Removing brake dust from paintwork

    I had a rear brake issue over the Christmas period which resulted in nearly all the passenger side of the car getting covered in brake dust/grit. What's the best solution for getting this removed from the paintwork and can anyone recommend anyone around Tallaght or South Dublin?

    Korrosol might be better for what your require.

    Would iron Out or Iron X or any of the de-iron products work? I use them to great results with the same problem, albeit on wheels, but if its really fouled then a slight agitation and second application should work.

    I think you would be fine with spray on, leave until it turns purple, and rinse. You may need to repeat, but I wouldnt scrub it, risk of scratching the paint.

    I think the Iron Out / Iron X or similar will also do the trick.

    Yes I did it three times - sprayed on, left 5 minutes, rinsed off.
    There is still a feeling of a little bit of grit here and there when running my finger over the panels, but it's nothing like it was. Car looks normal again.

    If you can still feel grit then it's time to clay.

    Korrosol is a great product but in my opinion it's best used in between claying. You need contact contaminant removal as your main step at least twice a year and chemical removal in between.
