Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

You should get the book. It was really well done.

Also, went to bed last night at 2am......Yup I'm back playing Division again. I only expect that number to increase:pac:

I have the first book, half way through. I love reading but my free time is usually a choice of gaming or reading and the PS4 gives me angry looks when i pick up a book. I definitely plan on finishing it and picking up the sequel.

I saw i have 3 side quests left but they are hidden. Gonna google the **** out of them.

    DOWNLOAD & INSTALL SIZES
Xbox One: If you are performing a fresh digital installation, you can expect a 70-74 GB download. When performing a fresh install from The Division 2 base game disc, expect a 44 GB installation and an additional ~76 GB download afterwards. Players who have the latest Title Update 7 patch already installed can expect a ~60 GB download to be ready for Warlords of New York.

PlayStation 4: A fresh digital download will first install the base game at 44 GB and will then automatically patch to Title Update 8.1 with an additional 70-74 GB. Similarly, a fresh install from The Division 2 base game disc will first install 44 GB and requires an additional 70-74 GB download. Players who have the latest Title Update 7 patch already installed can expect a 14-16 GB download to be ready for Warlords of New York.

PC: A fresh install digitally or from the base game disc will prompt a 59.83 GB download to install Title Update 8.1. Players who have the latest Title Update 7 patch already installed can expect a 42 GB download to be ready for Warlords of New York.

Listed download sizes are estimates and can shift up until release due to ongoing optimization.

Approximate full installation size for all platforms is 75-80 GB.

Wow, read that wrong original and thought it was another 40gbs. The game is already over 100gbs on my ps4. An extra 17gb is grand .

Pc gets it 11am Monday, lucky out. Monday night midnight is too late for me so Tuesday night it is.

Wondering if anyone could kindly clear something up please!

I was planning on chasing some exotics tonight/tomorrow ahead of Warlords releasing, and finally got all parts and rhe blueprint for chatterbox. If I craft it now will I need to farm the three parts again to get a level 40 version when I get there, or can you craft from there on using lesser materials once you have crafted it once? If its the case that you need to get the three parts again I'm just going to hold off on crafting for now I think.

    don't use exotic parts
    do not
    No
    Nein
    Nah bud

    wait until you're level 40

    Haha, cheers gimli.

Was just about to hit craft last night on it and figured it might be a bad move. Cheers for confirming!

Do you just get exotic parts from breaking down exotic weapons or can you collect them in missions in order to craft an exotic item?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,558 ✭✭✭✭dreamers75

Got a chameleon from a bounty.

    112 hours played.

    1st exotic.......

    Lullaby doesnt count.

I've only ever got them from thrashing exotics

Played a whole bunch today. My mate who was still on world tier 3 re-installed the game this morning. Made it all the way up to and finished the Pentagon. You can really blow through this game quick when you know what you're doing.

actually you used to be able to farm the chatterbox parts (unless they changed it) they'd be random from certain faction crates around the City. These are different from the exotic parts you get from breaking down exotics. It can be grindy though

Did you try it on heroic? Challenging is bad enough although I think the regular one is worse. I have done a few heroic missions, two manned some of them and they can be brutal. Haven't tried this one.
I always remember doing the Russian consulate one in the first one with randoms, who dropped in and out. Took me 8 hours. Kind of thing you sit back after and think why the feck did I do that?

I did it on the Black Tusk invasion difficulty (whatever that is).

Only completed it because McLovin was with me. Tried it on my own 3 times and failed miserably at the last part over and over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

There's no respawn on the heroic difficulty, if your team dies it's back to the very beginning. That's the worst thing as often it can be a bs death that get you. It gets intense when you're the last alive.

Reads good on "paper" but not enough to convince me to part with €30. I've grown weary of looter shooters promising diamonds and delivering cubic zirconia.

I'm totally hyped for it, helped by my time away no doubt. Just getting new skills, guns and exotics some of which you just know will be absolutely broken makes it worthwhile.

Patch updates for expansion and title update 8
    https://forums.ubisoft.com/showthread.php/2193332

    Looking forward to this:

    Loot

    Reduced overall loot drop quantity.
Item power, quality and quantity now scales more strongly with difficulty.

Developer comment: This change is intended to make loot feel more meaningful. While you will see less loot drops overall the quality of items you acquire will be higher and you have the option to increase the quality by tackling harder challenges.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

It's one of the worst things about the game, getting 7 pieces of loot drop and the one you want is gear level 497.

  • Registered Users Posts: 709 ✭✭✭goon_magee

Seriously, seeing how much they have streamlined gear is ****ing fantastic. The main reason I gave up on playing was due to the absolute mess of RNG you were at the mercy of. The fact that I read the Gear 2.0 notes and fully understand how gear will actually work and how it can roll is already a huge improvement, to the point where I'm reading down through the notes and already theory crafting builds. That just wasn't possible, for me at least anyway, in year 1.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

Div 1 was relatively straightforward in that it was all about the gear set talents, these afforded you the best benefits and were relatively straightforward. You could go for a high end build with an exotic piece but more often than not the Gear Set was the way to go.
Div 2 was a lot more complex. It took ages to get to grips with. Not helped by the constant rounds of buff and nerfs.

I still dont understand the gear set and mods, hope it changes today.

Same - I have a ton of stuff and have no idea what I'm doing build wise.

Generally, I just equip the best I have in each area.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,449 ✭✭✭Rob2D

Gear changes sound good alright. In Div 1 you had to work quite hard for loot but at least you knew you were getting something worthwhile. And you immediately knew what to do with it. Div 2 was just all over the place.
How in the hell they thought new players were going to make sense of it at all I have no idea.

Having Keener's rogues take over the factions was a great idea. I often wondered how they were going to explain them still being around.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,905 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Speaking of factions, with the Corona Virus on our island, are you a div agent helping the people, a cleaner who thinks the unclean should be burned, a riker who is out to raise hell in the panic or an LMB who is out to take over the whole of Ireland under a new world order?

    Whichever gives the most XP.

You can only sit back and hope it's resolved soon because, as you well know, whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with the Cabal on Mars. So let's get to taking out their command, one by one. Valus Ta'aurc. From what I can gather, he commands the Siege Dancers from an Imperial Land Tank just outside of Rubicon. He's well protected, but with the right team, we can punch through those defenses, take this beast out, and break their grip on Freehold.

Game is running like **** for me on my One X since the patch, framerate is crawling and crazy screen tearing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

ok played about an hour of NY, it's great, dark, dank and foreboding. I have more questions than answers. Gear's gone to hell, all my mods are gone (still have 79 but the best ones which were in the gear are gone), first 2 gun drops were a green and a blue and were better than my best guns, everything is new and confusing. People are level 36 already?
I'm too tired for this now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 709 ✭✭✭goon_magee

Gear 2.0 is already massively refreshing. Being able to just look at a piece of gear and understand what it brings to the table is great, and into the bargain its already clear that gear rolls make much more sense now. Streamlining talents and attributes is going to be a god send.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,409 ✭✭✭✭gimli2112

it's jarring replacing your carefully and painstakingly farmed gear with greens and blues but yes, it is simpler and I think we'll be an improvement, once I get used to it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,905 ✭✭✭✭Zero-Cool

Gimli, when you say dark, do you mean literally as in Doom 3? I'm having awful brightness issues in DC as it is. Sometimes I'm in a dark room and i can only find my way out by shooting my gun to make light.

Totally, same feeling I used to get when I'd start a Destiny expansion and suddenly the last 12 months of my life were rendered worthless within the space of 5 or 6 green engrams dropping.

Definitely think the new system is an improvement, I actually think some people might find it too streamlined. For someone like myself though with the attention span of a goldfish, its exactly what I needed to enjoy the game

no dark as in creepy, some of the streets are very narrow and full of clutter, it feels claustrophobic. There's plenty of wide open spaces too.
I often find games too dark and turn the brightness well past recommended levels

Doom 3 was awful, I had to get a mod that sellotaped a torch to the guns

Awesome. Yeah, my brightness is turned up full in game. Gonna mess around with tv settings as ingame brightness can wash out some details.
