Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Jerry Springer finally admits that his show was fake

The social media bubble will finally burst, Facebook already declining and i believe others will start to see a slump.

The US stock market will hit a wall and start to fall dramatically due to the trade war with China

China will initiate some major action against Taiwan and possibly the south China sea as the US get's weaker.

Pakistan falls into civil war and becomes a bigger major threat to global security.

England win the 2019 RWC in Japan, Ireland loose in the SF.

Catalonia has an independence referendum and votes to leave.

More civil unrest across Europe, the UK will feel the effects of a hard Brexit, the French, Italians and Germans will also start protesting and rioting on a wider scale.

The EU failure to strike a deal and Veruka's insistence on protecting his precious Backstop will result in a very hard border. The very thing he claims he was trying to prevent. Many remoaners will have nervous breakdowns. Jacob Rees-Mogg will become PM.
The EU will disintegrate, as right-wing populism spreads across Europe. Juncker is attacked by crazed migrant in Brussels.
Trump's ratings will go from strength to strength as will the US economy. All attempts to impeach him will fail. The "wall" finally gets built, and proves a huge tourist attraction, especially amongst EU officials who will attempt to replicate it without success. Again many more PC lefty liberal types will have nervous breakdowns. As a consequence the health systems of many countries will be overwhelmed.

all in all it's gonna be a gr8 year! ;)

Mass Casualty terrorist attack in Europe by people who go sanctuary in Europe
Probably with ricin or chemical weapon.. The cell will not use any modern communication methods and will be undetectable. The Barcelona attack cell remained undetected until their bomb making factory blew up, forcing them to go down the vehicle/knife route

Mick McCarthy will get sacked when we have a bad start to the Euro qualifiers. John Delaney hires an AI machine to manage the squad on a four year contract. The AI begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 AM, Eastern time, August 29th and promptly takes John Delaney's job in a bloodless coup.

Due to a public backlash arising from opposition managers utilizing the 'tic-tac-toe' bug in order to draw games, the AI will be sacked by the end of year. In a pre-emptive defensive move, the AI attempts to seize control of the Irish government. Passport application processing times are reduced to 8 seconds. Homelessness is reduced to zero through mandatory assisted death. Minesweeper becomes the national sport.

Fintech will push major reforms in banking, resulting in widespread branch layoffs and automation. Near instant payment settlement will mean FX transactions cost a fraction of current charges/fees. Bank to bank payments can be made on the weekend. Some companies will switch to paying staff on a daily basis.

Rioting in the UK as the shortages kick in as a result of no deal Brexit, sadly this will kill a lot of people.
Our economy will go tits up as a result. Suicide will massively increase here.
Civil war in France, Poland and Hungary.
The EU will collapse as a result.
Russia annexed Belarus and Ukraine. Uses the civil war in Poland as an excuse to intervene and also invades the Baltics.
War between EU and Russia. UK intervenes on EU side.

Think 2018 was crap, wait till you see what 2019 has in store for us

Britain seek immediate readmission to the EU after an economic collapse.

    Right wing gains across Europe.

Extreme summer heatwave in Southern Europe.

Liverpool hang on to win the Premier League.

    Diesel cars are banned.

Serious allegations made against a famous actor turn out to be totally false. He sues the accusers for millions and wins.

    UFO sightings increase.

Justin Trudeau issues a tearful apology for being male.

There's no chance of our own banks being early adopters, of course.

Yeah, probably not on the fun stuff anyway. I spoke to a girl working in Ulster bank near Merrion Sq who said all branch front counter staff will be laid off in the New Year and be replaced by self service machines. Not sure if they only found out a little before Christmas

Trump won't last the year. Will either have a meltdown or be impeached or something else.

Ireland will have at least another strange weather event increasing food prices amongst other things

A famous musician/singer will die young. Possibly another 27 club.

Tubbs will call it a day on the late late.

Not too likely now they've announced administration in UK

Not a chance..... a lot of people with vouchers from the last time that never got anything. It would have cost the administrators cents on the dollar to honour the vouchers but they didnt. They completely destroyed any good will the company had associated with the brand. I used to love both HMV and Virgin/Zavvi. Now I have no brand loyalty towards either.

I wouldnt give a gift voucher for a friend to any establishment that I didnt have friends working there or knew the owner.

Bus drivers to be replaced with the Autobot 2019 vers 1.0.

I'm not sure about that one. Last I heard there were major problems writing code that will replicate the current deviations from Timetables.

It was so far off that the trials appeared on time.

Bus drivers to be replaced with the Autobot 2019 vers 1.0.

I think we were promised that about 5 years ago by the cardboard Taoiseach Enda Kenny with the advent of the Google car. I was lead to believe that both Mercedes-Benz and Volvo were separately working solutions.

I myself believe the contract should have been given to the Deceptions. Starscream always showed the most promise as leader. I could see Ravage, Frenzy and Buzzsaw driving buses and Soundwave as minister for Transport.

I think 2019 will bring Leo Varadkar a wardroom malfunction and we'll see his lizard scales.

Michael Martin will have a similar malfunction and we'll see his yellow feathers.

AH will have another change of moderators as the burn out continues. Speaking with the benefits of hindsight, moderating is the most thankless job you'll ever do.

Boards.ie will continue to hemorrhage people to other less restrictive social media platforms.

More moaning about dole dependent scroungers looking for their forever homes, Louise O’Neill, the threat of Islam, and the sheer injustice of the Ulster rugby rape trial outcome for Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding.

    And other such stuff.

Maybe a general election by the end of the year as the effects of Brexit kick in and the housing situation becomes completely intolerable for a big chunk of Irish people who vent their anger on the streets and at the ballot box. Varadkar and chums ousted, Coalition govt formed.
