Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So Dolores asked Phoebe to sort donations in the charity shop and take what she wants. That's not a good portrayal of a charity shop where a volunteer gets first dibs on donations!

That's always been the way charity shops operate!

Is there any point to Delores these days besides sticking her big nose in everyone elses business? She even sat down as Will was trying to connect with her daughter. I would have said "Ah here get out of it will you, im trying to have a private moment with my daughter". With all her millions, why doesn't she leave town and live in some Spanish villa and give us some space.

If I ever go into a spar it's with purpose. Like most other ppl. You go in to specifically get something. Except in spar carrigstown. People walk round aimlessly like they're sauntering round ikea waiting for something to catch their eye.

I actually thought it was the best bit of acting I've seen in fair city in years. No overacting ... The wife is a pretty decent actress and in turn doesn't make him look all that bad.

I'd have to agree - definitely made for better watching than Paul and Jane, Renee and Sharon etc having the exact same scene they've been having for weeks just in a slightly different location.

They’ve even brought Brexit into Fair city. Jeeze I can’t get away from it.

Also Goo eyes looks like Manix Flynn.

Yep, round of applause for Mairéad, very credible performance. She could give lessons to Snarler, Orla, Renee etc

Have to agree - it was quite a compelling performance from both actors. It was very natural.
Not the normal rushed, over acting we're used to.

It was really, really good. Like something straight out of a theatre play, I think that was a 12 minute continuous take or something.

Proper acting.....well done to the two of them and the writers.

Will really likes the wide open eyes staring in space or passed the person he’s talking too.

I was worried at one stage his eyes were so wide that an eyeball might pop out or we would see the first ever dislocated eye socket.

Then they'll do an article with a few Tweets saying fans are delighted.
I don't think the journalists watch it.

How else would we know a character has entered??

The whole thing of the door goes like:

2 characters have a chat about a third character.
    <squeeeeak>
Third character appears, just like that!

Or...a conversation is coming to a natural end between Decco and Charlotte. <squeeeeak>
Mondo appears, gives Decco an awkward look and goes to bar on his own.

    Repeat as above.

Wills wife is some desperate b*tch, he has been cheating on her since day one yet she takes all her aggression and sh*t out on poor Christiano and let’s her scumbag husband off with everything, I think Christiano has been hurt enough, he did nothing wrong in all this , was just another victim of Wills selfishness.

Good point. Christiano is the victim here and he needs to put his own self respect first and walk away from this scumbag who wants his cake and to eat it. He wants to keep his family and his bit on the side can drop everything when it suits him. Walk away Chris!

She seems to worry about what the neighbours in Cashel will say. I'd say the neighbours in Cashel put two and two together a long time ago.

What exactly is Will's job title.....mobile nurse ? He's on some money to keep two households going.

Hi all, brand new to Boards. I have lurked on this thread for years now (since Blackie Connors was in it I'm embarrassed to say) and finally decided to join ye all. I've been a fan of Fair City for years and years and it's fair to say I've enjoyed this thread 100 times more than the show itself - but sure that wouldn't be hard with some/all of the dire story lines and acting. So instead of screaming at the telly at the antics in Carrigstown from now on, I'm looking forward to rowing in with the gang here, if ye'll have me. Not v tech minded so hope I can get the hang of posting, quoting etc.

Blackie Connors was the name given by the FC boardsies to Tommy Dillon's 'brother'. The actor had played the part of Blackie in Glenroe! He also had the ould affair with the bould Judith, iirc.

    Steve Yates (Des Brennan #2)
    Jane Black (Jennifer Crosby)
    Caroline Canning (Fiona March-Black)
    Rose O'Brien (Mary Moran)

Welcome, Hatshep! Over the last few months, we've lost a lot of contributors, so it's nice to have the oppurnity to say hello to a new one. Even though some posters have stopped posting, I suspect they're still reading this thread, and that's good. Like it says in the song "Hotel California" you can check out, but you can never leave!

Every single episode of FC, despite Dublin having hundreds and hundreds of pubs, two characters who don't like each other inevitably end up shooting daggers in the outdoor area of The Station before sitting down in direct eye contact with each other. FFS go somewhere else!

Paul and Jane getting back together = ran out of ideas for Pauls character.

Will seems to scan every room he goes into with his eyes, it's a strange fluttery thing he does with his eyes...it's as if he's scouting around looking for somebody he doesn't want to see. Is there another vying for Will's affections out there....poor Christiano, I wouldn't trust that Will as far as I'd throw him.

Why the fook would Wills wife want him back.. ... "Doing it for their daughter" Can't see that being the reason, she's up to something,

  • Registered Users Posts: 168 ✭✭Hatshepsut

    Thanks for the welcome guys.

I thought I was going to sick up my dinner tonight when Jane got with Baldy AGAIN, ok so 24 years ago she was young and naive, 2 weeks ago she had a moment of weakness and was with him again but tonight was downright reckless and gross.
I don't understand why Calum is being so mean to Jane since he came back, talk about not giving her the time of day.
Why did Jane have a problem with Calum being interested in and wanting to see Tessa telling Paul during the week that she didn't want him saddled with a girl with a child - hello, wasn't she once a girl with a child and she went on to meet Glenn and marry him??? Pot/kettle much there Jane???
When Mairead found out about Will and he admitted to seeing (and the rest) loads of guys since they got together and they have a 16 year old daughter together, that's a lot of action- then why firstly did she not run screaming to an STI clinic to get checked out???? Just cos he's a nurse, tho it seems very part-time doesn't mean he might always have been so conscientious sexually.
Will someone please buy Will a razor and make him use it.
Considering Will rents with Dean in Dublin, has a home in Cashel and his wife doesn't seem to work, he obviously figured out what a tracker mortgage is after his bus ride that time, I still don't know how he finances it all though.
I'm not surprised Dean is angry all the time - not only can he not get 5 minutes peace at home with the love triangle in his face constantly, tonight he couldn't even enjoy a quiet drink in his local without being asked to take a hike so the two lovebirds could declare undying love for each other- sure he's driven demented from it all.
