    This is the biggest security operation carried out by the French authorities since the second world war and the threat of attack is extremely severe. They really don't need this nonsense from pissed up fools.

    After all the talk of the security threat , possibly because it really is defiant to ISIS and what ISIS stands for?

    At the moment no, unless you include air strikes, but no boots on the ground.

    Marseilles is practically an outpost of Muslim North Africa. With that in mind I'm slightly surprised that UEFA thought it a good idea to base the England team there. Should have sent Ireland or Switzerland.

    To be fair to England supporters, supporters from every country are going to be blind drunk for days on end over there, with supporters from a few countries getting into fights. The local hoods will always seek out England at these tournaments because of their reputation.

    Add the political aspect, and it'll snowball even if most of the supporters are OK.

    When the locations were announced Platini was in charge of UEFA. UEFA and FIFA hated England and their media because of what they were doing in trying to expose the corruption in football.
    So they put their match in Marseilles in the hope that there would be provocation, trouble and thus embarrass the english FA and distract the media from their UEFA/FIFA witchhunt.

    Isn't this the rematch from 98 ?

    From what I remember the police let the locals and the Tunisian fans have a good crack at the English fans before they waded in.

    I do agree basing the English near the likes of Marseille or Paris is more than a little stupid.


    Actually the headline that this is the France's biggest security operation since WWII doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.
    They got their ar**es kicked in that encounter.

    BTW I reckon any ISIS team would have a lot of Chopper this and Chopper thats on it.
    And it would be very ease to lose the head when playing them. :D

    Just listening to Pat Kenny, and the whole place (France that is) seems to be coming to a halt - trains, busses, flights, you name it. The unions have decided to try and **** up the biggest sporting event in the country since the 1998 World Cup.
