Think the Armagh one looks nice. DCB seriously should look at getting Vodafone to do something about that red splotch

Vodafone are giving Dublin GAA millions to have their logo on the jersey. What are they seriously going to do? I wish people would realise how ridiculous they sound. It's just a sponsor and a jersey. By far the most lucrative sponsor in GAA history too

Really wish Donegal would go back to O'Neills. Azzurri jerseys really are inferior quality. Got the new one at the start of the Championship and only wore it to the games. Washed a handful of times. Threads coming out and a kind of worn look about it. Others have had the same complaints. It is a joke really at €60.

Also, while I think Azzurri have slowly improved the styling of their jerseys there still a long way short of O'Neills. They need to ditch the horrific font they use for numbering and the numbering on Donegal jerseys should be green instead of black as it was back in the O'Neill days.

Couldn't agree more. Its a win-win situation. Without such a lucrative deal such a training and preparation infrastructure couldnt be put in place or at least it would be a struggle. Dublin are in a fortunate position being as marketable as they are.

You'd be better off thanking god almighty to have a sponsor of Vodafones decency. Change their logo, aye, they'll do that for Dublin GAA.

Aye, the players have also gotten a lot of phones and nice phone deals out of it. Only a fool would be dissatisfied with that. But there you go.

What made them "irish jobs"? They're a business, perhaps they should go on the way the likes of Sean Quinn did, then you'd be happier maybe? I was referring to their decency to Dublin players and backroom staff, but feel free to climb up on your high horse nonetheless.

O'Neills promoting Dublin jerseys as Christmas presents today. Selling them 3 for 2. Does that mean we won't see the new Dublin jersey until the new year?

No there just getting rid of the old stock

Bit misleading sending customers an email of a Christmas promotional offer if there's going to be a new jersey out in time for Christmas.

Its called business, its not just on the Dublin jersey its on all county jerseys.

They're selling ALL county jerseys 3 for 2, doesn't mean there's a new jersey at all.

I know they are but they can tailor their emails to cater for who they are sending them to. So this morning I got an email marketing the 3 for 2 offer on the dublin jerseys as a Christmas promo.

Now we all know that Dublin have had the same jersey for three seasons so we are expecting and indeed looking forward to the release of a new jersey for next season.

However some don't know this and might go and purchase the current jersey from O'Neills and be left ending up have to fork out for the new jersey be it released this side of Christmas or in the new year

Following a change in sponsorship, we have another new jersey - our third jersey of 2012.

Wow that's a super looking jersey.

I don't like the star system in operation for GAA jerseys. That Meath one has way too many, it takes away from the glory of the Star.

You win one all ireland you get a star. 10 you have 2, 20 gets you 3, 30 for 5 and 40 for 5.

Like the system in Italian football. Much nicer I think.

In Italy a couple of teams use stars to represent each ten league titles they've won. Having one star for one All Ireland and two for ten All Irelands makes no sense.

Then adopt that system so. You need to win an 10 All Ireland's to get a star.

The way stars are thrown about on GAA jerseys at the moment cheapens the value of the star.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,188 ✭✭✭Justin10

Or maybe not use a star

or in increments of 5 - that would be great :)

That Armagh jersey is a seriously nice jersey.. and the meath one looks well too even though I thought it would look daft with a Tayto Park logo..

But the point is there is no value of the star in the GAA. It's just a decorative thing it has no significance what so ever.

New Meath and Armagh jerseys are class to be fair. I got an email today saying Cork jerseys 3 for 2. Why would you buy one never mind three when a new one is coming out soon. Tyrone will be sponsored by Hunky Dorys.
