Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

38 here, 4 kids(all girls) which explains why I'm never on here at the weekends despite my midweek obsession with the place, old enough to be Mr Prodston's da:eek:

I bet there was a scramble for One Direction tickets in your house on Saturday morning.

Watched the first 2 series as they came out and then spent the summer 12 months ago reading the books. I'm as much a nerd about Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire as I am about FPL, absolutely love them.

From what I've heard, sounds like a show i'll become addicted to :)
36 aswell glad to see theres a few others in that age profile.I always felt i really shouldnt be getting so worked up and wasting so much time posting about ff at my age.

Know what you mean, 39 F*** i'm old.... But have a feeling i'll still be getting worked up about football results and maybe even ff in another 39 years! Only working part time at the moment, so that's how I've ended up joining on here
Happy days of my liquid diet, Singha/Chang/beer Lao and Tom Yum soup for breakfast lunch and dinner, add to that the seaside buckets of Red bull and Vodka and it took my stomach a few months to recover.

Remember doing all of that, feels like a life time ago... doing the sums, Mr Prodston would have been 9, when I was wandering around Asia

Anybody care to recommend a brilliant sports book for me, I'm currently trying to fill a couple of shelves to complete my library, after that I can weed out the rubbish, when I die I would like for there to be a custody battle for my sports library. I'm currently reading a fascinating book about cycling in Rwanda, doesn't sound like the most obvious subject for a book but it's by the former editor and feature writer for the Observer Sports Monthly, anyone who remembers that publication will know of it's quality.

You've probably read it already, but The Damned United. Reads like a thriller plus a sports book.

Interesting to hear age of posters.

35 myself, the mrs and I expecting first baby in new year so not sure how FF will go this year!

How did ye all end up working for bookies in sunnier climes? Sounds all sexy and glamourous:) an image of James Bond in a Casino in Monaco comes to mind for some reason!

Congrats, have the one kid myself. The only positive for your FF prospects I can think of is you will definetly have more hours awake which you could potentially use to be thinking of FF. Think 3 in the morning bottle feeds while debating whether you should start brady or barkley.

Plus hours of fun while you're watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse or Fireman Sam.

Gives you plenty of time to let your thoughts drift to FF.

Not entirely a sports book but Id highly recommend Bounce by Matt Syed.

Speaking of bets, had this thread been started earlier I could have dropped a hint about a decent long term bet I have - Belgium to win the 2014 World Cup @100/1. Currently at 33's and will drop lower. I don't think they'll win it but should do well. I should be able to lay off for a decent profit.

Mirallas just set up Lukaku in the Everton game which reminded me how the Belgians are taking over the PL the last two years. In addition to the other two we have Kompany, Vermaelen, Vertonghen, Mignolet, Benteke, Hazard, De Bruyne, Fellaini, Dembele and Chadli. Any one of them would walk into our national team.

Don't want to take the OT thread off topic but in terms of betting they are one to watch!

30, haven't watched single episode of Breaking Bad, love cheese, one sprog and the oven is on for another.

Loving the FSA forum, tried the soccer forum for a while but found it more stressful that minding a child.
Football career cut short due to a bad dose of golf. You'll find me over there mainly.

Golf and Fantasy Football, pretty much my life since becoming a parent.
That is not a complaint :)

    Really love cheese.

Yeah I've seen you over in the golf alright, I've become quite a fan since the ryder cup in 2006, only 15/16 then bless my cotton socks :pac: Usually have a flutter in the majors and broke even for the season with Dufner in the US PGA, Stenson e/w too :)

Would love to pick it up in the future as the only golf I'v ever played is of the crazy variety

Yeah we have no tolerance for that stuff on here. I'm monitoring for fake team line-ups, false goal shouts and anything else trollish.

Even if you do it by accident (post a false starting XI because you picked it off Twitte), I'll be making sue that the poster knows to double check their source the next time.

It only taks a few bad apples, but I have a lovely ban hammer itching to be used :D

I've never seen an episode of Breaking Bad but will have to watch it. That said, I was told there's 60 to 70 episodes so it'll take a while. Game of Thrones and Boardwalk Empire are my two staple diets generally.

I watched Lost in the past (gave up around series 4 or 5 but then picked it up on box set and watched to the end) and, of course, The Sopranos.

Love/Hate isn't bad either for an RTE production.

On a sidenote, chocolate hob nobs are fantastic.

Game of Thrones is up there with the best i've read most of the boks also and the show really has done them justice, haven't started season 4 of Boardwalk Empire yet is it any use?

Fantasy baseball has killed me this year. This is my first week of the season being able to concentrate on the soccer now that it's ended. Had a very competitive league going in work that I finished 3rd in (all other employees in the league are in the States, some playing in the league for over 10 years!). There's a huge difference between 1 transfer a week and a weekend of games in FPL; and daily lineup changes for daily games (sometimes 2 games in a day) with potentially 10 adds per week in the baseball!

    Nope. Am 45.
    Married, 19 year old son.
Love cheese, I even grate extra cheese onto a pizza, heat it up, push the cheese off to the side, eat the pizza base and then eat the great big blob of cheese...yum, yum, yum.
Have waited for the last episode of Breaking Bad to be up on Netflix and will blitz season 5 in a sitting or two.

Havent' read any of the Game of Thrones books. Season 2 was almost over by the time I got into the show. I generally don't watch new shows myself. I wait until I hear they are good from friends and then watch the repeats or a box set. I'm up to date with Game of Thrones now though.

I only started Love/Hate last Christmas. Bought the three series box set and watched them over a few weeks.

With Boardwalk Empire, I haven't watched season 3 yet. I just finished watching Season 2 again which was repeated on Sky Atlantic. I was presuming they'd show Season 3 straight after it but they haven't yet and the repeat of Season 2 ended two weeks ago. I have heard that Season 3 isn't as good. I can't see Season 4 being shown over here for a while as I would think Sky Atlantic will repear all of Season 3 before they show it.
