Welcome to Season 5 of the Boards PES 2019 League!

This is a thread to be used for the sole purpose of posting Fixtures & Results throughout the season. All other chat regarding the league shall remain in the original thread: PES 2019 - Boards League Thread

See webpage here for groups and fixtures: Boards PES League

There will be 3 games to be played each week. I will post these fixtures in this thread every Monday.

The rules for this league are fairly straight forward.
    1. The home team will create the match in the Online Friendlies Lobby and invite their opponent. Anyone having trouble with this, let me know.
    2. The home team is responsible for the match set up in terms of settings. Games are to be 12 minutes in length, time set to "Long", maximum of 3 substitutes and the choice of stadium and weather is at the home team's discretion.
    3. This shouldn't be an issue, but if a player quits the game while in a losing position, the match must be replayed with whatever time was left at the time of quitting.
    4. Of course, connection issues may come into play so the same will apply.
    5. If a game begins and is lagging from the beginning, both users can come to a mutual agreement to play again from the start at a different time. You don't have to let me know of this, just post the final result on the thread.
    6. Unsporting conduct is frowned upon so please refrain from hacking down someone when they are through on goal and you are the last man. We're all about Fair Play here :)
    7. Users are free to go Ultra Defensive and use advanced instructions as they see fit. It really doesn't make a huge difference in PES I feel.
    8. When defending a lead, please do not pass it around the back trying to waste time. This will make players lose interest in the league very quickly
    9. If you plan on being on holidays, post in the general chat thread and let your opponents know.
    10. If a user quits the league, walkovers will be given to all past and future opponents in the group.

    Group Format

Each team will play each other twice in the division. Their final placing in the division will result in the following:
    • Top 4 from each group will qualify for the PES Champions Cup.
    • Bottom 4 from each group have their own cup called the PES Shield. This will run in the exact same format as above.
    • Super Cup will be contested by the Champions Cup and Shield winners.

    Posting of Result

Results are to be posted by the home team. If you do not see your result after a week, please post it on the home teams behalf.
Results should be posted in the following format if possible:

    Gameweek 1

    Fiorentina (Colemania) 0-0 Fulham (KennyG192)

Then give a little 1 or 2 line match report underneath if you wish.

Please post ONLY results in this thread. All other chat stays in the main thread. It just helps for when I post up results.

So I think that's all that needs to be said. I hope everyone enjoys the league and may the best player win!

P.S. Could everyone please thank this post to show that you have read it and understand the rules

    Torino 2 benfica 2

Zaza with the opener as torino piled on the pressure. Some poor finishing from torino left it 1 nil at half time. Second half was a different story altogether with benfica equalizing through talisca on the break before taking the lead in the 77 minute through Jonas. Thankfully from my point of view a last minute equaliser as the right winger rose to head into the top corner salvaged a point. Could be a long season with Toronto.

    Good game osh

    Group B:
    Villarreal (az1234) 2 - 2 Leicester (meath77)

Leicester took an early lead through Maddison but goals from Cazorla and Bacca looked to have sealed the win. A late equaliser from Gray and then Iheanacho nearly snatched the winner in about the tenth minute of added time! A shocking miss from one of the Villarreal forwards in the first half too where he decided a bicycle kick from 2 yards out was the best option but went and buried it off the bar!

    Good game though Meath!

    Torino 2 west ham 2

West ham should have won this. 1 up after 10mins then 2 defensive howlers left torino2 1 up. West ham were not finished and should have won this but got an equaliser to gift me a point

    Group B:
    Villarreal (az1234) 3 - 6 Wolves (DamoK21)

Some mad game! Jota scored 4, Bacca score 3 and Jimenez scored 2 with Villarreal getting Funes Mori sent off in the first half, as if playing Damo with 11 wasn't though enough!

Wolves were always safe though, with a 3 goal advantage every time Villarreal's made a failed comeback attempt!

    West Ham 0 - 3 Fulham

    Poor start!
Probably a closer match than 3-0 But Kenneth still deserved to win here, goals from vietto, McDonald and cairney.

    West Ham 0 - 5 Torino
We played the 2nd leg here aswel, hopefully this is okay, makes sense to use the time when we're available.

Reggie was 5 star here, zaza on fire scoring 3, something's it feels like he has an extra man when I play him.

Completely played me off the park and into the dressing room and onto the bus home. Could have been 8+

    Wolves 7-1 Psv (danharps)

Wolves found themselves two nil up at half time after some early pressure. Lozano scored a screamer just after half time to bring PSV back into the game. Seems like they went all out attack to get the equaliser and I scored some goals near the end . good game Dan harsh scoreline

    Wolves 7- 4 Nantes(beastermac)

Absolutely crazy game here ! The big man Coulibally causing me problems throughout. Turning point of the game was when one of Nantes defenders froze on the ball and Jimenez slipped in to make it 4-3. Great game in which both teams went all guns blazing at each other ! I was lucky enough to come out on top in this one thanks to an on form Jimenez .

    Great game man

    Group A

    Fiorentina (Colemaniser) 1-3 Torino (Thegifted1dblin)

Good game this. Torino took the lead through a nice placed finish from Berenguer. Muriel equalised with a scissors kick lob. Berenguer would give torino the lead again before half time with a back post header.

Fiorentina tried to get into the game in the second half but couldn't get into the game. Zaza scored a lobbed header over Lafont who somehow ended up off his line and although Fiorentina had chances after that and piled on the pressure, they couldn't bag any more goals.

    Good game reggie

Never a 3-0 game but fair play to Porto. Niall took his chances and I didn't.

    Group A

Crystal Palace (nslattery) 4-4 Torino (Thegifted1dblin)

This game was absolutely bonkers in the 1st half. The game was level at 0-0 after 10 mins and by the 18th minute it was 2-2

Zaha was an absolute beast and caused so much damage in the 1st half.
The opening came on 11 minutes when Zaha got the ball on the left wing and jinked passed a couple of players to finish in the bottom corner, Belotti made it 1-1 on 14 mins with a powerful header.
Milivojevic made it 2-1 after some tidy work by Zaha but it was level 2 minutes later when Falque equalised.

Zaha got another on 21 mins and completed his hattrick after 33 mins to make it 4-2.

It stayed that way until Zaza got one back on 42 minutes.

The 2nd half was pretty one-sided with Torino going all out attack and Palace trying to hit on the break. There were a few offsides but eventually, Zaha got played through and 1-on-1 with the keeper tried to chip the keeper. It hits the bar and bounces back to Wickham I think who couldnt get his shot away.

That miss was to prove costly as on 94 mins with Torino all out attack got their deserevd equialiser through Izzo.

    Match Stats:

    Posession : 50% - 50%
    Shots on target : Palace 6 - Torino 13
    Saves: Palace 7 - Torino 2

Great game reggie and good luck rest of the league :)

    Div A

    (kingosh) benfica 5-2 ajax (planetpotter)

Started well this game with a goal shortly after kick off. Ajax pulled one back around 38 mins I believe and I got ahead again a few mins after that. Think it was 2-1 at half time. Might have been 2-2 either as Ajax did pull level again either first half or early second. But after that I got a few goals without reply to seal the win.

In fairness Ajax had some bad form arrows going into this game which probably made a difference.

    West Ham 1 - 2 Crystal Palace

End to end game, palace had plenty chances in the 1st half and took one nicely near the end to go in 1 up. Zaha made it 2 easy on into the 2nd half with a rocket of a shot.
Arnie pulled 1 back but that was it, West ham missed a sitter at the death.

    Gg bud

    PSV 0-4 Nantes

Similar story to the last game. Can't take my chances when they come. Well played.

Thank goodness I don't have to play again until next week because I think I'm getting worse.

    Nantes 6-3 Villarreal

Great game with goals flying In from the start. Villarreal went 1-0 and 2-1 up in the first half. The second half was the Coulibaly show as he managed to get 5 goals. Game was still close around 70 mins mark, great game AZ!

Posting this result from Tuesday night as Kenneth is too ashamed to do so :D

Muriel with 4 goals, 1 which was a beautiful unplanned flick into the corner. Simeone with the other.

Fulham not helped with the D form

    Leicester (Meath77) 0 - 2 Bournemouth (philamental)

I barely got a sniff of goal, long range shots. Well organised defence from Bournemouth. No excuse, could have played a 3 hour game and I wouldn't have scored against the defence

  • Registered Users Posts: 450 ✭✭Det Somerset

Bournemouth (philamental) 2 - 3 Real Betis (DavidJKennedy)

With the away side having skipped pre season and playing their first match together, Bournemouth were hoping to catch them cold. This proved to be the case when sloppy defending from an early corner resulted in King stabbing home. Betis grew into the game immediately after but it wasn't until they won the ball high up the pitch that Mandi was able to find the roof of the net late in the first half and the sides went in level at the break.

Bournemouth tried a formation change in the second half with some initial success but again Betis took control and eventually a deserved lead when Inui found the back of the net. The home side decided to go for it and were rewarded when King notched his second of the night with less than 10 mins to go and the result was suddenly and unexpectedly in the balance. Unshaken, Betis literally scored on their next attack to re-take the lead again with Inui finishing well on the break and sealing a first victory for new first team coach DavidJKennedy.

Bournemouth manager, Philamental was later found complaining to reporters about how unfair it was for his team to play a second match immediately after they beat Leicester while Betis players were fresh. He sulked away after being informed it was a video game and players are back to full fitness after every game is played.

    Gameweek

    Wolves 2-1Real Betis

Great game this an in form Jota would strike first, Then there was a great tussle till around the 70th minute when Dave would find a deserved equaliser. Not much between the teams but Neves would fire in a free kick at the death for Wolves to steal it.Great game man some great stuff played

  • Registered Users Posts: 450 ✭✭Det Somerset

EDIT: Whoops! Forgot to post the bloody scoreline! lol

    Bournemouth (philamental) 1 - 4 Porto (niallym)

Bournemouth soundly beaten at home here with Porto comfortable and deserved winners. The home team can only have themselves to blame repeatedly giving the ball away in their own half and Porto punishing them with some impressive finishing.

Brahimi opened the scoring and then came a crucial sliding doors moment soon after when Wilson had a clear run at goal only for Casillas to get a hand to his shot. A minute later Aboubakar had an identical chance and made no mistake to double Porto's lead.

Fraser did break into the box to pull one back late in the first half but Porto restored their lead through Otavio after sloppy Bournemouth play to lead 3-1 at the break.

Bournemouth tried a different formation but the flow of the game didn't change much even if the goals dried up. Casillas had another wonder save when it looked like King couldn't miss, but Porto stayed comfortable and after more ****e defending Soares robbed Cook in the box and stabbed home from 6 yards to pile on the misery for Bournemouth

Will need to figure out how to rage quit for games like this in future. Anybody have any pointers on how best to do this? :p

    Ajax 1 - 2 Fiorentina

All eyes were on Ajax after the debacle from their last outing as they faced the reigning champions. This was truly end to end stuff, one that the neutrals could watch over and over again.

Both teams created chances in the early stages but it was the Viola who took the lead in the 38th minute - Muriel found his way past the defence onto the onrushing Onana, the Colombian went for a cheeky chip that Onana managed to paw away only for the ball to land into the path of Chiesa for an easy tap in.

The chances continued for both sides into the second half until an excellent through ball by Mirallas evaded the Ajax defence and Muriel calmly slotted home in the 59th minute.

Ajax had no choice but to push further forward and were rewarded almost immediately as a technically superb one-two between Ziyech and Neres on the box created space for the Morrocan to fire past the excellent Lafont.

Ajax continued to push for an equaliser and there were a few hairy moments for both sides but Fiorentina held on for a win that could have gone either way.

After the match M. Poirot had the following to say:

"I'm proud of my boys; we fought until the end and on another day would have got a well deserved point"

When asked about the t-shirt he was wearing, on which was emblazened OSH IS A REALLY SWELL GUY, he merely muttered: "That would be an ecumenical matter" before storming out of the press room.

When opposition manager Cole was asked for his opinion on the match he merely extended his thumb and forefinger and held them up to his forehead before saying: "I'm sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of me winning - again. Later bitchés!" and then swaggering off as multiple women in attendance clutched their vaginas and fainted.

    Fiorentina (Colemaniser) 3-3 Sevilla (pizzaburn85)

My bogey player every year, can't seem to beat this guy :pac:

Sevilla took the lead through Banega but Muriel pulled one back instantly. Mirallas put Fiorentina ahead in the second half but Sevilla levelled it in the 70th minute and then went ahead with 4 minutes to go. Fiorentina made a few substitutions to grab an equaliser and one of those subs, Gerson, scored with his first touch to finish off a lovely passing move.

    Good game

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,284 ✭✭✭stryker mcqueen

    Sevilla 2 benfica 1

1 up with my first shot which always helps , benfica should have equalised but hit the post and in typical fashion I scored a minute later , benfica got one back when I tried my new "dont dive in " method of defending and escorted salvio to my box and watched him bury it ! Second half could have scored a couple and could have conceded a couple .

I will take my 4 points tonight with a team on E form and a sea of downward red arrows throughout my squad
