Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Best of luck CL, it’s a stressful but wonderful day and one you’ll remember for the rest of your life.

Only little bit of advice I would give is try to find a little bit of time for just the two of you. Might sound easy however the day flys by and is always someone who will want to talk to you or somewhere you have to be etc.

We brought the kids in to see Annie the musical in the BGE Theatre on Saturday, never realised it was set around christmas, all the references to seasons greetings, merry christmas & happy holidays caught me on the hop. Knew the basic story but never remembered Annie originally only moving in with Oliver Warbucks for 2 weeks over the Christmas holidays. Made me smile anyway!

When you watch something you recorded around Christmas. It may not be a Christmas program/film but the Christmas ads come on.

I did that a couple of days ago. Made me smile. :)

Weather is overcast and windy in cork today and apart from the mild temperatures it reminds me of an autumn/winter day :-) made me feel Christmassy for a bit :-P

It was just brilliant! The best of days! Everything was just perfect and everyone was really chilled out, there was no stress or panic over anything. One of our guests said to me that it was the most relaxed wedding she'd been to :D

We just wish we could do it all again tomorrow! The kids had a ball too, the eldest keeps saying "mam, can we talk about the wedding?" And then we have an hour by hour of what happened from the Friday to the Sunday - she's gas :D:D:D

If my maths is correct Sept. 17th is day 99... not far away at all. :)

    Weeks are flying by.
Work being crazy busy is helping that I suspect as I seem to suffering through a series of deadlines that have me flat out most of the week. Coupled with work being done in the house in the background and everything seems to be hectic for us atm. Hence looking forward to the weekends immensely! :D

You’re exactly right. 17th is my sister in laws birthday but more importantly it brings us to double digits.

    Autumn clothes.
Not only they look fab; they also are generally more classic, better quality and longer lasting than Summer ones. So they last longer and it is a real pleasure for me to take them out again for a spin !

Also covers more, so no more pressure to keep in 't-shirt shape'!

Must admit never really watched it however we watched the one last night. Some of the breads looked amazing!

Assume they do a Christmas theme one closer to the time?

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 27,642 Mod ✭✭✭✭Posy

Usually not, it's filmed in early/mid summer.
The first episode had a few Christmas themed fruit cakes in it though. :)

Love GBBO & really enjoy sitting down to watch it each week, we Sky+ it so we can fast forward the ad breaks though, we watch so little live TV these days the ad breaks really drag it out too much for our liking :)

One thing about bake off is it leave's me craving treats every week, I find it very hard to sit down with a cup of tea to watch it & not get the urge to cram a bag of donuts or a cream cake or suchlike into my mouth.

Anyone have a prediction for a winner yet? Or a favourite they hope will win?

That explains why I ended up stuffing my face with about 10 fig rolls during one of the breaks. It was subliminal marketing from the TV not my uncontrollable weakness for biscuits. :D

One of the joys of young kids is being up early even at the weekends. This time actually suits for trying to watch sport, as kids are having brekkie and playing and its still too early to be heading to the playground out for a cycle etc so don't feel guilty.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,478 ✭✭✭✭DvB

Was out early as our hurling matches were away & started at 10am & we had to be there for 9.15 so had no chance to watch either game so far, wont see the Russia game either as I'll be in work & the Samoa game clashes with another hurling match so theres a chance I'll not see a single Ireland game in the whole RWC... after Saturday mind thats possibly not a bad thing.
