By the time Paul Williams gets his hands on the story...

"The notorious Dublin criminal known as Firecracker, was behind a major disturbace this afternoon, in Dublin's northside, in an area controlled by Gerry "The Monk" Hutch. Police are looking for anyone who saw a BMW Avensis acting suspiciously in the area at the time."

A female relative of Gerry 'The Monk' Hutch is being provided with a private security escort to take her to and from work in the respected multi-national company where she is employed.

Probably because Gardai are expecting something but their Intel is sketchy so by placing checkpoints outside or near to 'players' houses they:
1 protect potential targets against attack
2 monitor them for traffic coming to and from in case they are planning attacks
3 create an uncomfortable presence (for planners or attackers)
4 cause a disruption for perpetrators! Obviously you guys will say it didn't help Eddie Hutch or Barr but I am not claiming it is the best tactic only that's this seems to be the tactic at this time!

It does not say a lot about the republican movement that one of their was murdered and there has been no strike back.

Quite simply the KC have inside knowledge of who what and when. They have the money and most certainly have a few cops paid off. Most garda take home approx 550 a week after tax which is quite low. The temptation for a quick buck would be hard to turn down.

The government have been absolutely useless on this matter from the getgo.

The reality is the KC will have more influence and control on towns and villages than the provsional movement ever had in the north.

Look at dundalk and Drogheda. .. both ruined by cocaine and gear.

Irish society is in the short term day 10 - 15 years completely ****ed. Not a place ideal for rearing a family particularly in working class areas.

Completely agree with the last paragraph.

It's turned into a cesspit with some amount of scumbags all over it for such a small country.

    Quite worrying.

Janeymac I think it was a lot worse in the 80's but that's just my own experience.

As for the Garda being tempted by brides because of their low salary i'd imagine that's quite tricky to pull off. Whereas when you're drug dealing, racketeering and running brothels it would be a lot easier to have a Garda compromised that you could pressure.

Ah but some brides could tempt anyone. Hard to blame them there.:D

and then drugs get legalised and controlled by the government, who undercut the scum on price, and it all goes away because they've no business to shoot people over.

Very very easy to be pulled off.

Especially when your dealing with a computer system 20 odd years old.

There is zero political will for change cause the ***** have not put a bullet in a person from the middle class yet.

    Remember veronica...now there's political will.

There will always be a ''New'' enterprise. I hear Counterfeiting is very rewarding if done on a Costa scale. You don't get much jail time for hooky Gucci's.

There might be more than the odd cop in the pocket.

Didn't the guy that's up on a murder charge get his bail conditions changed the other day to allow him go on holidays with his family to Spain.

That was a judge that granted that no? Thought the cops opposed it?

Why would they oppose it... in my opinion he will get whacked in spain

From hearld (extract)Garda DID opposed bail but cost of said high court application awarded against Evans!

A retrial was ordered for January 2017, and Mr Justice Michael Moriarty said "justice demands" that bail be granted to Evans until then.

He was granted bail under certain conditions but in last week's application had those conditions altered to allow him to travel abroad.

So the this dude still has or access a bit of money to afford high court bail applications

Will you please stop referring to the "New RA" as the republican movement, they have no alliances with any political party, they are not the PIRA that were fighting a war and have fcukall to do with past troubles in the north.

They are like the "new UVF", a bunch of jumped up teenagers that sell drugs and couldn't assassinate a bag of spuds without training.

Stop referring to them as the Republican movement, they're fcuking drug dealears, not guys that were trained in guerrilla warfare.

Exactly, so maybe the odd judge is in on the act too...
