Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I found my favourite dress I'd mislaid for days, and my Dicentra "Lady in a bath" plant is coming up. The flowers look like pink and white heart shaped locket necklaces dangling from arching stems, it's a spectacular plant.

Took a mug of coffee outside and watched the sky and ocean and the cats playing... Light at the end of the tunnel and happy with it

    another " fixit" happy!

many months ago, a gale took off the outside flap of the letterbox. Since then the inner flap has rattled and I ran out of sticky tape to stick it down as else also a draft . Today new cat learned how to free it..

So I really had a good look... two minutes later I had picked 4 very thin twigs off the elderberry bush, pushed them in the holes on the flap and frame and HEY PRESTO!

If only all problems were so easily solved... But feeling ridiculously happy..

NB mail is left at the gate so the letterbox is not used .

Our musical is over! 6 nights to huge crowds and standing ovations. It's such a great feeling. Now I am happy that I can spend some time with my boyfriend because god love him, he might as well have been single for the last month!

It's been a tough time in the hb house following a family bereavement so it's really lovely to be catching up on the TH thread and to be writing a TH myself. I called in to the home place after work this evening and it was a bit like old times with all the banter at the supper table. The local paper has a Spot the Celebrity type photo competition and my Dad is this weeks celebrity (I use the term "celebrity" loosely as it's a very small place!) What has me TH is how such a silly thing has us all smiling. My Dad, who never likes a fuss is lapping it up while my Mum is acting like she's Jackie O! Also, there's a good chance that one of us may win the prize as we've bought so many copies of the paper and we're 100% sure of the answer!

I'm a glass half full kind of guy, so as annoyed as I was about my car battery being dead first thing this morning, and having to make alternative arrangements to get to work, I'm TH that my mate called round this evening and showed me how to jump start a car. He also loaned me his rechargeable battery until I get it checked out

Pancakes, pizza and I'll have a few ginger crunches later if I'm feeling frisky.

I went to the local café for a coffee, didn't even ask about pancakes as I assumed they wouldn't be doing gluten free. Barely sat down when the owner tells me about gluten free pancakes and all the toppings. I had three, and nearly ate the plate as well.

Reading posts about pancakes just reminded me I have batter in the fridge. Guess what's for supper :)

God, I love the internet. I bought several silk camis ('preloved' but basically new) in different pastel colours and none of them cost more than £12.00. All very high quality and designer made.
I'm looking forward to swanning around in liquid silk, staying cool in the summer heat. They also make a nice base layer in colder weather

Bit of talk about flight cancellations due to Covid-19 over in that thread and the unlikeliness of insurance covering it etc. Didn't want to post this there and go off topic but it reminded me of this:

A few years ago I was abroad and due to fly to another country as part of my trip but a bereavement at home meant I had to cut my holiday short and instead of flying to my second destination that day, fly home instead. I was extremely upset and I rang the airline JAT Airways (Serbian airline), to cancel my flight at the last minute. I had no travel insurance.

The lady on the call was so lovely and understanding and totally unexpectedly said 'how would you like your refund? Back to card you paid with?' I said yeah but was thinking it was a mistake. I had a full refund within 48 hours! No forms to fill in, nothing.

Then I had to go to a desk and book home with another airline and that lady was just lovely too. She assigned me a really good seat and made sure it was on the aisle so I could pop to the loo if I was very upset and needed a moment.

My wonderful internet connection has been a little erratic this week, It is a small local firm ( God bless you, Westnet!) and I told them way back they were amazing as the dish is on the north/ocean facing gable end wall of the old cottage and while I often cannot stand up there, it has never so much as flickered in all the gales.

When I was with digiweb before I came here the engineer knew the way to the house as it went off in heavy rain

Mu new server is inexpensive and 24/7 with no restrictions. ,..... ,

So I called them. Around noon. Got a phone message before 2 pm that it was fixed; transmitter? .. Made me very happy

A renaissance man entering my local, and sharing his broad knowledge accumulated from lifelong travels. Flatcaps of the world unite. I'm not in the best place right now, discussion of music & poetry immediately lifted my mood. As a failed scribe, Kipling and Keats took centre stage. Simplicity of sharing favourite music, and breaking into song. Tony Bennett, Sam Cooke & Edith Piaf by popular demand. Life is good my friend, life is good.

My drive to work this morning,
    Sunglasses? Check!
    Reggae playlist? Check!
Dancing as much as I can while safely operating my car? Check!
Being warm on a very cold morning? Check!

It feels like a bit of life has returned to the country the last two days, all we needed was a bit of sun and a break from the rain. Now if the cold could kindly fook right the fook off we might start seeing more smiles around the place. :D

I went for a ramble and I saw wild rabbits in their favourite field.Every spring I look out for them frolicking in the morning sun. There was one big cuddly one with a fluffy pompom of a tail that flashed as he lolloped along happily. Ahhhh so adorable.

Sitting in the car for lunch and I spot this jackdaw.
He kept taking grass and moss and was bringing it to the top of an old tree stump.
I don't know what he was doing but it looked interesting.

I wonder what the inside of a really good scavenger magpie's nest looks like. Assuming it's true that they collect shiny things?
Maybe that's where my 2 odd earrings, necklace, and bracelet are.

I'm far too old for the level of enjoyment I'm getting from the 'Ruin the Band Name' thread. The toilet and smutty humour has me chortling and snorting like a 12 year old reading rude words in a dictionary. A much needed, utterly childish laugh lifting my spirits.

I felt guilty putting the oven on to cook my vegan sausages rolls,
after a quick rummage I found a handful of other products that bake at much the same time and temp.

Th, I have made the best use of the space in the over(almost overcoming the two occasions I've burned my hands)
Th2, Items just needing to defrost and be heated on the night shifts.

Edit, all out of the oven now, Indian, Veggie, Vegan, Asian, all chilling in the fridge:P

I got these new headphones with something called "noise cancelling"

Maybe some here knew all about this and had it for years but it was new for me. Forgive the noob :)

I love it! I did a lot travelling by train over the weekend and it cuts out much of the background noise. Not all of it but enough to make a much more comfortable journey. I listened to my audiobook in peace

    Noise cancelling rocks!

TH at finding out there is a Ron Burgundy podcast in existence, fantastic news to get for me, I worship that fictitious man.

And then to find out there is an Alan Partridge podcast coming out next month? Even more fantastic news!
