Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Good social distancing being shown for most of this fight!

I always find womens mma to either be really good or really ****e. There is no middle ground.

Why isn't Esparza pushing in?? Catches Waterson and backs up right away

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,649 ✭✭✭Whelo79

Snoozefest! Step, step, pivot, step, step, punch air, punch air, step, step, jab, cross, kick, repeat for 4 minutes 30 seconds, Esparza tries takedown. Round ends.

Safety fighter, if the takedown isn't there it's back off thinking

I mean with 15 seconds left that's not a very good tactic to still be employing

Edit before result: May work for her but I think MW gets it

    This is Carla's fight

I agree with DC on the result there tbh

It's step, pause, pivot, pause, pivot, step, step

Not step, pause, pivot, pause, pivot, step, pause!

That's honestly up there with the dumbest fight IQ I've ever seen from a fighter. The hard job for the short fighter is to close the distance, but every time she done it she backed off twice as quick.

Michele won that clearly in my opinion.

I'm baffled but only watching UFC 2 years so feel like I still can't call decisions tbh - I felt it was Waterson's fight.

Ah well, couldn't care less anyway :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,649 ✭✭✭Whelo79

WOW! Neither fighter done much but I'm shocked by that result.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,056 ✭✭✭darced

I had Esparza there, Waterson landed nothing , no aggression, lots of nice moving about like a striker though.

Esparza - scorecards were a bit odd with a 30-27 for each fighter!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,256 ✭✭✭✭MrStuffins

    Combined age of 84 here.

I remember how Randy used to get hounded every second of the day when he was 40 about "Father Time". Seems normal to still be fighting at 40 now.

awful stuff after such a great fight, had a few quid on waterson pts....had no idea what way it went as I couldn't watch it all
kinda knocked the wind outa me

I've a feeling about oleinik here just from the weigh ins, his stand up ain't great and werdum has never been subbed and didn't look in great shape in my eyes

not expecting much in terms of excitement though, could go the distance

It's like a good story arc, don't want to climax too soon so need to slow it down in the middle.

I'm not understanding the attempt for getting to the back from olexi here, 3/4 times now

Werdum with second and third here?

  • Registered Users Posts: 25 itsGOOSEYx

Before result: Can't call - gonna go with Ole!

After result: Can't really complain imo

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,256 ✭✭✭✭MrStuffins

had I not seen the weigh ins I would have thought werdum was a cert

looked out of shape and ole in great shape

That was like two fat culchie auld lads having a punch-up outside coppers on a saturday night.

This should be a lot better.

Oleinik deserved that one, definitely a lesser Werdum showed up tonight.

    Really liking this no-crowd business.

Not sure how I'll feel come the two main fights but I'm enjoying the more "intimate" state of the fights. Hearing the thuds, the corners etc.

Exactly. Hate the constant "woos" from the crowd.

Well I sure don't miss that fupping "wooing" crap that so many US crowds seem to love so much.

i feel the crowd is badly missed, that price vs luque fight was a barn burner.

I'm also thinking do the fighters react in the same way they would in the gym setting, in regards there relaxation temperament?
