To be fair the Aviva gets about 3 AIL games a year including the final. They aren't going to risk the pitch for a youths game. Rightly or wrongly.

Donybrook or Thomond Park would be nice.

Aviva doesnt even get about 3 AIL games but that doesnt mean they shouldnt be playing youths finals there.
But if not Aviva yes it should be one of the main provincial venues

Lansdowne and Wanderers each get a home game on a main pitch, that was part of the deal I thought.

Do both get 1? And has it happened each season?

Anyway squads for 18s and 19s should be named tomorrow?

That is my understanding on it anyway.

I know Wanderers played Greystones at home first game of the AIL season and I have a mate in Lansdowne who told me that before re the games on main pitch.

Yeah, Wanderers played Greystones first game of the season, and Lansdowne played Cork Con in October.

Has happened every season since the redevelopment I believe, and is generally done as the first home game of the season for each team where possible.

All of the Connacht players that were part of the Inter-pro winning side, were developed and have played for their clubs from mini rugby right up to U18.5 this season. Their clubs Ballinasloe, Buccaneers, Corinthians and Sligo should be acknowledged alongside their schools.

Same with Karl Martin who should be listed with Boyne beside his name. Great that the schools and clubs players are on the one international side but disgrace that the clubs arent listed as well.

    Ireland u18s lost 29-24

What did you think of the performance?

    Scrum was under pressure.

    Lineout was great.

Didn't think any of the backs were standouts and Cosgrove was not up to his usual standards.

Not great. Fought back well as game looked like it was going to be a hammering when it was 22-7.
