Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Looks like another dose of wet coming up along the east coast!

Which I don't recall being forecast by Met Eireann although it does seem to be losing intensity in the past hour

Good start to the day in Dublin. Overcast but some sunshine breaking through. I'm not going to complain because it is far better than the weather we've had recently.

    double post sorry.

North Kildare, quite pleasant too with very light winds. Still overcast but quite bright with the sun visible through the cloud. I reckon it'll clear off in the next couple of hours. Expecting a heavy shower or two by mid afternoon so using the current calm weather to perform weed killer applications.

Some sunshine in West Clare and one of the warmest 13c I've ever felt.

Probably because it's been so cold the past few months.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,021 ✭✭✭Artane2002

Wet and foggy in Dublin now...

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,693 ✭✭✭SleetAndSnow

Pretty nice in Cork City. Some very dark clouds around, but sunny and warm which is a very nice feeling. Even the breeze is warm! 14.5 degrees. One of the warmest feeling yet.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,021 ✭✭✭Artane2002

The rain and fog have left overcast skies in their wake. 11C at the moment.

Up to 14.2c now (warmest of 2018 so far) and sunny in West Clare. Some very heavy showers around with dark skies in the near distance, however it's remained totally dry all morning and afternoon.

Lovely and sunny now at Grange after what has been a quiet, murky day.

Beautiful in South Wexford and mild

Heavy showers here all afternoon but I’ll take it as at least it’s not bloody freezing.

Nice bright and dry day in Castlebar, got up to 12C, surprised it did not pour rain as there were quite a lot of very dark clouds around at times, still have the windows open, first time this year at this hour I have been able to do that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,021 ✭✭✭Artane2002

I had a heavy shower at around 6:30 but other than that it's been fine since the fog and rain lifted.

Awful morning in tipp with heavy rain all morning

That's a bizarre looking band of rain on the radar!

Fairly narrow band heading due North from Cork into Tipp.

    Is it a streamer?

Looks like it's heading our way in Roscommon - hope to God it dies out soon!

We are sick of it here so hope it goes someplace besides here!

We sure as hell don't need it here either!

Any way we could divert it to Dublin??...sure they're always having water shortages :D

I'm on the coast In Cork underneath it. I woke up to heavy rain at half 6 and presumed it was a shower heading east. It hasn't stopped since! I was equally surprised to see on the radar that it was heading due north.

The only people I hear talking about good weather and gorgeous days are here the rest of the country is sick **** of this winter. We’ve had no good day here this year really.

Your location = rest of country location.

    Right.

No don't send it here! Send the rain to the sea where it disturbs no one! On another note, good start to the day in Dublin, some sunshine but a lot of clouds around. In Dublin we've had a few good days, February had a number of them (I'm talking about sunshine here). The last Sunday before the cold spell was brilliant. I think those in the South were plagued with clouds.

There are signs of nicer weather to come next week with more sunshine and warmer temperatures but since the wind would be an easterly, the temperature on the east coast would be pegged down a bit. Those on the east coast of England will really be suffering, with temperatures struggling there because of the cold SSTs and there would be plenty of cloud and mist. Yuck.

We have had some lovely days. Today has been warm and sunny and dry... West Mayo offshore and many like today.

That is the strangest rain pattern I’ve ever seen
Still holding dry here just about

One one or two things to do so hope it stays that way

I’d consider warm for early Spring to be 14 degrees or warmer. We’ve had no day here like that and any sunshine has been sporadic and not perlonged. It seems like we’ve had rain most days. I work widely in Munster and this is the experience of everyone I talk to. Farmers are at their wits end. I’m sitting in Kilkenny now and it’s raining.

You said this "The only people I hear talking about good weather and gorgeous days are here the rest of the country is sick **** of this winter. "

Maybe your location has gotten a bad dose of weather relative to other areas, or maybe we just have a better outlook and enjoy the little patches of good weather we do get.

Whatever it is, there's some contrast there.

On another note, a mild day here in West Clare, not much in the way of sunshine, and there was 2 quite heavy showers. Overall not a terrible day though, easy to get out and about.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,021 ✭✭✭Artane2002

A relatively ok day today in Dublin, one very light shower earlier. A bit of sunshine but mostly cloudy. Tbh I'm slightly disappointed at how the weekend went here, I expected more in the way of sunshine. Not much improvement for here in the reliable timeframe.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,709 ✭✭✭✭Cantona's Collars

Sunshine all day here in Wexford, about bloody time we had a full day of it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 933 ✭✭✭alentejo

In Terenure seemed to have several showers from around 1pm onwards. Seemed very much hit-and-miss today.!

Yet another dark and very wet day again, thought the weather was to improve,if anything its getting worse, ground is gone beyond saturation point at this stage

Lovely sunny morning here at Grange after what was a pretty mediocre though not terrible weekend.

On the whole, it's going to be a rather quiet week with the west seeing the best of any dry weather 'til the weekend. Chance of some showers today as well as a band of light rain pushing into the west for a time tonight lingering in the east 'til tomorrow. England & Wales have a washout of a day with this rain just clipping the east but elsewhere, dry with some sunny spells but on the whole, cloudy and temperatures fairly close to average for the time of year though feeling cool in any cloud and rain.

The weather has improved statistically wise and it will continue to do so gradually. The ECM ensembles as well as the GFS ensembles all show a southeasterly flow for next week with high pressure to the east bringing in scorcher conditions - see MT's forecast.

    No frost expected this week.
