Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    This post has been deleted.

Primevideo.com is separate from Amazon.co.uk, so I could guess there's some issue there. Ask their support?

Lads I have an amazon Firestick and Amazon app installed(Andriod) combo.

I get the region issue when I use the stick but once the stick is started I can select any show on the phone and select watch on the Amazon Fire stick.

Good job, all included in my amazon prime account.

On my stick in the settings -> location I have the postcode BT3 64PE

Everything else is registered to the UK account.

Everything on my account is registered to Ireland. When i was troubleshooting the Fire Box an Amazon customer services rep did this for me.

Signed up. Content seems okay. Problem I have is I can't find any obvious way to watch it on TV, apart from casting from chrome in a PC (which I won't be doing).

I have an LG smart TV and a fire tv stick, you would think this should be easy..

    Any ideas anyone?

I got a lg tv few months back & it has the prime app on it. Had no problem setting it up & everything I've tried to watch has worked.

Have a look in the lg content store & see if the app is available to install. Obviously no need then for laptop, fire stick etc...

    Amazon Prime Video :-)

Not sure if there's differences between models but on mine when I go into the content store there is a premium section. Amazon app is in there alongside Netflix, YouTube etc...

The Amazon Prime Video app is now finally officially available on PS4 in Ireland.

I have a prime account on amazon.co.uk and used to watch on my Sony Bravia with the Amazon app via smart DNS.

When I "refresh internet content" on the Bravia without any UK DNS, the Amazon app disappears from selection.

Has anyone gotten the Irish prime video working with Sony Bravia? (Pre android TV)

I signed up for prime thinking oh great you get free movies and tv with it.
So i go an try out the movies.
Every damned movie I hit play on tells me i cant get it at my location.
I cant even filter out the ones i cant get and have to wait til after i try to play it.
I ended up going straight to showbox for the program after messing with amazon for too long and it was much quicker.
What a monumental waste of money.
At least Netflix doesnt make you try to play the movie before telling you to F off.
And prime is good for nothing else in Ireland either it turns out.

Are you using primevideo.com or trying to use the Amazon UK site?

Tried both. And the app on my phone too.
It's not worth the effort. It's a mess.

I'm using the Amazon app on my Samsung TV and the Amazon android app and 99% of things have to be paid for. I'll try primevideo.com on my NUC.

Is your tv originally an Irish one or is the country code set to Ireland or UK? OI had this problem as well (having moved over from he UK). Once I changed the country code and restarted the TV, various things which had previously been "not available in your region" were available. It's still a pisspoor selection compared to mainline Amazon Instant Video. Where else would I see Bosch though.

Prime video and Amazon prime are different. Amazon prime is for the UK and includes the Netflix type service. If you signed up for that you will have a handful of shows available while abroad.... Prime video is for Ireland and has the "full collection" if you have prime video you'll have a reasonable selection of movies. Hateful eight and the princess bride for example.

I have switched to prime video on the .co.uk site and still cannot get shows such as preacher or mr robot?

Any ideas, do i contact customer service?

I looked at prime video when it came out and the sel was terrible for Ireland.

I signed up about a month ago because the content has improved so much. Lots of 4k and hdr content. For the money I think it is a good service. You also have the benefit of prime prices on Amazon itself. Free postage too to parcel motel.

I'm sure they will increase the price in a year or so but pretty good value for money right now imo

No need to go near the Amazon site. Try prime video.com. When logging in it will bring you to Amazon. Use the username and password you always do and it will bring you straight Back. Try a couple apps if using a TV phone console etc.i have two apps for my Xbox and tv. There was a time when one was good for each and the other gave me the same issues you have

Tin Star is on US Amazon but it's made by Sky and exclusive to them in the countries they operate in, including Ireland.

Maybe your PC has a region glitch.

Feck it anyway, PC is in work so I can't watch it there. :D

    I've seen episodes 1 to 6 on another site but can't get 7 & 8.

What am I missing with Amazon prime video? Decided to sign up for the free trial yesterday and it seems like most of the stuff on it you can't even watch due to geographic restrictions and when I tried to buy an episode of a show it said I needed a UK credit card. Just about the only content that was viewable was their own self produced shows such as The Grand Tour and the like.

Try www.Primevideo.com, sounds like you either signed up for the UK version via Amazon.co.uk website or you're trying to view your Irish sub on the UK site, either way it's geo locked

Don't know if this is any benefit to anyone else.

I purchased the fire stick through the uk website which doesn't work for me.
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01ETRIFOW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I sent them an email this evening asking would they set it up for me and got this reply
We introduced a new fire stick Basic which is bought on Amazon.com that works in other countries.

This is the link to it. There's an option to select your country which shows Ireland. I'm not going to buy another one while I still have one.

It looks the same to me (except for the Alexa option).

Best you can do with a UK Fire Stick is install Prime Video app on your phone and cast content to the Fire Stick. Option is called "Play on TV".

Start a movie on your phone, top the screen, top right you'll see three dots, tap that, then "Watch on..."

Fire Stick needs to be powered on and both phone and Fire Stick need to be connected to the same WiFi.

Thanks for the reply but there's no option under the three dots... all it shows is zoom/next up/exit playback. I tried on my mobile (android) and fire kindle.

Following on from my email to Amazon last night, I asked would they give me a refund (I bought it beginning of October) or can they reset the one I have to the right settings.

They offered me a refund on the fire stick so that I can order the other through amazon.com. It's a bit stupid tbh, easier for them to reset I thought, then I'm not an expert on these things. :D

So if i want to watch Prime Video through an Alexa-enabled Fire Stick, my option is to mirror it from the phone? That sucks, and it'll never fly with the missus
I've already got a couple of Echos and Dots around the house - getting Alexa onto the TV was the point in getting the stick - getting a Basic model stripped of Alexa from the US is not an option. Not impressed with Amazon's geo-locking BS.

Signed up for the free trail and will be cancelling promtley. It's utter rubbish compared to others.
No exaggerating 90% of the shows I clicked into watch have "this title is not available in your current location" what's the f*cking point in having it listed then?
Nearly all of the Amazon original series are geo locked as well for Christ sake.
So what exactly am I paying for here?

Is this a free trail thing or is everyone else having this issue?

I can watch all of the amazon original series. Movie selection is not great, I wouldn't sign up for them at all.

TV series are the main things I will watch - atm, watching Vikings (series 1). Just finished Patriot.

    I don't get any geo-locked messages.

I'm currently paying €2.99 offer for 6 months which ends next month. You might have signed up for the free trail which is only available in the UK.

Sorted now, location was set wrong. Now ROI and working.
Although now I've seen how much stuff we don't get in compared to other regions.

Yeah it's good. Will definitely watch season 2.

    From RottenTomatoes
Series 1 sees an intelligence officer take an undercover assignment in Iran, but PTSD spells, incompetency in the federal government and the challenges of keeping his cover spark an onslaught of debacles that put the mission in danger.

which gives it a good summary (Iran is wrong in that he doesn't work in Iran but Luxembourg on pretense of business trips while trying to do his undercover assignment)
