Thanks a million for posting this, I had no idea they offered this bargain!

Got the top of the range Dyson Cinetic Big Ball Animal Cylinder for €217.25 + €7 delivered via Parcel Motel Oversize.

It's €350 new from Currys which is an outlier, compared to the rest of the market. It's also €420 new from Dyson.ie...

I'm having a wild Friday night :pac:

Got a loan of the MILs Dyson DC59 and found it good and convenient, much better than dragging the Miele out to do a quick 2min runaround.

However, I was also wondering about how the likes of Vax and Hoover battery vacuums compare to the Dyson?

Is it worth the extra money? After all, the other brands have the same battery power and run time, and some are less than half price at present in sales.

Looks like a good price for the V8. Has anyone bought from this eBay site and any problems with parcel motel?

This whole thread is full of people who bought from it.
I’ve bought 2 of the V6 ones last year delivered with Parcel Motel Motel. It’s an oversized item so it’ll cost €7 for delivery.
    Parcel Wizard works fine too.

If you use ParcelWizard you don't have to worry about the parcel being oversized so it's just the standard delivery fee, €3.95 I think

Cheapest I’ve seen the V8 Absolute is €429 on www.redmondelectrical.ie

V8 has double the battery life, 40 minutes and has more suction power.

What about AddressPal for this item?

I have a ParcelMotel acct but nearest location is half an hour away whereas PO is just five minutes. I've never used Parcel Wizard.

Was eyeing the V8 in a local electrical shop where it will b €449 for Black Friday. The refurb is a lot less than that and of course one year guarantee vs two year.

I bought a VAX cordless last year and the suction was great at start but now terrible.

Would the V6 have similar issues as they age?

my V6 is still working great, in fact we couldn't resist upgrading to the V8 in this sale and will give the V6 to her mother!

No issues with suction, but the connector for the wand has cracked twice. Dyson replaced it immediately both times, the second replacing the container as well.
They said they’d replace the entire unit of it happened again.

Found them more impressive than Apple in terms of customer service. Looking around online, I couldn’t find any other mentions of it and they did say it was an odd one. It’s not as if the part was under stress when stored either.

Apparently same suction, longer battery life and a little heavier.

I had the V6 Total Clean for a week and I have the V8 Absolute for well over a year now. V8 is more powerful.

I use ours everyday and I find I don't have to pull out the large hoover for months on end.

No, I find thats the difference between paying the premium for the Dyson. It will still be sucking hard well after the Vax, Hoover brands have died a death.

We have a vax to and to maintain suction you have to really clean it out regulary and often.. someday will probably buy the dyson but have 3 cordless and one corded dyson at the moment so don't need another hoover

Just received the box. The hight could be problem as it is 73cm. Check Parcelmotel for sizes.

    Which carrier did you use?

AddressPal Post Office Collection service Max Dimensions: 72cm X 31cm X 25cm with a maximum weight of 20kg

If your parcel does not fit in a Parcel Motel locker, we will notify you and make alternative arrangements. The largest locker size is 41 × 38 × 64 cm. You can have your parcel delivered to the address registered to your Parcel Motel Account. There is an additional charge of €7.95 for home delivery. [I presume this is on top of the an extra charge for oversize parcel. I can't get their prices page to load.]

The box is 73 and other measurements are just under 20 and 30. I used parcelwizard.

Is it worth getting the Animal version over the normal V6? What does it come with extra?

I got the animal one last year as we have 3 big dogs.
The difference is the standard motorized head is bigger then the normal v6 model one and you also get a mini motorized head for pet hairs.
