Well half of my group are actually in the UK and I don't even know them all!

Alright boys its time! Good luck!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,383 ✭✭✭S.M.B.

The best thing about groups of 20+ is usually when one person gets in they can keep going back in and getting more.

    Best of luck all.

Decided to have a go at the coach tickets although I'd prefer general.

Got onto booking page and then onto the Bristol departures page but everytime I selected a time and hit buy tickets, it came up as not available.

Some heart taken from the fact that I got to the booking page.

    We go again Sunday!!

No joy for any of us either. Dreading more of the same on Sunday :(

    A complete con.

I got through to the selection page after twenty minutes. Every single selection I made was met with the message "The coach tickets selected must match the number of registrations" as if it was my fault, yet I'm registered solo and was only attempting to buy one return ticket, didn't care where from.

Same here!! Clearly 3 names showing but wouldn't let me select coaches!

Got Thursday morning tickets from Bristol. Need a f*cking drink now :)

Good luck on Sunday folks. And always remember the re-sale if you have no luck on Sunday. I've gotten tickets twice on the resale. Everyone assumes it'll never happen which puts many off even trying.

Fair play, nice one. There really is no better feeling.

No one I know got a sniff. Demand is bananas these days. Sunday will be chaos. Can't decide if being fresh or still pished/hungover like a mótherfcker is better.

In years gone by I would've poo pooed the idea of Thursday but those days are gone.

    Drake?

Hah, I know. The Oasis rumour EVERY damn year. Didn't see him last year but all the rumours were going around that Liam was gonna turn up at Noel's set for an unofficial reunion. The Other stage was MENTAL as everyone wanted to see. So about half way through the set Noel goes "You like Oasis?" Everyone loses their sh*t and he says "Yeah, this is from my new album" Assh0le. lol

Again, good luck all on Sunday.

Regarding the times: I personally didn't get the tickets this year (Did the last time) but AFAIKR I don't think you got the option to select a time.

No interest in either of them. I’m worried the the general sale is gonna be just as much of a nightmare.

Paul McCartney is second favourite behind the cure. Not sure if the contents of that link had changed since it was posted by it also says it there.

No the contents didnt change, or at least the Glasto story didnt. I only put the Cure and Madonna in my post here. The Blog is mine. I was looking at a few betting sites last night. I thought it was funny that they are fairly different lists, considering they are normally pretty close on these things. Its only novelty betting but still.

There were only 15k coach tickets on sale yesterday, there are 150k general admission tickets on Sunday morning so fingers crossed!

Family camping doesn't fill up as quick as some of the other prime areas, and in theory it should be a bit less congested, but you'll struggle to get a spot by midday Thursday I'd expect. There will be plenty of other quieter areas though and just ask the campsite crew as you get in the gate what areas are emptyish at that point. You'll have a longer walk to the Kidz Field though from anywhere else.

I've always gone on Thurs morning and have had no problems finding space near the bus drop off. No idea what family camping is like at that stage though.

Wicket Ground (2nd family camping field) will have lots of room on Thursday morning. Aim for Orange Carpark.

Those two are rumoured to be playing the legends slot, it's more than likely Kylie. No way Madonna plays without headlining. Can't see her being at the festival.

Jeez when was the last time Diana Ross performed live, it must be yonks ago and reckon this will be her retirement tour anyways.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

I agree. And if it proves true that The Cure and Paul McCartney re headlining I'd expect a newer act alongside them rather than Madonna. Kendrick Lamar must be a possibility.

Eagles also in England that weekend and free on the Saturday so maybe they'd do the ZZ Top slot from 2016?

Arctic monkeys and Stromzy look like favourites for that third slot.

The Eagles demand too much money for a headline slot let alone further down the bill.

Arctic Monkeys are nailed on I reckon and after all male headliners last year I think there'll definitely be one female next year. Emily Eavis is pretty much running the show now. No chance of Stormzy or Kenrick I don't think.

Stormzy - with just one album? Can't see it, but kudos for Glasto for believing in newer acts if it happens.
AMs - long-rumoured but a trio of The Cure, Macca & the Arctics would be as unadventurous as they'd ever had.
Eagles - many acts happy to drop their money demands for the exposure of a Glasto slot.

They said in 2017 they already had two headliners for 2020. Long been chasing Fleetwood Mac so I reckon that's one of them. With two women to the forefront.

Yeah more likely to be AM, The Cure and McCartney.

Could be subs of Stormzy, Lady Gaga and Liam Gallagher

Hopefully not. All will likely put in great sets but three returning headliners is not usual and a bit too conventional for Glasto. Has never happened before.

Have to agree, nothing controversial about those three, something for all ages. Hardly chance childish Gambino or shock horror, Eminem?

True, if ever there was a year they could get away with it, it's next year though.

They had Kanye in 2015 and I'm not sure they'll book another hip hop headliner so soon. I really think there'll definitely be one female too.

Isn't four years a fair gap though? Particularly for the most prominent music form of our era.
