How long did it take Murphy to see Masterson spoil that maul?

Connacht maul defence has been a problem all season.

Absolutely, it's as bad as you'll see at professional level.

Connacht need to seriously work on the maul defence its killing them against heavier sides losing 10/15 meters in half the line outs is just not gonna cut it.

De Allende taken down around the neck clearly there

Surprised that was left go..DDA had arms around his neck in that tackle

I think he is generally a very fair referee but sometimes it’s like he is trying too hard to make sure he is not showing any Munster bias.

But after that TB penalty maybe he just preferred his time playing for Connaught

I think Murphy might have been on the opposite side and unsighted but TJ should have called it

Connacht bought that pen. Tackler nowhere the ball

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

    Beirne wasn’t slowing that.

Daly and Arnold need to start straightening their lines. Just drifting and making themselves vulnerable for a poach

And DeAllande was over the ball, should have been a turnover

Plus Deallende had the ball and Connacht didn’t release

Super defence, Farrell was great in those passages

Arnold trying a bit too hard.

All the usual stuff from Connacht week after a big win.

Knock ons, a yellow card, a kick out on the full, a botched line out, penalties etc

That has to be one of the harshest YC I’ve seen (well I didn’t because I missed it like most it seems). No idea how you can YC a player for collapsing a maul on the 22 when it’s the team’s first penalty!

    Was very harsh.

Connacht are getting nothing going through the middle. Need to be getting Carty kicking in behind.

That was never a maul, should have been called a tackle and penalty for Munster for not releasing

Quinn Roux will never be a popular player in Ireland but he's just excellent at the less flashy elements of the game. That was a superb turnover.

16 caps to his name at this stage and I couldn't begrudge him any of them. That's probably 16 more than most would have given him.

Ball needs to be quicker and cleaner from the pack. How slow its coming back means Munster wings can drop back as lone sets itself

That should be a penalty ?

Why? He was held up? Doesn’t matter if Roux is on the ground

Can't see either of these teams troubling leinster in the final.

Huge amount of work by Connacht to get into a scoring position but frustrating to come away with nothing. Chance here before half time all the same.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Arnold a mile off in midfield, even had to go back.

  • Registered Users Posts: 22,242 ✭✭✭✭Akrasia

After all that Munster are only 1 score ahead going into half time

Watched it back. The carrier never got to ground from what I can see.

Kevin O'Byrne And Beirne the two best performers that half.

Very cheap 3 points. Amateur stuff.
