Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I can't see your images at all. Maybe you can try posting them again.

If you have access to Microsoft Office, you can use Picture Manager to rotate them.

    From your PC's Start button:

All Programs -> Microsoft Office -> Microsoft Office Tools -> Microsoft Office Picture Manager

Starting to increase my distance, did 70km through the Wicklow mountains at the weekend. I'm planning on taking the bike to Kerry later in the month. Have a couple of cycles planned.

I think he means the one on the left, saddle shouldn't really be pointing down at that angle. See Sheldon Brown's advice

I stopped here about 3Km from my house and was going to finish my cycle as I wasn't feeling the best and am pretty unfit! Anyway, it's a Vigil and I had a sit down and had a chat with my Dad, something I have never ever done, (I haven't even grieved him yet) and it really really helped me.

He gave me the strength to push myself another 15KM and got me home safe and without being out of breath or feeling bad about myself!

Make of that what you will, but my dad was with me today.

Love you dad, and I love my family who have been nothing but supportive and full of good things to say.

Life is what you make it! Respect your loved ones, and be happy with what you have!

Morrón de Espuña 1583m as conquered by my good self yesterday. GPS tells me the main portion of the climb is 12.7km at an 8% average and a max of 16%, **** me it was hard work.

I came across this horny ol' bastard on Kellystown Road this morning.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,451 ✭✭✭TheBlaaMan

I dont know if this is simply a co-incidence, or a rather clever play on words..?

Perhaps there's a story behind the name................anyway, anyone know where this is?:D

Is that not Sean Kellys gaff on the road from Dungarvan to carrick? ISTR something like that on a Sean Kelly Tour of Waterord?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,451 ✭✭✭TheBlaaMan

Spot on, ROK ON - you get the prize. Its about 4-5k from Carrick on the Dungarvan road, and very near to the Kelly homestead. I dont know if this greenbelt plantation is actually Kellys, or related to him some other way, or just some homage to his Paris-Roubaix exploits from neighbour, but its nice nonetheless!

I'd say it could be coincidence, as if it was some form of tribute, it'd be spelled correctly (Arenberg rather than Aranberg)... :)

Tiny, thats what I meant by a play on words...........Aran = a very Irish name.....but Arenberg obviously referring to PR. ;)

No one I recognised, I think they are just some friends of his, It is 20 years ago today he won his first Tour. He was riding the route of stage 16 from the 1991 Tour. The stage he got the jersey.

Up til now I've been keeping most of my bike out of photo's to protect the delicate eyes of Boardsies from it's dirty hybridness, but I'll make an exception here...

    @Smacl.

Did you have the bike on a car rack around Kenmare on Saturday. I was sure that I saw a hybrid with a brooks suspension type saddle and it stuck in my mind as being out of place.

Yup, that would have been me alright en route to a nice kayaking place with an at sea trampoline on the Beara side of Kenmare, just after the spin back from Ballagisheen. The sprung Brooks and 32c tyres are a joy where the paving just stops dead on some sections of the smaller roads, but the steed is more dray horse than thoroughbred.
