Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Whats the best way to get rid of tickets nowadays? I tried adverts and donedeal but the ads were taken down pretty quickly.

Viagogo looks a bit dodgy. Ive paper tickets so I have to deliver them to the buyer? They are for the Wales match on Saturday, so time is short.

I accidently took the insurance cover, but it seems they dont make it easy to get a refund via this route.

Where are your tickets for? what section..

    x2

Toutless is class, used it many times since 2013 for mostly GAA games but concerts as well.

Always genuine people on it, they don't allow anything above face value.

Is the supporters club worth buying into for 6N tickets?

No. It used to be but its now done by a ballot to all members (even ones who don't opt-in) for a presale code (not even tickets) and I only knew of a handful of people who got a code and then got tickets.

I agree, I didn't renew this year after not one of a group of us managed to get even a presale code never mind a ticket. I had always managed to get tickets in previous years until the ballot was brought in.

Cool, I'll just wait and hope for late release of tickets again, same as last year.

There's loads of ways to go to Paris, I've done it via Zurich in the past. Tunnel from UK, fly into regional city and train, fly from UK... Think outside the box

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,960 ✭✭✭blackwhite

EI have 5 extra flights on the Friday; and 4 extra back on Sunday

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,153 ✭✭✭PMC83

I've done this trip before, hold off on booking- the flights will come down in a week or two, always plenty of flights to Paris!

I can't remember the price but it was valentines weekend to boot! -it wasnt too bad though

Direct yeah but there's normally good deals via Franfurt (Luthansa) or smaller provincial airports in the UK (cheap connection flights with Ryanair).

If you want cheap flights to CDG you literally need to book the same day the fixtures come out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,201 ✭✭✭troyzer

€250 isn't that bad with Ryanair. Beauvais is a little out but not too bad.

I can't seem to buy tickets on the website. It keeps dumping me out when I try to checkout.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 937 ✭✭✭Kevski

I’ve booked flights to Brussels last weekend. It was €60 return to fly out on the Friday and back on the Tues. It takes just over two hours to get from Brussels Airport to Gare du Nord in Paris on the train so pretty substantial savings for relatively little inconvenience.

Maybe try this thread, its the one with people who are traveling https://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057836197&page=105

You could also try the likes of Killester travel or one of the package companies sometimes they have spares and will have people over there with their tours

    Not for the union.

And not to have to pay ticketbaster fees! More tickets seem to have been added today. Behind the posts for €40 (and no fees!) is a great price.

That site has no availabiltiy for the game tomorrow.

Does anyone know of any other options?

I have a ticket for the Japan game on Sunday that I am willing to swap or to pay for ticket for tomorrow.

There was a Facebook page where a giant swap meet up was planned. Think it was Friday afternoon so you've probably missed it now.

I know my friends got sorted so there is hope. Good luck

Any idea when 6N tickets go on sale? I was in the supporters club for last year but had no luck in the ballot for the England and France games. Haven’t heard anything yet about renewing or the ticket sales. Would be more hopeful of getting sorted this year with the extra game and not as high profile opposition.

An email is usually sent out late Nov, early Dec. If you haven't renewed I would do so, as they tend to lock renewals the week before the supporters allocation is released. That said last year was a bit of a disaster and it doesn't seem like many got tickets through the ballot at all.

Usually they will email you when you are due to renew, though I noticed that didnt happen this year, so worth checking

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,458 ✭✭✭kuang1

I imagine the hangover from the WC will manifest in some bit of a reduction in demand for tickets for the upcoming 6ns.

Combine that with a huge reduction in the members of the supporters club after last year's debacle, and that it's Scotland, Wales and Italy in Dublin this time, I think tickets won't be terribly difficult to get a hold of for anyone determined enough.

Haven't heard a peep from the Supporters Club since 31st August - not even sure when you are suppose to renew as it doesn't say anything about your renewal date anymore

I guess you are good to go then? I went to log in a few weeks ago and couldn't as my membership was expired. Never got an email about it though!

Id say they just want rid of the Supporters Club, there is likely enough demand now for tickets etc they can make more with less overhead and hassle without it.

  • Moderators, Business & Finance Moderators Posts: 6,543 Mod ✭✭✭✭Sheep Shagger

I know a bit late now but the Leinster STH ballot for 6N tickets closed last night.

Re the above about demand, think it will still be there as will it be for the November games at home in 2020 vs Australia, Japan and the world champions.

I got that feeling myself TBH, they closed the forum (though was largely out of use) and changed they way tickets were available.

I think the reality is if they don't have any tickets to sell through the supporters club, then the club itself becomes largely a waste of time for most members, and they would be aware of that fact. 50 quid a year for a paper thin scarf

Not sure what overheads would be involved in the supporters club. Surely well covered by 50e a head for the chance to buy tickets?

Your probably right, but I suspect they realise that if they have no tickets to sell, they can only charge people 50 quid yearly for a scarf for so long.

Even last year, members were kicking up about the amount of tickets actually available to the club. The club volunteered no info on this front and have also closed the forum, so its very hard to actually see if anybody got anything.

Welsh red supporter club amazing. Loads of information, you are harassed with invites to things. Pre match events. Tickets available and it’s half the price.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,499 ✭✭✭✭Exclamation Marc

I knew of one or two posters on here who got access to tickets last year and nobody else, not any of the four or five people I know who are in it personally got everything.

Sure its hit and miss whether they even send a welcome gift or renewal gift anymore.

Their treatment of existing members last year was atrocious and as others have said, it's essentially in wind down and you'd be mad to join it. The only benefit is potential access to tickets which you have to get lucky in an opt out ballot to even get near.

I must admit, after all all my complaining I did pay in again this year. Didn't get any tickets last year, but if its ballot this year again, it will be my last year in it.

It's not a bad idea. Was half thinking myself of doing the same to see if it is the de facto approach from now on, or if it was a one off because the bandwagon got too full last year. So you're not alone :)

Might throw them an email and see what the story is about renewing. Would definitely give it one more lash. As already pointed out demand should be down a bit this year.

Let us know if they reply to the email, in a similar boat, and have a feeling the supporters club might actually be worth a few tickets this year for reasons mentioned above.

So I got a reply to my e-mail. The supporters club still exists! Apparently the tickets will go on sale for supporters club members at some point in December.

Re renewals I was directed to email IRFUQueries@promotionalpayments.com. They told me automated e-mails are sent out to members shortly before their membership is due for renewal. They did warn that some people’s email account may block the e-mail re the renewal so check your junk mail. When they responded to my initial e-mail they just told me the renewal date for my account was 1st December so I’d imagine if anyone can’t find an e-mail just ask them and they can tell you.

Once there's still an allocation for the SC at least it's something.
