Nine people have replied to the poll about the draft time and date. Only Syferus, Boccy and Spongey left. I'll leave it open until Sunday evening, by Monday we need to have a draft time confirmed.

Sorry, forgot about that poll, just voted

Just a thought...with two people wanting in, is it possible to go to 14 teams? Tbh, I think I'd prefer that over 12.

Personally I prefer the 12 team format. Most of us are already in 16 team Boards leagues, I like the fact that a 12 team league provides a bit of variety.

Draft poll is now closed. There were two joint most popular times, 10pm on Tuesday the 27th, and 10pm on Wednesday the 28th, both with 10 votes out of 11.

I think we can agree that the closer the draft is to the start of the season the better, there is more of a chance that we can have info about injuries, depth charts, etc. With that in mind the PPR league draft this year is at 10pm on Wednesday August 28th. Hope we can all make it.

Draft on Wednesday, looking forward to it.

Question about waivers...I think it was set to be processed at 4am or something last year. Is it possible to change this to a European-friendly time (e.g. 11pm Irish time)?

    Couple of reasons why...
At a time like 4am, it's a bit confusing what day it's on, e.g. if it says 4am, Wednesday, actually you have to make your waiver claims on Tuesday.

Other thing is I just think it would be more fun to be able to check the waiver results at a time when you're awake, instead of them being processed overnight, and finding out the next day.

Changing to 11pm Irish time shouldn't inconvenience US-based people either, as it would be 6pm ET there.

Not sure if it's a configurable option, but think it's worth changing if we could.

I had a look at this, it's not an option to change this on the League page. I think it is just a default setting for all ESPN leagues. Nothing I can do I'm afraid.

Should be there. This league last year was by far the worst for me. need to step it up

Picking 6th, which is where I wanted to be, prefer to be in the middle.

    1. C.J. Spiller, Buf RB
Easy pick, top ranked RB, wasn't that close.

    2. Brandon Marshall, Chi WR
Forte went a pick before, who I wanted, but happy enough with Marshall.

    3. Victor Cruz, NYG WR
    Another fairly straightforward pick.

    4. Lamar Miller, Mia RB
I'd planned to pick Gronk in round 4, but I liked Miller, and saw Gronk was about 12 places down, so said I'd risk getting him in the next round.

    5. Rob Gronkowski*, NE TE
    Happy days.

    6. Jordy Nelson, GB WR
First pick I wasn't sure about, other option was to go for a healthy TE (Vernon Davis).

    7. Andrew Luck, Ind QB
Happy with this one. I like watching Luck, and he was ranked well at this position.

    8. Rashard Mendenhall, Ari RB
Onto bench players now, but I haven't picked a healthy TE, and was expecting to pick a backup WR before RB. Mendenhall had fell a couple of rounds further than I thought, so took him.

    9. Ben Roethlisberger, Pit QB
Looks high for a backup QB. My needs at this point are starting TE and backup WR, but my targets for these (Bennett, Fleener, Hartline), I thought I could get further down.

    10. Martellus Bennett, Chi TE
Got my starting TE at last.

    11. Bears D/ST D/ST
Also high for a defense, but still thought I could get my other guys further down.

    12. Brian Hartline, Mia WR
    13. Jacquizz Rodgers, Atl RB
    14. Coby Fleener, Ind TE
    15. Robbie Gould, Chi K

Got the backups I wanted ok.

    Verdict:
Generally happy, taking a gamble with Gronk's health, but that was the plan. Hopefully get through the first few weeks, and if he gets healthy, I should have a strong team for 2nd half & playoffs.

    Possible problems:
Could have depth issues with the TE situation, and taking a DEF and backup QB relatively high.

Forgot the draft but I'm sure I auto-picked a great team. Checking now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,965 ✭✭✭Syferus

Oh, I was the #1 pick. Wonderful.

    1 Adrian Peterson, Min RB
    24 Peyton Manning, Den QB
    25 Frank Gore, SF RB
    48 Marques Colston, NO WR
    49 Mike Wallace, Mia WR
    72 DeAngelo Williams, Car RB
73 Robert Griffin III, Wsh QB
    96 Owen Daniels, Hou TE
    97 Seahawks D/ST D/ST
    120 Denarius Moore, Oak WR
    121 Ben Tate, Hou RB
    144 Malcom Floyd, SD WR
    145 Rueben Randle, NYG WR
    168 Justin Tucker, Bal K
    169 Joe Flacco, Bal QB

Pretty happy with that for an auto-pick draft, DeAngelo seems the only real dud in terms of draft position.

Offers on Peyton and RG3 are welcome, I'd probably be looking for a quality PPR receiver in exchange.

    STARTERS

    QB Matthew Stafford, Det QB

    RB Trent Richardson, Cle RB

    RB Ryan Mathews, SD RB

    RB/WR Reggie Wayne, Ind WR

WR Dez Bryant, Dal WR P

    WR Larry Fitzgerald, Ari WR

    TE Brandon Pettigrew, Det TE

    D/ST Ravens D/ST D/ST

    K David Akers, Det K P

    BENCH

    Bench Shane Vereen, NE RB

    Bench T.Y. Hilton, Ind WR

    Bench Emmanuel Sanders, Pit WR

Bench Bryce Brown, Phi RB P

    Bench Michael Vick, Phi QB

    Bench Roy Helu, Wsh RB

Pretty happy in general with that. Good depth I think. Happy with Vereen in the 7th.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,310 ✭✭✭✭Dodge

I had 7th pick. Happy with team

    (7) Jamaal Charles RB
Delighted with this. Thought about going with McCoy but wanted one of Charles, McCoy or Spiller
    (18) Matt Forte RB
    Again, delighted.
    (31) Randall Cobb WR
    (42) Danny Amendola WR

Both of these should be PPR monsters. Usual concerns about injuries
    (55) Colin Kaepernick QB
Maybe a bit of a reach but love his potential
    (66) Steve Johnson WR
    (79) Greg Jennings WR
    (90) Lance Moore WR

All have potential to finish top 20. Johnson is great in PPR
    (103) Zach Sudfeld TE
12th TE taken. I waited and was happy to take the gamble
    (114) Kenny Britt WR
No lack of talent. Number 1 receiver (on an admittedly bad team)
    (127) Knowshon Moreno RB
I think he'll start. Needed a 3rd RB and think he'll be OK for me
    (138) Patriots D/ST D/ST
Usually wait until 2nd last round for a DST but about 5/6 already taken and wanted the patriots for their start to the season (Bills & Jets)
    (151) Justin Blackmon WR
Worth a flyer even with 4 game suspension
    (162) Fred Davis TE
Solid starting TE that allows me gamble with Sudfeld
    (175) Greg Zuerlein K
    Whatevs...

I gambled a little tyhat I'd be able to get a couple of RBs late and they were picked before they dropped to me. lack of depth there is my only concern

Unlucky to lose with 136. Think you'll do ok with Kaepernick in your team, 400 yards passing yesterday, wow. I'm starting to regret not going after him harder in my leagues.

    Crazy.

In this league last year I had a tie in week 1. Roll on 2013 and yes, another tie.

Sorry about ignoring that trade TO, meant to get back to it after Sunday night. fwiw I probably wouldn't have accepted. Happy enough with Davis at TE.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,094 ✭✭✭TO.

Disaster week for me. Made roster changes at the last minute and I have 98 points on my fricking bench. Should have left it and gone with my gut. Down by 24 think to myself grand Welker and Thomas might bring that score down a bit as he had Brown. Wake up this morning to find Brown scored 40 fooking points. Fook 0-3 my worst start in a long time in fantasy and my worst league going right now. Need to start paying more attention to this now cant go 0-4 next week. Maybe Welker and Thomas will score 64 points for me tonight :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,310 ✭✭✭✭Dodge

Finally got a win on the board dspite posting my lowest total (by some distance) of the 3 weeks so far. A 4 from Kaepernick tried to give me that 0-3 start

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,310 ✭✭✭✭Dodge

I need 10 points from Dolphins TE Charles Clay tonight. Can't see it happening.

    My TE scoring this year
    Week 1 - 0
    Week 2 - 0
    Week 3 - 8

    ugh

A top 15 WR. Cameron and Thomas are ranked 2 and 3 right now and Gonzalez 16. After yesterday Cameron and Thomas will stay were they are and Gonzalez will bump up to Top 5

I'd say no chance. You have 3 TEs so great depth. But you can only play 1 any week. They might be worth that on their own, but nobody is going to stump up a top 15WR when you could have to drop 1. The weeks of multiple bye weeks are a coming. Roster places become tougher and tougher to hold on to.

You honestly think I would drop any of them? Plenty of average players on my team around them equal to the average players on the FA to fill those spots.

    Here is my team:

    Start
    Hoyer QB WK10
    Sproles RB WK 7
    Bell RB WK 9
    Bernard RB WK 12
    Welker WR WK 9
    Royal WR WK 8
    Cameron TE WK 10
    Cheifs DEF WK 10
    Hartley K WK 7
    Bench
    Jones-Drew WK 9
    Gonzalez TE WK 6
    Jeffrey WR WK 8
    Wright WR WK 8
    Schaub QB WK 8
    Thomas TE WK 9

No big issues with Bye Weeks really, week 8 might be a stickler but plenty of guys who can be dropped if needs be that are not Tight Ends. I will quite happily hold on to all 3 Tight Ends if no one wants them. No skin off my nose really.

Posted this on the Prem thread also. Hey lads there is a high chance of inactivity from me from this week for the next 3 weeks. Im going to try leave my team with an active enough roster but between a death a move stateside and a marriage and very little internet in between I could be missing a lot of time over the next 3 weeks. There is a chance I will sort my teams out but just a heads up.

Was just looking at the Standings, it's really tight this year, eight of the teams are at 3-3 or better, and within a game of the playoffs. Looks like being an interesting second half of the season, almost everyone still in the mix. (and I've already won more games this year than in all of last, so it's all a bonus from here on in..:).)

    http://games.espn.go.com/ffl/tools/draftrecap?leagueId=778149

Had a quick look at the draft. My top two picks have really worked out. The earliest "bust" for me is in Round 8 (and that wouldn't have been a starter). Moreno in the 11th looks a steal now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,306 ✭✭✭padraig_f

Going well (Gummi Bears), 5-2, with Gronkowski now back.

My draft picks and positional rankings:

    1. CJ Spiller RB (32nd)
    2. Brandon Marshall WR (4th)
    3. Victor Cruz WR (7th)
    4. Lamar Miller RB (39th)
    5. Rob Gronkowski TE (somewhere low)
    6. Jordi Nelson WR (10th)
    7. Andrew Luck QB (6th)
    8. Rashard Mendenhall RB (28th)
    9. Ben Roethlisberger QB (23rd)
    10. Martellus Bennett TE (7th)
    11. Bears DEF (10th)
    12. Brian Hartline WR (28th)

Missed on my RB picks (can never seem to get those right), but have done well on WRs. Andrew Luck has been good as well. Getting Martellus Bennett in the 10th round has been big to keep things going without Gronkowski. That gamble is looking good right now, Gronk had 114 receiving yards last week in his first game back.

Bit of a problem now with Cutler out, Marshall's numbers will probably come down, but hopefully not too much.

Won this week by a single point

In the Monday game Matt Forte got me 28 while 4thandforever got 2 from Boykin and 8 from Crosby.

    wow

Saw that, goes to show that you never know with fantasy football. 4thandforever was big favourite going into last night.

Spare a thought for Foxboro, second highest score in the league this week, and still lost. Ow!

  • Registered Users Posts: 180 ✭✭bit of red72

I have to say that was some turn around last night. Just goes to show what Aaron Rodgers means to Green Bay but Matt Forte earned his first round pick for you right there. Jared Boykin - one catch all night?!

I had been extremely lucky over the past weeks so it was overdue to turn around. I beat Slinger by two lucky points, beat Spongeys because Jay Cutler got hurt for him in the first quarter and the Dynamos as he left Caleb Sturgis as his kicker on a bye week. That run just couldn't continue....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,865 ✭✭✭Spongey1975

Things just not going right for me in this league. I'm the top points scorer but lie with a 4-5 record

Cecil Shorts or Josh Gordon (i know he's on a bye this week) are available to trade. Looking for a RB2

Mmmmmmm, "stat correction", I like the sound of that. I was about twenty points up and then Dalton hit Green for a TD, and you scored basically fifteen points on one play as you own both. Sickened to lose by one point. It's a real battle now for play off places.

I see you were offering Josh Gordon for trade a few weeks ago. Bet you´re glad no-one took you up on it... :)
