Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

When did you order, mine was delivered to my address pal location yesterday, no idea how long An Post take for it to come here.
It could take a week, but who knows if they are back logged with black Friday parcels.

Last week, AddressPal took a week from receiving a package in the UK to ending up at the local post office, very slow.

Meanwhile, Parcel Wizard just delivered today (yes Saturday!) after receiving it in Northern Ireland yesterday!

The PW was the hub, but I'm not allowed open it until Christmas, booo.... :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 649 ✭✭✭Moreilly

Got my hub via parcel motel last night.

First thought was ... This is too small. It's tiny

But having used it I actually find the size perfect. I'm not ever going to sit and watch YouTube videos on this. I have a phone, a laptop, a chromecast and an iPad for that. It will be very handy for the kids to watch on though.

The screen is amazing. Photos look absurdly stunning.

Even a little thing like seeing what song is playing on Spotify makes a huge difference over the mini.

Sound seems comparable to the mini to me. I use a chromecast audio to a Sonos Play 5 so the sound is not a big deal to me.

This one is going in the living room but I'm already planning on getting one for the bedside locker

    Delighted so far
Quick question - can you specify a specific folder for the photos that it uses for the slideshow instead of all the photos on the google photos account?

Yes you have specify one or more albums, same as on chromecast. It won't just loop through all your photos

Same here, felt it was small but it’s perfect for most spots around house due to it being small, display makes all the difference being able to see what it thought you said. Would nearly be worth the 99£ Deal price for the google photos integration alone with the good quality screen.

Canceled again by Google despite using Revolut.

    Frustrating.

Did you use parcel motel? The address pal and revolut combo worked for me after parcel motel and my regular debit card order was cancelled

Yeah it was Parcel Motel both times. I gave up and ordered with Littlewoods instead so hopefully that one works out.

Stories now on the bargains thread of people getting their orders cancelled by Littlewoods.

Do Google actually want to sell these products?

    It’s farcical at this stage.

I don't think Google has authorised selling the Hub in Ireland yet.

Anyone get their order from Littlewoods dispatched?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,271 ✭✭✭CantGetNoSleep

Where else can you order from? Do the BT store deliver? I see they had a special on the Hub + Mini

I was in London yesterday and got one for myself, would have gotten a few more but I thought I could order online for almost the same price and not have to carry them home

  • Moderators, Motoring & Transport Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 22,986 Mod ✭✭✭✭bk

Well I got mine from the Google Store.

I used ParcelWizard + Revolut Card with the address on the Revolut card set to the same as my PW address, so that both billing and delivery address could all match.

I just ordered another from Currys via Parcel Wizard and Paypal payment so hope that works

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,161 ✭✭✭Dr_Colossus

Just ordered the hub from Littlewoods so will see if that goes through.
Might try pick up two of the minis for €60 from Currys during the weeks, decent price there.

Littlewoods order currently says is processing (not dispatched) but is supposed to arrive tomorrow?

Am in London today for the work and am wondering whether to just cancel and go and buy them in person assuming John Lewis Oxford Streer has then in stock.

  • Moderators, Technology & Internet Moderators Posts: 17,135 Mod ✭✭✭✭cherryghost

No it wont. When I 'just', I mean I ordered it Thursday evening. Arrived this morning :)

They had a lot of them on Saturday - place was crazy but they were restocking shelves quickly

I was going to cancel the Littlewoods order(no movement on it) and try google store again, this time with Parcel Wizard and Revolut as it seems to work for others but when i tried to cancel the Littlewoods order it wouldnt let me and said it was too late and that I could just refuse delivery when it arrives.

Hopefully thats a sign that the order will be completed.

I just want a Hub at his stage.:) I`m not really bothered who supplies it.

Had my first Google order cancelled. So I've ordered from Littlewoods. I'm afraid it will also be cancelled, so I've re-ordered from Google to Parcel Motel, using my credit card as normal.
The description showing up on statement is different this time for google than it was last week, so I could end up with 2 homes yet!!

    Will get cancelled

That's how I ordered mine when it was launched a few weeks back.

My littlewoods one is out for delivery. Happy Days

  • Moderators, Business & Finance Moderators Posts: 6,543 Mod ✭✭✭✭Sheep Shagger

Bought two in John Lewis Oxford Street and looks the the two ordered by Littlewoods are out for delivery.

As much as I'd like 4.......Littlewoods do free returns which I'll use but if anyone wants to buy them for €115 or whatever the exact amount was and can collect either in Dublin city centre or Dublin 18 let me know.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,562 ✭✭✭Snaga

Id take one off you for 115. I can pick up around Dub 18 this weekend. (Possibly earlier)

Just spent 3 days going through the Google Store support motions on my cancelled orders, they just responded saying they wont deliver to PO boxes, known mail forwarders or military locations.

integrates nicely with existing setup, ie will show my nest hello video stream when the doorbell is pushed, also good controls of the lights and heating in the house and can start my vacuum all from one control panel, plus i was looking for a digital photo frame for the kitchen (just uploaded 4500 photos to google photos!!) and the screen quality is supposed to be superb, so it all comes together nicely

Just got a notification from Littlewoods that mine is dispatched... Finally, easy in the end after all the Google store messing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,161 ✭✭✭Dr_Colossus

They're no longer listed on Littlewoods website which is strange. My order says it's been processed at supplier so we'll see.

If I remember correctly, deals on the Home and Mini ended around end of November last year

Mines the same. Delivery date changed from dec 5th to 7th.

Here’s hoping. Sick of ordering through Google and waiting for 24 hours before the order is cancelled.

Another option for everyone if they have a couple of hours to spare is to just reserve for collection in an Argos store in the North - pay when collecting.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,018 ✭✭✭✭adox

All my eggs are in the Littlewoods basket now. Order still processing. Gone back up in price everywhere now. If this one doesnt go through then I refuse to buy at the higher price, after all the messing around trying to get one.

I ordered to AddressPal and it has shipped. I checked the tracking and it says it's only part delivered though. I ordered a hub and a mini. If it's just the mini that shows up I'll be raging!

Hey I also ordered via address pal - it was received at the uk location on Friday afternoon - so Im hoping I get a message this week, I only ordered the Home and the delivery was confirmed in the UK.

I *think* address pal should be here by weeks end?

Last time I used AddressPal it took more then a week from arriving at their depot to the local post office!

My Home hub just arrived today via address pal, thats pretty fast.

-First impressions - wow it's small, but I like it and prefer it to another massive screen.
-The EQ light thing is amazing for what I do not think is an OLED screen, so nice, just goes to almost black with the clock very dim once lights go out.
-I have the sand colour one, nice.
-So nice to see what it thinks you are saying.
-So nice to see the actual color choices for bulbs, rather than saying and hoping a colour is understood.
    - I've managed to crash it three times, by asking (what the tutorial video suggest) "How do I cut a pineapple" - just frezzes then reboots, any one else?

    Liking it!

  • Subscribers Posts: 16,592 ✭✭✭✭copacetic

No crashes here as yet. Haven’t tried that command.

Mine arrived today too (via AddressPal) - very impressive little device. No issues so far, works very well.
