Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Actually has anyone ever 'jammed' a 20mm strap into an 18mm space?
Is the idea of trimming a bit off each side just silly?

Some straps can handle being notched but I don't think it would look too good with this strap.

I don't want to cause any fuss over who buys the strap, just glad that it is going to one of you guys. Ted you showed first interest so if you want it it's yours, just send me on a pm and we can exchange details.

Anyone interested in a Seiko SNK803 beige?

Moving on one or 2 watches that aren't getting the wrist time they deserve. I think I still have the original canvas strap that came with it (which to be honest I didn't like)
Its on a leather strap at the moment. Need to check it when I get home. Think I bought 2 straps for this (tan & dark brown). Will see what I have and I can post pics.

Would €50 be reasonable enough asking price?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,220 ✭✭✭✭Lex Luthor

Here's some wrist shots of the watch on the 3 different straps

Watch is being sold with the original canvas but also the potential buyer can have either the tan or dark brown strap aswell.

All for €50, please PM me if interested

    Thanks

If only I had a spare €50, I'd be all over that like a rash. Looks cracking on the tan strap. GLWS.

Looking for a Steinhart Ocean 44 or Steinhart Ocean 1 Green, if anyone is looking to move theirs on...

Any interest in this for 160?

It's a Deep Blue Sea Ram quartz - think it's about 44mm in size and it's in good condition. It's a nice watch that feels pretty well built.

Comes in a carry case with a rubber strap, the leather one it's one in the picture, and I think I've nylon black strap for it too.

Ocean one green is available for 380 notes on the Steinhart site

You probably won't find a second hand one any cheaper as they tend to hold their value extremely well.

Looking for something classic, dress watch, must have date function but can't have day function. Only 22 and just starting to get into watches so first decent purchase. Suit and tie job so would be a daily wear, could go as far as €1,500 for the right piece, failing that I'm gonna buy an automatic Tissot, Frederique Constant, Longines etc new.

Also open to any general advice about buying etc.

Better to post this elsewhere- this is really only for watches for sale....

    €1500 for a watch at 22?

    Have a look at these:

    http://www.creationwatches.com/products/seiko-kinetic-68/

I'd get one of these and take your time on deciding what you really want - your tastes will change over the next couple of years.

^^ this. If you don't already have a mini grail then I would buy wisely now until you find your style of watch.

Alternatively if money isn't an object and you're happy to spend some money then look at Steinhart or Stowa. 2 great brands with almost all their range under your max budget.

Good luck choosing. It's the fun part.

A good few Hamiltons on that site which would fit the bill. From the same group of companies as Tissot. For some reason they don't really have much brand recognition, but the quality tends to be very good.

I am putting my Breitling SuperOcean Heritage Chronograph up for sale.

The watch is 46mm, automatic and on a very comfortable mesh bracelet. The bracelet is sized for about 7.5" wrist, with 2 extra links available. I have worn this a lot, so it shows signs of wear; in particular a scratch on the side of the case which I have tried to capture in the photos. If you're not a fan of the mesh, this watch also looks good on a leather or rubber strap which you should be able to pick up online for under 100.

It has not been serviced since I bought it (2nd hand) about 3 years ago, however it is still keeping very good time - well within COSC limits.

It comes with the outer box, Bakelite box, travel case and all the bits & pieces you can see below. I am looking for circa EUR 2600. No trades on this one as I am saving up for something.

I have plenty more pictures available if needed.

Trying to fund a new business, so selling a few pieces. First up is my Romain Jerome - a piece of outer space on your wrist! Dial containing moon dust, case contains pieces of the Apollo II spacecraft. As cool as it gets really. I'm raising funds, but may take part trades

Just put my OWC Snowflake up for sale on adverts.ie, I don't have enough posts here to put up a link to ad. but can be viewed on that site.

" Selling my 14 month old OWC Snowflake dive watch. Comes with the full 60 minute, ceramic Milsub style bezel insert which is fully lumed to match the hour markers and hands in Superluminova. Glows all night long. Swiss Soprod A-10 movement. 300m water resistance. 60 click bezel, nice action and lines up perfectly at 12 o' clock. 4mm thick sapphire crystal. Compressor style case back. Lug bars - not spring bars and the heavy bracelet links are also held together with screws (Torx heads). Butterfly bracelet clasp. Also comes with an unopened pair of OWC cufflinks and an unused OWC mesh bracelet (The mesh is substandard IMHO and does not match the superb quality of the rest of the watch). Original and very plain OWC wooden box packaging. I also bought a spare ceramic bezel insert when I bought the watch in case I ever marked the original and at the same time got a few spare caseback screws and a pair of spare lug bars. Watch is 41mm across the bezel, 12.5mm thick and 50.5mm from lug tip to lug tip. The nice case shape with dropped lugs means this wears well on my small 6.5 inch wrist but at the same time will wear well and not look small on bigger wrists. There's a 6 month waiting list for these watches as production runs are small. Very nice, quality watch. Not in a mad panic to sell but have a few watches and am a serial watch-changer! " Price €500.00. Thanks.
