    Anyone see today's u18 games?
Unfortunately because of work etc havent got to go into Limerick for the games at all this year

    Munster 17-5 up against Connacht.
Leinster beat Ulster 31-12 in Clubs so win title. If Munster Connacht stays same Munster second and Connacht third

In Schools. Leinster have to play Munster. If Leinster win they win title. If Munster do all 3 of provinces will be on 2 wins with IQ on 0 wins.

    U19s
Ulster 27 Connacht 28, Leinster 49 Munster 14 in Maynooth University

Leinster win interpro title. all others won a game each

    U18s clubs Leinster 1st, Munster 2nd, Connacht 3rd, Ulster 4th

    U18 schools Leinster 1st, Ulster 2nd, Munster 3rd, IQ 4th

Heard from friends at the 19s match, it sounded a tough game. Leinster noticeably better on scoreboard but two quick tries before and after half time just knocked Munster for six. Cosgrove kicked every conversion apparently from all over, Leinsters back 3 destroyed Munster.

South and West Munster leagues have started. East/North sides appear to be playing friendlies at the moment. 16/18s
younger ages have started in all regions.

    All Connacht leagues have began.
All Leinster leagues begin this weekend. Regional leagues were on until now

Players have all been told , but the official squad isn't going to be out until next week I think.

U18 Clubs team are going to Italy on the 28th of October , playing Italy on the 2nd of November.

Schools panel will be in a training camp during the same period.

unlikely to be a full squad named anywhere yet. Wait for a few weeks for clubs squad as they have test to play and you will see squad named for that

Just check clubs and schools social media and websites and you will see some names

most likely. Clubs u18s have been to Italy this time a year a few times now. Great the clubs and schools are combined but still vital a clubs only side gets an international each season

There was more clubs players eligible but are on the schools squad so didn't get selected for this team including Dylan Murphy from Nenagh. Some of these players will also be in clubs and schools and the schools squads for internationals later in season

There hasn't been a single official press release about the game/squad at all which is very poor form from the IRFU.

    Not even a teamsheet.

Ethan Coghlan from Ennis was the captain for the game.

they have the pick of the entire county and have really improved their coaching standards. Hopefully will see adult sides in club to progress and some players will get to academy/pro level soon.
Munster really need the big county towns in the province to do better. The biggest towns in the country dont have the best rugby teams at adult level by and large. It would be nice if Munster could change that...

4th year in a row having players at that level from Ennis, although 3 together is a new high.

Adult team is unbeaten this year so far - A number of the squad that won the Munster U18 Cup in 2017 are starting on the team and it's a fairly young squad now , so hopefully will start making upward progress.

The Club have set a goal of getting to Senior Status for 2023 (the Club centenary) which is ambitious but a good target to shoot for.
    What positions do they play?

    8,9 & 10

Conor Moloney is an 8 (although has played across the backrow for Munster)
Ethan Coghlan is Scrum-half , he was capped last year as well
    Tony Butler is Outhalf.

Also - Ennis U18.5 playing Ard Scoil Ris SCT this Saturday morning in Limerick which should be a very good game.

Kilrush, Senan's and Scariff have good picks as well. The big problem in Ennis for years was as soon as someone was good enough they went off to a club in Limerick, I think Richmond had 3 Ennis lads on their team when they were in the AIL, 1 of them captained them the year they got promoted and another captained them the year in the AIL. Saying that, I would imagine that the 3 lads selected for Ireland will either go into the academy or play for a senior club in Limerick.

Saying that the coaching has really picked up there, some of the folks there should be applauded, especially the youth officer. Munster Rugby have put in great structures as well though so it's a big team effort.

kilrush and Senans dont really and scariff dont either to large extent. Senans at least are a division 1 junior club but others are not and wont be ever really.

    That's certainly true at Youth/Underage.

None of the above field teams at all ages consistently, I'm not aware of Scariff fielding much beyond U13/U14 at any stage.

Both Kilrush and Senans have decent sides at u16 this year but they are very much the exception for them.

Scariff and Ennis are both Div3 whilst Senans are in Div 2 this year.

Sadly Kilrush no longer field an adult team.

good to see that. Hopefully club can keep them. Look to bandon as example or further back clonakilty who went senior and were able to flourish on back several under 16 and 18 sides who were provincial/all Ireland winning sides
Ennis may last longer at senior as they're closer to city for access to other players and for work prospects
That's a good goal and would be great for the sport if they did go up.
Also - Ennis U18.5 playing Ard Scoil Ris SCT this Saturday morning in Limerick which should be a very good game.
saw that earlier in the week. Will be very interesting to see how that goes.

scarriff have in past very occasionally fielded at older age groups and they did when Shane o Leary was at that age grade though most often at older ages any still playing either go into limerick or up to Nenagh to play.
Very much an exception for Kilrush. Quite often been issues with Kilrush playing away but they would play their home games at 16s/18s some years!

Shame kileush not fielding at adult level. Would be great to see it happening again!

Plenty provincial games at 16s/17s etc on over xmas break

Appears Irish 18s just picked two teams for that game but picked one side far stronger than the other and it wasnt actually A v B. Will be interesting to see how things change for the actual internationals in April...

Final Rounds of the Munster Cup this week end

At Under 18.5 Ennis, Nenagh and Cobh Pirates are leading the 3 groups and all are unbeaten so far

    Group 1
    TEAM PLD W D L PTS
    Ennis Red 4 4 0 0 16
    Abbeyfeale 4 3 0 1 12
    Bandon RFC 3 2 0 1 8
    Mallow 4 2 0 2 8
    Cork Con 3 0 0 3 0
    Carrick-on-Suir 4 0 0 4 0

Group 1 sees 2 big games this week-end , with Ennis travelling to Bandon and Mallow hosting Abbeyfeale. If Ennis win they qualify as group winners but if Bandon win and then win their delayed fixture against Cork Con, they would go through as group winners with Ennis in 2nd. If Ennis win though , 2nd/3rd could get get complicated as if Mallow also win there could be 3 teams on 12 points and each will have beaten the other so playoffs or draws out of a hat are a real possibility. However if Abbeyfeale win then they could finish level on points with Bandon but having won the head to head they would get 2nd place and a QF spot with Bandon going into the playoffs and Mallow missing out.

    Group 2
    TEAM PLD W D L PTS
    Cobh Pirates 4 4 0 0 16
    Highfield 4 3 0 1 12
    Skibbereen 4 2 0 2 8
    Midleton 4 2 0 2 8
    Bruff 4 1 0 3 4
    Killarney 4 0 0 4 0

Group 2 is a little clearer , Cobh are unbeaten and the top three teams are all playing the bottom 3 teams so if results go as expected it should see the table order remain as is with Cobh as winners , Highfield getting an away QF and Skib going into a draw/playoff for a QF spot

    Group 3
    TEAM PLD W D L PTS
    Nenagh Ormond 4 4 0 0 16
    Waterpark 4 3 0 1 12
    Sundays Well 4 3 0 1 12
    Muskerry 4 1 0 3 4
    Young Munster 4 1 0 3 4
    Listowel-Tralee 4 0 0 4 0

In Group 3 Nenagh can't be caught as they have won the head to heads against their challengers so they go through as Group winners regardless of their result this week-end. The big game this weekend is Waterpark vs. Sundays Well - The winner there getting the QF spot and the loser going into the draw/playoff for a QF place.

** The rules for QF qualifications are as follows.

3 Group winners get Home QF
2nd place teams go into a hat and 1st name out gets final home QF , other 2 get away QF
3rd place teams go into a hat and 1st name out gets an away QF , other 2 go into a play off for the final away QF spot.
