Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wow really chucking it down snow wise here in Sligo - heaviest since the snow cold spell began I think.

The news at one referred to it as the weather crisis. Gerald Fleming said the front will stall in the south east with Kilkenny and Carlow getting most or something to that effect.

Good news is the thaw is still forecast.

I think for Dublin specifically we are looking at snow initially but gradually back to rainy sleety hail mix. Also hail showers could effect the coast here later tonight aswell. Im not expecting anything significant in this area really.

No, it went from rain to graupel and then snow.

Whatever snow/precipitation falls today in East and North leinster will be of snow. It is still freezing here in west dublin. - 2 in Csatleknock. However I feel that once again there will be rain for the South of the country..Cork, Waterford, Kerry, Clare and Limerick area although the prcipitation might not even get down that far judging by the radar.

    erratum: whatever PRECIPITATION not snow...

We had about 30m of lashing, 100% pure old fashioned atlantic rain here in Galway city, thankfully it has stopped now (more or less). No ppt is better than any rain.

Just heard it's snowing 'really badly' in Antrim town. Also BBC NI reporting heavy snow in around Derry.
Dark clouds are starting to gather over Belfast.
    Waiting patiently now.

OH has reported it is lashing rain in Strokestown in Roscommon at present

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 245 ✭✭Figuramatyi

That thin southern line of precipitation is all 100% rain.
A new patch appeared in NW of lake Corrib, around Leenane, I am hoping that it might have a little sleet, or maybe even mixed snow. It's movement direction is much less westernly than that of the first ppt band, it looks to move rather from the north now. We shall see!

Very cold air here, -3.0c the max at 1.50pm (highest since 9am) and currently falling away once more. -3.6c now despite the sunshine. Some damn cold air over eastern/central Ireland. Any precip that hits this airmass will be of snow.
