Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just heavy rain so far in Waterford city. Looks like squall lost a lot of its punch on the way

The snow gets going tonight (Sunday night) in the west with showers widespread and turning to snow elsewhere later in the night.

On Monday more prolonged snow effecting the southern half of the country (perhaps more sleety in some southern counties for a time).

Do you think we will get a snow warning Kermit? Looks borderline sleet for Cork area though the heavy ppn might swing it...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,898 ✭✭✭Cork Lass

The wind is really wild in Cork city now. Rain not too heavy yet.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,634 ✭✭✭✭Graces7

After a few hours of calm silence, back to high winds and heavy rain out here.

It's more marginal further south because it's nearer the warm sector of those fronts, could be rain and sleet but probably only for a time.

    Nowcast.

Not sure a warning is warranted just yet.

If I was picking a sweet spot over the next few days I would go with somewhere like Millstreet

We are getting some light show in Newbridge, Kildare. I haven’t seen lightening like this in a long time, even longer if we are only talking about Ireland.

Analysis at 06Z. The low is 4 hPa higher and a little further west than forecast 24 hours ago. The gradient is slightly less severe, which is why we're not seeing the high winds expected at places like Belmullet, Mace Head and Sherkin. Gust of 59 knots at Sherkin the highest so far this morning. The peak should have already arrived in those parts by now.
