Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Think I have to buy tickets for her.

These gigs don't usually sell out though am I right?

Might hold on to see if she's announced for Mad Cool festival

Well New Order is sold out.
I think the main reason most of them dont sell out is they are on consecutive days and a lot of the same crowd would be target audience for them all. Who wants to go to 5 gigs in the same venue (or any venue) 5 nights in a row?

Anyone got any ideas/rumors who the rest of the announcements will be.

So far Janelle Monae 3rd and Paul Weller 4th and New order 7th.

Still have 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th to announce. Hopefully.

Yea def a better line up than last year imo. Fingers crossed for an Interpol or Weezer show added would be unreal.

Interpol announced 2 UK dates leading up to Glastonbury and have already announced a few festival dates for the summer

Would love if they introduced some multi ticket system, I'd def go to a couple of these gigs if costs allowed.

What are the chances of more New Order Tickets being released before the date? Missed out on them last month. :(

    agree with this so much.

If you had to pick 2 so far as the combi, which would you pick?

Foals and Janelle Monet for me.

Yea they are the ones id pick too , although they would prob need to announce the whole line up before those tickets go on sale.

I suppose they will make more money of single day tickets

Got tickets for Stereophonics on the 6th. Hoping they'll play a lot of the older stuff. Seeing as their 2nd album Performance and Cocktails is 20 years old this year!

Saw them last year for what must be the tenth time and they were incredible. Great mix of greatest hits and a handful of songs off their latest and second latest albums. Probably around 75% were greatest hits. Was brilliant.

    Incredibly good live band.

It's not just the trinity gigs though. I live in dublin and even at that the mid week gigs are a hassle. God love anyone who lives outside Dublin and has to travel/ book time off work. Obviously I know it depends on tour dates for bands etc and that everything cant be at the weekend but we really do seem to get a raw deal here.

Sorry for the rant. I will more than likely get tickets for Vampire Weekend I just wish it was a weekend night :)

    Aw ok I get you.

    Maximising profits.

Bands have a cheaper mid week rate. So you book them for cheap and just charge the normal (weekend) price.

I hate pricing of gigs in this country. UK is also high and I see Europe is starting to fall suit. It's what happens when ticketmaster/Live Nation essentially have a monopoly.

Vampire Weekend on the Monday and Foals on the Tuesday. Add two or three up and coming indie bands and that's a decent couple of days

Do they tend to do decent support slots at this? Or will it be the usual case of small Irish band tacked on if it sells well, medium Irish band if it doesn't?

The Vampire Weekend poster does say 'tour, with special guests' so maybe someone decent? The American leg of the tour has Angelique Kidjo, Chicano Batman, Christone 'Kingfish' Ingram, Despot, Richard Pictures, Soccer Mommy and Tinariwen supporting at various shows.

I've only heard of the last two there TBH.

Because the promoters know they will sell well as Ireland is a very popular country for gigs.
They keep the weekend dates for the weaker markets .

it'll be somebody like LE Boom, When Young or another Irish up an coming band. A band that will compliment the main act.

Main thing is that they're cheap. I can't imagine there will be alot to spare from the reasonable ticket price/low capacity gig.

    .

Typically it's up and coming Irish, I definitely wouldn't expect anyone significant. In the past there's been All Tvvins, Fangclub, Little Hours, Wyvern Lingo but Frightened Rabbit and Circa Waves did support slots a couple years ago which is not too shabby.

Whats the experience at these gigs like? Good sound? Any chance of a food view if your 5ft 4? I know the crowd depends on the act.

We saw Vampire Weekend on our honeymoon in the Hollywood Bowl and it was exceptional, both them and the crowd. I'd love to see them again but money is tight and not sure it can be as good as what we've already experienced. In two minds about it basically.
