Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Haven't seen this posted yet.

Which firms aren't doing it this year?

Seems the better question would be which firms are recruiting! The only applications I’ve seen open are Eversheds and Pinsent Masons. A&L aren’t partaking in the milkrounds this year.

I don't think William Fry will be doing Milkrounds either.

    AC and MHC are open.

I’m really surprised and worried that some of the big firms aren’t doing milkrounds. I thought given their size etc that they still be able to recruit trainees

It's surprising because the big firms often recruit years in advance, and the UK firms are recruiting strong.

Is the only way to apply to MHC through the summer internship? That’s all I can see

    Same here, that's a relief!

Eversheds were so quick with their PFOs I was expecting to hear back from some others by now - but nothing either!

  • Registered Users Posts: 98 ✭✭law987

    Dillon Eustace ringing!

Anyone heard anything back from Fieldfisher’s, Deloitte or RDJ yet? Haven’t got a Pinsent pfo yet or one from Eustace, but I also didn’t get a call from them either haha.

Did you get PFOs from them or interviews law487?

Interviews, 1st round over zoom next week

I was told by HR a few weeks ago that Pinsent Masons' 1st round would be 10/11 Nov, so it's getting short notice if they haven't told people yet, maybe they have tho

I wonder if DE is sending out PFOs I've heard nothing from them at all.

They were quick doing the interviews too! 2 days notice and only 1 round... Didn't get it. Had their whole process done by early last week

I haven’t heard anything from Dillon Eustace or ByrneWallace. Should I assume it’s a PFO or do firms hand out interviews in batches?

Haven't heard back from ByrneWallance, Pinsent Masons or RDJ. Heard back from Philip Lee - offered a 12 month contract/internship to be assessed for training contract in Dec 2021.
Was worrying about the others but good to know i'm in the same boat as the rest!! :)

I’m not quite sure what it actually stands for but I think it means a rejection letter/email

What did you submit as an example of recent written work? I never applied to Philip Lee because it's been a while since I done any academic writing and didn't know what to use.

Does anyone else get really disheartened everytime they get a PFO? I wish they weren't sending them out during the fe1s.

Anyone hear anything from Freshfields or Hayes?

Ya definitely! I don't think they realise they're on because they're holding interviews during them too and it's such a blow getting rejections during them

I sent a recent report I wrote about domestic abuse during Covid-19 and the Northern Ireland Courts, I also attached an essay I wrote during my third year of undergrad on political philosophy (graduated 2019 from Cambridge with a degree in History and Education if that helps)!

Yeah, just got PFO from Pinsent Masons :/

I got in contact with PM regarding the dates of the fe1s and how they clashed with the proposed assessment dates, so they definitely know they are on! I know it isn't their fault that the fe1s were pushed but its affecting my studying.

How long was your essay if you don't mind me asking? I read the brochure and it says 500 to 1000 but none of my previous essays are that length.

Not at all! I actually didn't see that on the brochure and sent an essay off that was 2,500 words... I applied and was offered an interview later that evening. I was really impressed with how they conducted the process.

They only offer training contracts to interns, I didn't know this and sent off an application for the training contract. Hope this helps!
