And the Guinness has an expiry date of Xmas this year, so no excuse for anyone to waste their slabs ;)

Just picked up a couple of slabs of Guinness in Aldi @ €20.

They also had Bud & Canadian at same price along with some good bottle offers.

Anyone know where I can buy the cheapest coffee liqueur? I know about Kahlua in duness and Tesco but it’s like €23, would like to find something a bit cheaper also any good deals on vodka this weekend?

    Making White Russian cocktails

I wonder how would tesco or lidl or aldi version of baileys with some Irel coffee essence work out... possibly too sweet.
Would be lot cheaper in long run.

    Sheridan’s is €15 in O’Brien’s, but it’s a 500ml bottle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,934 ✭✭✭✭fin12

Ya I’m say I’ll end up buying the Kahlua. It’s just a pity Aldi or Lidl don’t have their own version. I picked up a bottle of creme de cassis from lidl and it’s really nice.

Aldi do have their own coffee liqueur, I think it's ~€10: https://www.aldi.co.uk/espresso-coffee-liqueur/p/072800256900002 I'm not sure if it's seasonal though.

Kahlua is in a league of its own in the coffee liqueur market. What we think of coffee liqueur is usually of Baileys and its cheaper equivalents from Tesco/Dunnes/Aldi/Lidl which can be picked up for less than 10 euro a 700ml bottle.
They are of the wine stock, guess you have to pay top euro for kahlua for the non-wine type. As it's for shots/cocktail mix, then you'll have to bite the bullet as the alternative liqueurs that are wine based are not great "dissolvers" for cocktails.

Thanks but I was in Aldi today and in the drink section and didn’t see that bottle.

Good chance at that price to try Grolsch if you haven't before.
    I find it very palatable.

I nearly always have rakes of beer I got cheap so would also not pay full price, but the regular price of 1.40 for that 5% beer is relatively OK. I have never seen anybody turn their nose up at the UK grolsch, nothing amazing about it but no weird twang or anything.

It would be a safe bet for people wanting a random case of beer for a party -you always get somebody badmouthing heineken/bud/carlsberg/carling etc. Though when their beer runs out they usually will swill the one they deemed pure piss an hour ago!

There have been weird things going on. Last night I checked that smirnoff and it was listed as 23euro to buy online, but the yellow offer tag beside it (online) was saying 25euro. I saw this before a month or so ago.

    But today both said 23.

I have heard of people questioning prices instore and getting them for the cheaper price. Also though the price you saw was 25 it might well be 23 at the till, this was happening with jack daniels before. You might be able to check on the instore scanners.

I know we're spoiled, and it can't last, but 20 a litre is my buy price - usually get that 3 or 4 times a year, either in Tesco, or in Dunnes with the voucher..

Brexit might put paid to that, if it ever comes to pass..

Will keep an eye out for those, a lot of ciders that used to be dry have become insufferably sweet over the last few years - trying to ape Bulmers I suppose.
