I felt like things can't get better from hear after world 1, then I played 2.1 and 2.2 and boy its unbelievable..

Well, I've had a fairly stressful day today. Threw on the VR and played 2-2 of Astrobot.... and the stress was gone. I just sat there for a while enjoying the scenery and then playing it, it somehow became more epic. It's such a pity that only VR owners will get a chance to experience this.

I find sometime the screen isn’t perfectly clear, is that cause I haven’t been wearing my glasses or is it prob headset settings?

If I don't wear my glasses, it's the same as not wearing them in real life, I will have blur. But something to get used to is to look with your head. VR doesn't track your eyes, so if you use your eyes to look away from centre, it can be blurry. Move your head rather than your eyes.

Anybody know where you can get those move controllers at a decent price ? A pack of them on amazon costs over £150, is that the normal price?

Theres an Iron Man VR pack with the moves available for pre order for €95 on Smyths. Due to be released early July if you can wait.

Great interview with Iron Man devs.

I can wait, that’s a great deal, thanks for letting me know.

Pistol whip out at the end of July.
Jaysus I'll be inside for the entire summer!

I'm going to give Dirt Rally a go in VR later. Competing in the Monte Carlo driving a Group B monster will be a challenge for sure.

Pistol Whip looks interesting. Superhot meets Beat Saber. I'm in!

So I've mostly been playing Astrobot but can anyone tell me if this kind of game helps build up resistance to motion sickness or am i better off doing short bursts of resi 7? Just trying to figure out the best way to prepare for walking dead and iron Man when i get the moves in July.

And any idea how long it takes to build resistance or is it completely dependent on the person? Like how long were you playing resi 7 before you were 'comfortable'?

There is a lot of movement in it so it would help!
Personally I found firewall with its quick burst play great. 10mins in the lobby 1 in game

Any time spent in VR will build tolerance - your brain has to separate what it expects your physical body to be doing compared to what it sees on a screen in front of it. It took me about 4-5 days with maybe 2 hours playtime a day to push through it - once you do you’ll be smooth motioning with the best of them :)

I played resi 7 about day 4/5 and had no problems - apart from the overall creepiness and unsettling feeling of it haha

Also as coolisin said, short burst or rounds of firewall will help too. It’s all about the separation and once your brain realises that it isn’t reality and shouldn’t expect your body to move in the same way you’ll be grand

I'll have to keep a watchout for Firewall. I've seen it bundled with the aim controller which I can also use with Farpoint.

Thanks lads, just the info I was looking for. I started world 5 of Astrobot last night so will finish that out and go back to Resi 7 to see the difference then.

Prey, which I thought was a decent game a few years back, looks like it could be getting a VR update.

This could be interesting - I’ve had it sitting in the stack for a while but a VR mode could definitely change that. And let’s not forget it does have one of the most banging intro tunes ever....

So is the Days of Play Sale still going ahead tomorrow?... Will we expect more VR titles to go on sale?.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,283 ✭✭✭✭Potential-Monke

I don't see anything anywhere saying it's cancelled. They might not be as into advertising it maybe, but can't see why cancelling it would make any difference.

Don't want to be that guy, but, same as real life! But I have astigmatism, so my contacts are about 30-50% more expensive than normal ones, so it would drive the cost of VR gaming up!

Sale is starting to show up on PSPrices.com. More will show as the day goes on.

And I do believe I saw Eagle Flight in there for around $7

I've got dailies that I use for boot camp, but since that isn't happening at the moment figure I'll try them out. When adjusting the headset I keep hitting the glasses.
Will try them out and see how I get on

This time last year: Why is it all VR stuff getting discounted?!?
Now: Why is VR stuff not getting more discounts?

I like the Room games but they're short games so wouldn't be willing to pay 20.99 for it.

Just gave it a bash for like 10mins or so, all cutscenes are 2D, I love borderlands so if your a fan I'd buy it..

Won't properly get playing it for a while I reckon..

Borderlands is Borderlands!!! You get do kinda get used to the cutscenes.
Id barley played them the other games, so I was coming to this fairly fresh, it is really good, personally i preferred the Moves over the Aim controller when I was playing it.
Think i was constantly getting Aim drift so it was annoying me.

To recommend a couple cheap AIM games:
Crisis VRigade, its great but really hard and really unforgiving.
Honor and Duty D-Day, online pretty much only and you need to hit that at correct times of the day.
But the AIM works a treat in both of them.

Is the servers pretty much dead for Honor and Duty then?..

Anyone tried Farpoint MP? Is it only 1v1 matches?.. I might try convince mate to buy it on store if its good

They can be dead enough! Usually 7/8pm GMT you get a crowd on. But they have only started cross play with PC so you'd hope it gets busy. Alot of fun, but it was only at launch was it crazy busy

Is firewall worth jumping into with a dualshock or should I wait until I have an aim controller? Picked it up for free on PS Plus a while ago.

I thought Doom VFR was superb with the Aim controller.

Interested in Borderlands but I reckon I can hold out for it to drop to a tenner eventually

There was something I wasn't enjoying playing it with the aim.
I got comfortable playing with the moves and enjoying the setup.
Now I'm in the minority there!!
The aim is usually my go to controller.

I was watching an interview with the writers of Until Dawn and I never realised that the VR game The Inpatient is a prequel to Until Dawn.

Has anyone played it an recommend it? I see it's currently on sale for 10 euro on psn store.

Ammmm I've played it but I can't tell you much about the story (I was a few cans deep when I played through it :o ). It's slow enough from what I remember but you do have multiple choice actions etc during the game and multiple endings as well. If you can get it cheap (i.e around 10e) it's worth a look.

On a non VR related note - Man of Medan is there for 15e as well, part of the new trilogy they are working on. Really good game in the same vein of Until Dawn set on a spooky boat :D

    I loved it.
Not really a game, but more of an interactive experience. This and vader immortal are the closest things you can come to actually being in a movie.

I loved Until Dawn but I keep hesitating to get Man of Medan. The new one coming out looks much better but I would have preferred a full game like UD. Even the writers wanted to make a full game and weren't happy with the smaller chunks. 15 is a good price though.

3 of us played it here one Saturday night and got a good 3-4 hours out of it - it has a “movie night” mode where you all pick a character and pass the controller :) well worth it at 15.

Is Everybody’s golf worth 9.99 if you have the moves for it? I tried the demo but found the swing weird with move, was like the club was clipping through the ground 3/4 times resulting in a missed hit. I assume there’s a floor setting somewhere?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,793 ✭✭✭coolisin

The inpatient got a terrible reputation cause it's more of an interactive experience, as said!
The fact you speak the lines is cool.
    But it's really really slow.

It has a great but of tension!
One point you know something is there and your no I'm not turning around no I'm not ah I have to look!

For €10 to complete the until dawn story it's good
