Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sorry for the absence, was building up a few rolls to get dev at one time plus uni work in the way.

Was given a Golden Half by someone after my Agat18k broke - I still prefer my old camera.

    Aga vista 200 I think.

Poor gull got run over right beside us so we decided to put him the water instead of a bin.

where's the crack? in the pressure plate?

where's the crack? in the pressure plate?

I said the wrong phrase, more like a scratch on the lens of the camera it looks?
Not too fussed, I will use that camera still just for non arty snaps of friends etc.

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Arts Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 50,167 CMod ✭✭✭✭magicbastarder

if it was a scratch on the lens, it'd be much more out of focus than that, probably not even visible as a scratch on the neg.
could be a hair or fibre - interesting that it forms a near perfect corner to corner diagonal.

yeah it's weird. Likely to be a hair caught in the film gate, maybe something dragging out of the film canister and getting pulled across the gate against the film. Open the camera and check. I've never seen the like. On the other hand, if poor aul Cecil On Ice (or whatever his name is) ends up sliced in half by a descending door or something at some point we can safely ascribe the workings of the antichrist himself to the picture. Simples.

Looking through the rest of the images, the "scratch" is the exact same in all the images? I will check for any hair in the film gate or any protruding things scratching film as it winds? Then use a roll and hope whatever is wrong is fixed :D

Can you see it on the negative? Could be wherever you got them dev'd / scanned has a big ole hair sitting on their scan platen.

Ha, why did I not think to check the negatives

Just looked and the same "scratch" is on the negs.
However, I got 3 rolls developed at the same time and it only appears on 1 roll.

Curiouser and curiouser. Is it an actual scratch? or just look like part of the picture ? I'd say if it's only on one roll it was something that just got in when you were changing film and then fell out again next time.

Well, I can't tell if its a scratch on the negative or white space caused by say a thread blocking it.

If I remember correctly the one with the "scratch" was the last roll to be shot, so could be likely its a damn thread or something.

Will find out when I use her again!

11 July 1985 I did my last exam in Leeds

12 July 1985 I took a train down to London

13 July 1985, I headed over to Wembley with my trusty Olympus OM10 and Tamron Adaptall 200mm lens

Shortly before 7pm this guy entered stage right:

I bought a EOS 1N a week or so ago, first film camera in years. Following shot came off the first roll I shot. This is as it was developed. I have another version which is photoshopped and warmed up etc... but I thought it better to post the original. Taken up at Ticknock Sunday 5 Feb.
