon.

On the Amazon order page, when clicking on the delivery tracking I could see the location of the driver on a map, while he was approaching for delivering my order (map was also displaying how many stops before arriving to my place).

There seems to be a number of drivers recruited for that reason:

    Fair play.

‘Cause recently I’ve found their delivery times are gone to the dogs. As in missing the date by 3 or 4 days.
Probably An Post’s fault more than Amazon, but still.

Is prime day usually good for laptop offers?

Desperately need a new one - I’m not a gamer but want something that has decent Ram, hard drive and is good for generally browsing and day to day activities

Debating whether to go with an existing offer or wait for prime day

    Appreciate inputs, cheers

Ok, apologies if this has been covered already, have not read all the thread thus far.

Been considering buying a couple of Nintendo switch bundles for Santa presents (before any potential madness sets in), just wondering if I should hold off, or do folk think prime day will be for Amazon products only?

Its mainly big discounts on their own stuff but there are discounts/bundles on other stuff too. You could hold off till next month for Black Friday/Cyber Monday but I dont see massive differences in discounts/bundles on offer.

For laptops, I would wait for Black Friday/Cyber Monday as they are across all retailers and more competition means better prices.

Have seen suggestions online that given the significantly different form factor of the 4th gen dots that the 3rd may be retained for a while to coexist alongside it. If there's any truth to that I wouldn't assume the discounts you may be hoping for.

I have seen 3rd gen dots go for 50% off in previous non prime day sales which happen every 3 months or so. So it will be same or cheaper this time around.

I have seen them for as low as 14.99 at times also bundled with stuff or free with Hue stuff.
