Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Right its good to know that people with power and speed are also suffering! :p

Seriously though its absolutely awful, from your reaction I take it the redesign is new - I've not been on live betting for weeks.

Just to re-iterate this I tried to place a bet and no matter how many times I clicked the market bet nothing happened.

    I'll never even try again.

Paddy Powers keeps locking me out on login on moblile. Infuriating, lodged to Bet365 instead.

Shame, because I actually like Powers, except for poor in-running soccer prices and **** cash out offers.

Bet €20 pre match and get a Free in play bet of €5 for the Arsenal v Liverpool match :(.
A €5, not the usual decent PP offer.

In January my Paddy Power account got suspended and needed to be "verified". I've had this account for at least 6 years and regularly made deposits/withdraws throughout that time. Now all of a sudden I have to verify my age? I had no email and no prior warning, was trying to make a deposit too. They say I have to give them my passport number or driving licence number to get the account going again. IS there any other way to get it active again as I do not want to give them either of these documents information.

I sent them a photo of my drivers licence but blocked out the numbers on it and they did not accept. Do i have to cave and give in or any other way around?

    Cheers

How did you get verified in the first place if you didn't send in those documents? Don't understand how it's different this time.

    Garda Age Card?

That's what I said to live help and they said and got the bog standard "we have to do it to all accounts", then questioned why my friends accounts haven't had this treatment and was told "they will be soon"

When logging in to account "We’ve attempted to verify you electronically and unfortunately have not been able to verify you are over 18. Don’t worry though it shouldn’t take long to get you going again" message is there, I also asked why they couldn't verify me through my bank account again with no joy

Haven't had a Garda Age card in many years!

All bookmakers are verifying accounts lately, I had bet365 and Bet Victor onto me in the past few months. They are all at it. Done Powers last year after about 7 years with them.

It's so easy to get verified, I just take a picture of my diving licence, an old type one thats been throw the washing machine more times. Along with a utility bill statement. And email them off. Within a few hours all is verified.

Why you hiding your driving number on your licence? If someone wants that information, it wouldn't be that hard to obtain to be fair now. Not exactly sensitive information really is it?

Yea going to send on, I know its not going to be given away or anything but an email beforehand would of been nice rather than trying to log on and my account is suspended.

PP just annoying me as had problems with their live bets too and just wanted to be awkward torwards them :pac:

As already said, everybody is doing it now.
The T&C's when you sign up first (not that anybody ever reads them) say you will have to verify your account if asked.

Boyles have changed their Golf offers .
Used to be Cash Back if 2nd or 3rd in (mostly) both Sky tournaments weekly.
Now changed to Money Back as a FREE BET so stake not refunded any more.

Right lads, hopefully someone has some advice for me here. I made a bet with boylesports (both online and in shops) on Eden Hazard to be in the PFA team of the year as a midfielder. The docket itself says "PFA team of the year Midfielders". I went to the shop to collect, and they said it was paying out as a dead heat. I explained the bet and how it couldn't be a dead heat, the man in the shop rang someone to check and then they paid me out in full. However, the online bet was paid out as a dead heat and when I went to live chat they referred it to a trader and the still say it's a dead heat. What do I do here, I really can't leave it as its €700 I'm missing out on and they're completely in the wrong.

yep as long as you have verified your account. you will also need to get a cash card which are free to obtain in store. its fairly handy

How could there be a dead heat if the bet was !to make a team"?

I would get back onto Live Chat and say (don't mention it was you) that someone else you know had a bet in the shop and got paid the full amount.
IBAS would be the next port of call.

Every time I collect from Boylesports, it takes them ages to pay out and the staff member will look at you as if you were doing something wrong.

That's a bizarre decision. I can accept that errors are made and I suppose a result can be settled incorrectly but surely as soon as the complaint was made Boyles could see this and rectify it and resettle the market. Don't see why there had to be such a runaround when it was pointed out to them. Especially when if they fixed it once for the shop bet already.

Terrible company. Have an account with them but it's so rare they go top price on anything that the one time this past football season they were top price on my selection I couldn't remember my account details.

Right my boylesports problem was all sorted, I sorted it with them but I think it was only when I threatened to take it to IBAS did they clear it up. It had already been reviewed by their trading department once and they didn't clear it up the first time.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

I currently have a PP account and a Betfair account, for betting on horse racing.

I know it's often said that it's best to have several accounts. Going to set up a third account today - any advice for the best bookie for online betting on horse racing?

Apologies if this has been covered already; it's a very long thread! :o

Had a 9/2 (morning price) winner in a race in Tipperary yesterday with 888sport. There was a rule 4 deduction, looks like I lost 25%. Thing is I got paid out less than the sp. Didn't seem right, should I get back to them

Surely I should get the sp at the very minimum?

    Thanks

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 599 ✭✭✭Ian Whelan

"Best Price Guaranteed" aside and assuming that you do not get the best price guaranteed then I understand that the rules of racing state that if the withdrawal occurs prior to the formation of a new market and the SP under the new market is not less than the original price then you are paid out at the original price.

What should happen here.. Put an accumulator on in shop. Last leg was Treviso +26 which i saw on coupon. Arrive to collect told sorry the correct line was 25. As a 'goodwill gesture' we will void that part of bet. Surely this isn't right? Why did they take bet if the line on coupon was incorrect and never checked before taking bet.

So every couple of weeks or so, when I log in to PaddyPower, they randomly announce that I'm accessing from the USA and therefore the front door closes temporarily.

This would of course be fine if I'm chilling out with a hot americano in central perk, playing telecasters down in the five n'dime stores on frisco's Mission St, or having a lucky dip in Vegas. Thing is only ever access from (private connection) in Ireland, and whatsmyip address pings show this also to be the case. Did the clear cache and multiple browser test, but still persists until emails are sent. Never use the app (don't like it), just the desktop site from a single laptop.

    Any explanation?

The only thing can think of is:
    a) someone 'junior' presumes I'm a yankie doodle, as do well on the late evening us-baseball/basketball/nfl markets.
    b) someone across the pond has logged in / or attempted to login with my username (re: the 2010 reported 650,000 user data breach). They don't show last login time/dates (including attempts) unlike other similar services, which would be a good idea for user security.

    Anyone ever experience this scenario?

I find it odd that they claim palp error on a 1 point difference in handicap

Coupons should be filled in not used as odds checker. It says at the bottom subject to change.

difference between odds change and changing the handicap line surely?
bookies will chance their arm to avoid winning bets no matter how big or small.

Paddys were 10/11 with line set to 28 so dont know why they would all of a sudden change from 26 to 25

bookies hold majority of the cards so can rule how they feel fit.
if all else fail they claim palpable error

on a few occasions some bookies tried to do me on horse race accas on rule 4's etc.
its easy to argue by looking at BHA etc for times of non runners and claiming markets were reformed but in other sports its hard to argue.

however they only voided that portion of the acca and paid out on all remaining winners?
maybe in this instance they are being genuine?
why not void the whole acca and give just your stake back if they really did not want to pay full winnings?

  • Registered Users Posts: 56 ✭✭EOB32

I never really bet in shops but won't be doing it again anyway. I was under the impression they are supposed to check this stuff. If for example the handicap changed and your selection came in by 1 point, you would tear up the betslip and have no idea it was a winner.

On the other hand, if they were clued in and told me of the change more then likely would have taken Treviso +25 and lost so guess it could have been worse

i think this one has to be take on the chin.

i havent stepped foot in a shop in years. i have a number of online accounts so just use them as less problems like this.
although going to the shops i miss out on bets like my brother spotted one day. one shop had winning distances of under 13 lengths and other shop had winning distances of over 11. couldnt lose. as it turned out went to the last race with a chance of both winning but ended over 13 hahaha

No more than horse when money is put on the handicap changes to an even as possible price. Therefore they change the handicap more often in these games. Unlike a horse race where the price changes. Check your bets-- the cashier can't check every tiny thing on bets as more often than not people want/ need to be served quickly in order to get everyones bets on in time
