Telly legend Sir Jimmy Savile will be named as a paedophile in a shocking new documentary.
Several victims will speak on camera and claim that the star, who died last October, abused them when they were under-age.
The programme will claim that Sir Jimmy used his position as host of shows including Top Of The Pops, Jim’ll Fix It and Clunk Click to find girls who he abused.

Seems its all coming out now then.

I found this section somewhat bizarre:

Savile always claimed that the key to his success on Jim’ll Fix It was that he actually disliked children, although in later years he maintained that he had offered this explanation to allay any untoward suspicions that he liked them too much. Rumours of under-age sex circulated for some years, although the fact that no allegations of impropriety ever appeared in print seemed to confirm Savile’s own insistence that he had “no past, no nothing”.

But he was always careful to guard against the possibilities of any misunderstandings, and the predatory intentions of parents or the press. When children knocked on his door for autographs, he would refuse to open it, instead passing the signed photographs and scraps of paper back through the letter box. In later years he even refused to have a computer in his home, explaining that he did not want anybody thinking he was downloading child pornography.

Seemingly, he was deliberately trying to NOT look like a paedo, seems like a lot of effort.

I heard rumours he had a super injunction out? Hence why this couldn't come out while he was alive

Also, I believe he was a frequent visitor to that care home in Jersey that made the news a few years ago, about the abuse that was carried out there. I think theres a photograph floating around showing him there?

Looking forward to seeing this doc - have heard and read the rumours going back a good few years back

Also, there's a transcript of a taping of a show, where Paul Merton has a right aul go!!! Shocking read actually

I suspect that IF true, the truth might come out.

I'm upset by this and hope its untrue - my cousin was on Jim will fix it!! in the 80's and TOTP's never had a better presenter IMO. He is also considered to be the first ever DJ

Rumors are rumors are not fact. I'd like to see proper research done before judgment starts. Otherwise a man's name and reputation could be tarnished. Of course being dead it won't matter to him, but at the same time. Not a great thing to be accused and then remembered for something that might be wrong.

Guido got wind of this yesterday, but this week’s Oldie magazine is out, and has more details about a possible BBC cover up after Newsnight unearthed allegations of child abuse by Jimmy Savile on BBC property. The report was spiked, leaving a host of unanswered questions:

“The Newsnight investigation uncovered information of which Surrey Police was not aware, and moreover allegations were made about living people. Surely the BBC had a duty to inform the police about these disclosures? Yet there is no indication that it has done so, and the BBC has refused to answer questions about this. Furthermore, given that Savile was on the BBC’s payroll for more than 25 years, and along with the other celebrities who are still alive, is alleged to have abused minors on BBC premises, shouldn’t the Corporation have launched an in-house inquiry?

When asked if BBC Director-General Mark Thompson knew of the Newsnight report, the BBC refused to comment. But a source has told me that Thompson was tackled about the axing of the report at a pre-Christmas drinks party, so he cannot claim to be ignorant of it.”

The man raised tens of millions of pounds for charity,helped thousands of people and lead an extraordinary life.
He hasn't a chance to defend himself from the grave and I think people should thread carefully out of respect for this fact as we have no evidence to the contrary just hearsay from a journalist.

Also I don't think its appropriate to reprint lists of ALLEGED transgressors. Posting lists of names and apparent crimes with no evidence or convictions is incredibly damaging to peoples reputations if untrue.

Fooled a lot of fence sitters, that one.

Saville was no angel, of that there is no doubt-but it would be typical of the usually classy ITV to wait until the man's anniversary to push out a cowardly missive on his life.

If this were real journalism, they'd have done it while he was still around.
