Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Out of curiousity do we HAVE to pick a tag team or just someone who was in a tag team?

Nope, just someone who held tag team gold in WWE. No requirement to pick a tag team :)

Shaggy needs to explain his King Kong Bundy pick. I cant remember him being drafted in years, let alone first round.

Very interesting first pick in Bundy, I am intrigued ShagNastii

Really really happy with those opening picks. Never had The Bulldogs before and hope I can do them justice

Nitro I think you’ll have to rejig your picks.

Bulldogs aren’t eligible in round one due to the stipulation.

    Needed to have headlined Wrestlemania.

They did. They headlined the Chicago portion of WrestleMania II

I even checked with Necro before making the pick

Yeah it's all good, they were part of the trifecta main event of Mania 2. Clever use of the stip.

I assume for R2 the tag team rule of no world champ still applies

So someone who held a title belt isn’t eligible or?

    Ready made feud. Great drafting

Great stips for those first 2 rounds, had plans but they went right out the window.

I know it’s too early to plan feuds, but the potential of HHH vs Cody is very juicy!

  • Registered Users Posts: 679 ✭✭✭daithi1989

Dont wanna be that guy.. But was Cody not a World Champ, and therefore not allowed as a Tag Team?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,482 ✭✭✭brianregan09

Nope not in WWE, TNA, NJPW or AEW

NWA only counts as far as when it became affiliated with TNA

  • Registered Users Posts: 303 ✭✭Uncle Walt

Dont think that NWA title counts post WCW unless the rule changed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,482 ✭✭✭brianregan09

Only place he won the WHC was with ROH

Ah I stopped reading the rules too early! As you were!

Bryan and Punk on the same roster, has that happened before?

Has Punk not held the world title for over a year, 6th longest reign?

I'm confused on round 2, how come some are picking a tag team and others are picking one person?

It's just a normal round, you can make a single or tag team pick (as long as it conforms to the rules) with the added stipulation that your pick (or picks) must have held tag team gold in the WWE.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,482 ✭✭✭brianregan09

The Stip is you have to pick someone who has won the tag team titles in wwe

if you pick a tag team , they can't have a world champion in them

Got it now, thanks. Hopefully have my pick in a while

I mean in the draft, it’s an excellent combo to get and one that I never thought someone would be able to get due to the popularity of both guys

I see...technically I could pick a proper tag team but split them out on my roster (assuming they weren't world champion).

Crossed wires, I meant from a valid pick POV, but brian has cleared that up for me above

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,482 ✭✭✭brianregan09

Yeah once you draft them you can do what ever you like with them

you can do literally anything you want with you picks, split them yourself on your show even

I'm not sure, I don't think it has any of the years I've taken part at least. Very happy with the combo

Sorry about that. That’s a great find Nitro. I flagged AJ for sure but entirely forgot about the multi arena nature of Mania 2.

Shows how Cody's stock has risen, got him and Goldie in rd4 last year and remember being very pleased that I jumped on that pick early then. May be bigger solo names but not many with as big potential to write for as characters and that goes for both guys

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,089 ✭✭✭wrestlemaniac

    Pick made, PM sent.

Delighted to add one half of one of the most influential tag teams of all time to the roster.
Nothing nailed down idea wise yet, but Hardy gives me a range of paths to go down.

Liking how some of the rosters are shaping up thus far, Bryan and Punk is tasty!

Ditto with Matt and Edge, and HHH and the Rhodes Bros is money waiting to be printed too

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,136 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

That's not forgetting Randy Savage and Eddie as well, only after noticing that!

Intrigued by Nitros picks though, Bulldogs and Pac is an interesting mix and could be brilliant

Now I hate to be that guy, but Nakamura is an IWGP champ, so can’t be drafted as part of a team

    My mistake

Assumed once Eddie was it was fine, but may have the draft order incorrect on that one

    will take him out!!

Happy to pick up Drew there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,576 ✭✭✭bennyl10

Does Drew fall into the same rule as Shin? or WWE counts not?

Sorry first time on the roundabout!

Drew works since he is being drafted by himself. The way the world title rule works with tag teams is that you cannot draft someone as a tag team if they won either the WWE, TNA, IWGP, WCW or NWA (Pre-TNA year) world title.

No worries! The world title rule can cause some confusion on the first go. Nothing worse though than picking a team only to discover someone won one of the belts for an obscure amount of time that flew under the radar!

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,136 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

Yeah TBC has covered it well, you can pick any singles star as long as they've won a tag belt in WWE, but if you're drafting a tag team you need to make sure:

    A) Both have won tag gold in WWE (for this round as per the stip)
    B) they fall under the tag team rule as per OP
    C) Neither have won one of the 'recognised' world titles (in draft terms anyways).
