This autumn has all together been very good so far and the amount of sunshine we've had since 1st of September really shows up how awful the summer was.

Great waves and swell on the coasts today.

Very cold fresh start this morning down to 7.1C in a stiff wind, must have been cold out there today.

I get great value out of a good long walk on a day like today because I get a good airing out and all it takes is a quick shower when home.

Just back from a vigorous 4k up and 4k down a hill with a friend. Took advantage of a slight easing of the heavy rain and am delighted we did. It was so warm that a light mist on the way down was refreshing. Was just in the door when it started lashing again. West Limerick

Glad we have been out + about for walks so much this midterm.

Gives us a great excuse to not venture out the door today!

Is that window of half decent weather still holding steady for tomorrow lunchtime onward before the weekend washout?

Need to figure out when I'll get a decent cycle in and that is looking the best bet.

    The silence is breathtaking.

Totally, awesomely quiet. Even the rain has stopped.

    Chill and still.

A day to set all back in order and prepare for the next days of gales

A mixed bag here in NCD.

Very windy all morning, but changes between dull + lashing rain one minute, then sunshine the next.

Glad I got the walk in yesterday!

Won't be same trick or treat this year but we will have a walk around to see some of decorations in houses then back home for treasure hunt in house.

Should be some decent breaks in the cloud early in the night to view the full halloween Moon. First time a full moon has fallen on Halloween itself since 1974.

Also as a matter of interest it is a blue moon because it is the second full moon this calendar month.

It has thankfully quietened the last while. Hopefully a calmer evening and night ahead as we enter November and winter. May the transition be smooth and hopeful . It was always seen as an auspicious and significant time,, hence all Hallows Eve today, then All Saints tomorrow then All Souls .

This is the sheltered bay behind my home. Usually millpond calm with just a gentle, soothing tidal flow and music...

With these gales! I had never seen it like this before... Stood there rapt and it was worth getting drenched .
