Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

the density of ethanol. In Ireland a unit is 10g of alcohol. I should have divided by 1000 too.Where is that calculation coming forming? In particular the 0.789?
There was confusion about this with the minimum pricing stuff in the media, many were using UK units and so getting predicted prices wrong.

So, for a 750ml bottle of wine at 12% strength, you would derive its grams like this
750 x 0.12 x 0.789 = 71.01 grams
To then get the minimum price for that product, then you would multiply that figure of 71.01 by €0.10.
Thus, retailers would be obliged to charge at least €7.10 for this bottle of wine.
For a bottle of vodka, meanwhile, at 700ml and 37.5% volume, you would use the same method:
700 x 0.375 x 0.789 = 207.11 grams.
No matter what brand it is, this bottle of vodka would be required by law to cost at least €20.71 under the new minimum pricing laws.
And, again, the same would apply to a 500ml can of beer at 5% alcohol volume.
500 x 0.05 x 0.789 = 19.725 grams
Each can of beer would then be required to cost at least €1.97.0 -

Paddy 700mL €20 in Dunnes. I had a €5 off €20 voucher from last weekend's grocery shop (they started doing this 2 weeks ago - the €5 voucher is only valid for a few days though) so got it for €15...Scrap the cap!

the vouchers could/should be made into multi vouchers. So if you spend 25 you get a fiver off, but if you did spend 50 you get 10 off, or 15 off 75.The offers on spend and save vary depending on how much each person spends in that SuperValu,

Anyone know of any champagne offers on at the moment?
SuperValu have this brand for half price €23 until tomorrow close of play, I'd say if you are entertaining the international jet set brand snobs they wouldn't think much before they taste it but should be perfectly grand for your average drinker
