Just listening to Pat Kenny, and the whole place (France that is) seems to be coming to a halt - trains, busses, flights, you name it. The unions have decided to try and **** up the biggest sporting event in the country since the 1998 World Cup.
Surely we should be supporting that type of thing here?

Marseilles is practically an outpost of Muslim North Africa. With that in mind I'm slightly surprised that UEFA thought it a good idea to base the England team there. Should have sent Ireland or Switzerland.

Marseille is France's crime capital. The fighting last night started after locals attacked England fans.

It will be interesting to see if they have the cajones to try it with the Russians.

In fairness the locals over there are vicious and always attack supporters from other nations.

They are of Algerian, moroccan etc descent.

They are notorious pickpockets too using mopeds to attack and rob and there has been numerous stabbings through the years of foreign innocent people.

Marseille fans rioted in the Netherlands last year, again against Rennes in March and also against Bordeaux in April.

I doubt these lads get the finer points of the geopolitical situation to be honest.

I cannot explain this but whereas I normally despise this type of English Soccer Supporter, I think you have to admire this chant. Or is it just me?

I see there are still some Neanderthal England football "fans" on the piss

They should be very careful what they wish for.

For what it's worth ACC Mark Roberts - head of football policing in England - confirmed in a statement that a group of about 70 youths approached the pub where the English fans had congregated. No issues before this apparently. Just for a bit of balance:)

And the two England fans arrested turns out to be one, the other being local.

And there was no damage to property, other than a chair broken over an England fan's head.

Same class of gob****e that try to stop black people from getting on a train.

I've seen a few videos of some chairs being flung about, but they look the patio furniture sort, so no damage I guess :)

    That chair was a martyr.

It is now in paradise with 72 cushions.

Well ISIS are not going to be beaten by liberal lefties and Greens.
Not by soccer supporters either, but there are too many people wincing at ISIS and it's refreshing to see them being called out every once in a while.
Pity BBC, CNN and The Guardian don't do the same.

I doubt that a load of pissed, flabby lads with crap tattoos and their tops off were making a profound statement on the current state of geopolitics.

They were just being obnoxious twats looking for a reaction in a city with a large Muslim population in a country that was subject to some rather terrible atrocities committed by ISIS in the recent past.

You don't beat ISIS with politics. Its obnoxious twats with guns that are going to beat ISIS.
You won't see an ISIS network going into a Jewish Deli in San Antonio, Texas and shooting everybody.

......and what has any of this got to do with a bit of a scrap outside a pub in Marseille?

Called out? They were chanting at a pub!
I doubt Mr al-Baghdadi was inside a pub in the south of france on a wednesday evening.

Isis was the dog in Downton Abbey.
So it is perfectly natural to saunter around shouting for Isis.

What's their problem with Islamic State? They invade places and slaughter civilians just like their beloved British army.
