Oh I dont think it could go ahead later in the year. Just wondering could that potentially be the reason for organisers not cancelling it over 4 weeks out. Will probably be cancelled over next few weeks though.

    Cancelled this morning.

I read the last few pages and can't see any news on Longitude for this year. Any update?

    Suppose it's something at least

Knowing our luck there will end up being cases from these events. Anyway staying positive and it would be a massive lift if these are successful in regards coming to the end of the year

That'd still be 1500 to 2000 at some GAA grounds, maybe a couple hundred at LOI, but it's a start.

Oh definitely. Anything to get crowds at matches and gigs tbh is welcome.

Longitude has been postponed till 2022

Longitude has been postponed till 2022

Different to other festival rescheduling/postponements, as Longi, has been effectively cancelled for 2021, rather than a rescheduling or postponed to 2022. So everyone who bought online gets automatic refunds, no tickets for 2021 can be carried over to 2022.

    Longitude gone.
    Automatic refunds being issued.

Not allowed to link it as new user.

Paid out 968 euro for 4 tickets for Longitude. Will get that back now. Add that to the cashback I got from Ulster Bank Ufirst account, I should be up about 250 euro.

It's cancelled, not postponed. Ticketmaster refunds will issue within 7 days.

It might be that, this relates to tickets bought for a 2020 festival, but now won’t be happening until 2022, and was already postponed once before.

Different to other gigs that can be moved maybe 6 months out, this one can only be moved out 1 year, and its the second time it would have happened, so it would be considered unreasonable to postpone again, if they had done that, it would be a 2.5 year time line, between ticket purchased and actual event taking place.

It was cancelled in 2020 and refunded also.

I am happy it is cancelled and not rescheduled. Most attendees at Longitude are 16/17 year old kids.

Could be. Just hadn't heard of too many other yearly summer festivals doing it but could be a demographic thing alright!

Its more a licensing thing. which is why nearly all events last year simply postponed til this summer their schedule and did again this summer.
nothing to do with demographics attending

    Interesting quote from this

'According to the Irish Sun, Electric Picnic organisers are preparing for the possibility that the music festival might be allowed to go ahead if only Irish acts are involved.

The publication cited a source as saying that Festival Republic has been told to prepare for Electric Picnic to get the green light, although international acts would not be permitted due to current restrictions on touring'

If that's true a lot of Irish gigs by international artists set for September/possibly October may be postponed/cancelled

At the end of the day all these articles are pure guesswork

Melvin Benn is the biggest bull****ter going.
I wouldnt believe a word out of his mouth.

There is no chance of Electric Picnic going ahead this Sept.
