Was anyone else hoping that they would play his music and titantron but bring Gillberg out instead? :p

great promo for Goldberg, he was very emotional about it and i liked how he went around to all the kids in the front rows. Sad this will be his last ever match and no doubt about it he will be the headliner in the 2017 HOF and may make the occasional apperence. I just hope he is physical able for Survivor Series and we wont (god forbid) have a repeat of the Ultimate Warrior tragedy in 2014 where the emotions of returning are too much to handle and his heart is not able for it anymore (seeing Goldbergs wife and son there reminded me of the Ultimate warrior and his family)

rest of raw was meh. Can see the y2j and KO friendship ending pretty soon (y2j set to go back to fozzyland in november so he may be attacked by KO and wrote off tv). Although they would be good together on Team Raw (singles team, not the tag team)

Enjoyed the rusev family thing, that dog is one weird looking thing.

enjoying the buildup to the womens HIAC

So our New day face or heel ??. can deff see Sheasaro (i thought of that name lol) winning the tag team titles at HIAC. maybe starting the dimise of new day

Going to miss the Strowman squash matches. Sami Zayn is a weird one to go up against him. Why or why didnt they debut Samoa Joe to face him like was rumoured ???

i got totally caught up in that goldberg segment well more then i thought id be.

im actually looking forward to the heyman and brocks reply.

    great promo by goldberg

Bob Backlund is absolutely bat sh1t, I love it. :pac: Sami Zayn giving the cool nod of approval was great as well. Such a great moment so for that alone it's worth seeing him back even if the match is a nightmare.

Only thing I'd say is that if this was 10 years ago a few of those lads would be getting Paul London'ed by Vince for being goofs during his walk. I read a few things about Vince's heart not being 100% invested in Goldberg's return so I wouldn't be surprised if he told the guys to do what they wanted during the walk.

Just started watching, recorded from last night. This opening promo shows exactly how good KO and Jericho are - the smarks cheer them all the way down to the ring, but within 30 seconds of them on the mic, the whole crowd is booing them.

Said last week that I just didn't get the Goldberg hype but after watching that entrance, I'm on the hype train.

I wish Goldberg would have 2 fights. Not going to happen but especially after that segment I really can't help but like the guy and would like to see him win on his return instead of going out while Brock gets his win back at a Survivor Series. Hard not to like him with his super hero for the kids line especially when you can see that he means it by going out of his way to interact with all the kids at ringside (not just his own) combined obviously with the nostalgia factor and that he after 12 years away still has more star power than virtually anyone on the roster.

That said if he did have a second fight they would probably just have HHH go over him at Mania in another WWE beats WCW moment.

Lesnar will go over and get good heat that they can instantly piss away by booking him in a programme with Reigns. Watch this space.

keep reigns as far away from Lesner as possible, hell i think Taker should be kept away from Lesner as its been done to death

Kevin Owens vs Lesner would be gold, Samoa Joe vs Lesner could be gold too.

just watching it again, yeah Backlund was great as Goldberg walk through, as was Zayn, Mark Henry, and R Truth, but Neville, Big Cass, Enzo Amore couldnt have looked more un-interested in been there

Another great aspect of Goldberg positioning himself as wanting to come back and be a hero for kids is that promo Brock did a few weeks back with Slater where he had that killer line, 'I don't give a sh*t about your kids.' I'd like to see them replay that line in video packages highlighting the contrasting attitudes of both guys.

I can't wait for Paul Heyman's response next week. They give him a lot of freedom in his promos and I think he is the ideal guy to build upon the great work laid down by Goldberg's promo last night. I think Heyman can knock it out of the park. It might also be a good idea to have Brock say a sentence or two next week. Looking forward to it.

Ok Raw, although that botch (assuming it was) of Dana pinning Bayley clean just makes Bayley look bad.

Great promo at the end. Was that Mickie that he walked past in the back?

Given that Shane McMahon and Lesnar have unfinished business I reckon that interference from Shane will lead to a Goldberg victory.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,883 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Bayley and The Bullet Club are the new JOB Squad.

Yeah, seriously who did Bayley annoy? She was set to be great role model and was hugely successful in NXT. Now kinda wishing she stayed in NXT if this is how she's going to be treated.

You'd assume Bayley will be getting the next shot at Sasha's title so she isn't in too bad a spot.

Poor Sami though, he's getting fed to Boring Strawman.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,883 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Poor Neville getting fed to Bo.

At least Strowman is a more believeable winner than Dana.

Mightn't be too bad for Sami if they make him a credible threat and stretch it out over more than one PPV. Of course he's not getting a win but nobody is until somebody is granted the big win, probably at Mania, and probably Reigns.

Just after seeing it now as well, that closing segment really was something special. Great crowd, great promo and just great in general, it all came together perfectly. Actually dying to see Raw next week now to see Lesnar's reaction.

    Goosebumps....what a crowd reaction...

I loved that line, cause it is in a way kind of tragic. A superhero knowing he only has one last fight, and then he's gone again. And the fact he's not been in WWE for 12 years means you actually get the sense it's true.

I've said it before, but Strowman just doesn't look scary, so I cannot buy him as this monster they are portraying him as. Sami deserves so much better.

Has to be some sort of Shane O Mac interference, can't see how it won't end with that

If Goldberg's one-and-done then he should lose.

I just noticed the other day that at the end of the segment they played Goldberg's WWE theme. I hadn't picked up on that at the time. That might be the first time a guy entered to one theme and left to another. I hope he enters to the WCW theme again at Survivor Series.

Mankind use to do that. He had an outro theme.

    Raw2016Logo-500x281.jpg

Another week, another bastard RAW, the go home to Hell In A Cell.. Paul Heyman made the challenge, Goldberg accepted, now Brock (well more than likely Heyman) will address Goldberg's accepting of said challenge..

Some other stuff too besides Lesnar/Goldberg...

Will friendship be tested in Triple Threat Match main event?

Cesaro & Sheamus battle The New Day before WWE Hell in a Cell

Can Sami Zayn end Braun Strowman’s destruction?

Who will gain key momentum before WWE’s first Women’s Hell in a Cell Match?

Another 60 days or so before The New Day break Demolition's record and it can't come soon enough for me.

I'm assuming there's an ulterior motive of some kind at play here given they've held the tag titles so long, otherwise they'd have long dropped them to Gallows & Anderson.

I read and I do take these things with a pick of salt.. Vince doesn't want Demolition holding the record any more because they are involved in the concussion law suit against him.

Everything regarding pro-wrestling should be taken with a pinch of salt.. Not surprised if it's true Vince wanting them to beat the record... The man, simply put knows how to hold a grudge..

2 more weeks til my first ever raw live in Glasgow but a lot to happen before that in world of raw

Think they will add a stipulation to the triple threat main event tonight that if Jericho wins he will get a shot at the title at HIAC

Think someone will be feed to Brock tonight and he will obv reaccept Goldberg's challenge

New Day are getting a bit repetitive and the titles need to change hands

I noticed at the time, and may have have posted about it, that He walked through the back to his wcw theme and as soon as the pyro went off and he walked out, it changed to that wwe sh*te, I think it's fair to say it'll be that rubbish wwe theme again at SS

You reckon he'll walk out to the WWE one? Man I hope not. I was hoping they might bring back the cops with his WCW theme and have him get one last big entrance for old time's sake.

Very excited to see what promo Paul Heyman comes up with tonight and what angle he goes with. I'm sensing he will warn Goldberg not to do the match for the sake of his family. Also keen to see if Brock says anything. I think a few lines would be useful.

Trust WWE to ruin a fun little thing like The List by doing a 20 minute promo opening the show about it.

A combination of it being for most a hard to watch 3 hour slog and the best bits being easily watched on youtube the next day mean its not worth staying up for.

One single solitary post during the live broadcast. That tells a story all on its own!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,883 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

    Four live RAW's a month @3 hours.

    Four live Smackdown's a month @2hours

    Two live PPV's a month @3 hours.

That's 26 hours of live wrestling a month before over runs also pre & post shows it is way to much for me anyway especially when most of it is repetitive & written badly.

Uncharacteristically poor segment from Heyman, first time I ever turned him off before hr finished.

Either it was just a bad night at the office or he must have been significantly hamstrung on what he could and couldn't say.....and given Brock did not get on the mic, I'd lean towards the latter. That Goldberg promo last week needed a response directly from the Beast and we didn't get one.
