Rain Gauge Recommendation

Would anyone have any information on where I could get a rain gauge? Its for my father - he would get a great kick out of recording the rainfall as he already writes down on a work diary (he is farming) a comment on the weather (wet, dry, stormy ) I think he simple ones are just a graduated cylinder and that might do the…

I think he simple ones are just a graduated cylinder and that might do the job but if there was something a bit more sophisticated which might even give him readings on soil temperature and soil moisture deficits then that would also be useful.

I have both Automatic and manual, good for calibration purposes. I got the manual one sent over from the US a few years ago and good as the day I bought it and gets plenty of use here in Kerry!

I think the manual one is great to have if you are an outdoors kinda person, AWS is very handy to keep an eye especially at night and shows you the rain rate and handy for giving daily amounts if you are away for a time. Usually the better more reliable models are a bit dearer. Davis is a good name.
