I don't care if they were worn by Beyoncé I would not want someone's second hand bikini how gross. Whoever bought her used swimwear needs to have a long hard look at themselves.

    LOL!!
I prefer this thread than Snapchat!!

I can't believe how quick she was to put stuff for sale up on Depop. I've never used it myself to buy or sell items, maybe it is quick and seamless. But she flew home yesterday and by last night she had stuff from her holidays up for sale! I could think of a million other things to do the day I return home and it takes me a day or two to get back to normality and catch up on things.

Did the blogger in question actually sell bikinis on Depop, I had a little nose there and I haven't seen any bikinis sold, just a few dresses, playsuits, kaftans and two-piece outfits.

I don't buy preworn clothing precisely because it's preworn. Logically thinking though something like that bought and washed should be cleaner than clothing tried in shops by I don't know how many people. And I shudder to think what hygienic conditions are in some rat infested sweatshop that clothing is made in. Anyway better not to think about these things.

Anyway while I could probably stomach buying used clothing, I can't imagine how people can wear shoes after someone else. You can't even wash those.

Think she is selling them privately from
What she has said... She is getting a lot of queries on Instagram re:dry cleaning! And won't give a real answer! She is completely in the wrong but trying to get out of it by giving long winded replies! Had to laugh she was going to block the person that started the whole drycleaning thing but decided to sent them love and rainbows or something instead!? No need for blocking the woman was just asking a question! Really shows how bloggers aren't able to deal with anything that shows they could be anything less then perfect!

Reading the comments on the bikini selling post - women really have to stop with this jealous/hater bullshít. If you want to be taken seriously as a woman with an objective opinion of the world then stop saying women only make comments because they are so vapid they are only capable of forming an opinion to be a bitch.

Did I misunderstand but did this blogger say that she only washes clothes if they had been worn for more than a few hours or if there was a stain it?

So if she wore something like a dress for two or three hours I'm Ibiza (I'm sweating here I'm Ireland!) That she would sell without washing?/ gross

I don't know what is worse. Blogger saying she can only wear items once cos she is a blogger or the fools who lap it up that she's selling her knickers.

That's the impression I got, which is frankly very unpleasant.

I regularly buy designer gear in charity shops and always ensure to wash/dry clean it before I wear it, but sending unwashed clothes in the post just reminds me of one thing and it's not my scene at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 856 ✭✭✭idunno78

I have a lot of spare time today so had a look at two different bloggers reviews! One of them not the one mention here a couple of people have recieved items with tan under the armpit! And two others have asked for the scent of the perfume on item. So from that can only assume she dosent wash them before sending them! You think they would have the decency to wash them first.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,112 ✭✭✭StripedBoxers

I don't know what blogger was selling used bikinis or knickers but I sure as hell wouldn't buy them anyway.

As for selling clothes that are unwashed, I have never done it, nor would I, its disgusting. It only takes a few days to wash and dry something. It stinks of laziness sending out unwashed items. Pure, solid laziness. No excuse for it, none at all.

I did once buy a top from eBay (not from a blogger) that had been worn and was sent to me unwashed, the smell was disgusting, it was like damp and sweat mixed together. Vile. Took four washes to get the smell out even then I was paranoid over it not being fully gone so brought it to a clothing bank to be recycled.

No. She said she washed (the Ibiza) clothes, but didn't dry-clean them.
She had previously said that all her depop orders are dry-cleaned, but it turns out that's not true.
I personally don't think dry-cleaning is necessary for all items. A regular wash will do for a lot of items. Like a €12 Penneys beach dress, would you be bothered?
But it was misleading to state all items are dry-cleaned.

I've actually unfollowed her on all social media just
now. So sick of the "poor me everyone is out to get me"- no, people just want honesty, especially if you're selling worn potentially dirty clothes!
    Rant over.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 856 ✭✭✭idunno78

Both photos about the drycleaning and bikinis have been deleted. She blocked the woman who asks the question and someone said how bad it was that she blocked her and then it got deleted. Just shows that she must have something to hide when she can't just give a decent answer. it's not that big of a deal if she just throws them in Washing machine! personally I think she made more of a drama about it then needed be! Would unfollow but like to see the new product releases and she does show quite a few compared to some other snapchat bloggers!

Did anyone notice that two bloggers from noticeably absent from a high profile Irish launch the other day? They have been fans of the tan for ages and were at previous launches and even have their own personalised tan mitt! They have been plugging a new Irish tan recently with one saying its the best Irish tan she ever tried.... Then she was missing from the launch 2 days later. This blogger even went to London with the brand not to long ago!

I don't think you need to be a genius to figure out that there is zero loyalty amongst bloggers/influencers... But it was an observation I made too.

Yea I noticed that myself about the Bloggers. Even the Cork blogger travelled up for it.

Anyone else disappointed with what she launched? Tanning Wipes are very 90's, I don't know anyone who uses them anymore. I didn't think the products were very exciting.

The woman launching them repeatedly said herself that she doesn't think wipes are great but her retailers have repeatedly told her that they're best sellers. She didn't seem too enthused with the idea of wipes herself and almost seemed apologetic about them. She's doing it to meet a demand even if she doesn't think they're great herself which is understandable.

I actually love tanning wipes – I used to use the Skin Deep tanning wipes until Penneys stopped stocking them. They give a really decent glow that doesn't fade or go blotchy. You just need to go over them with a glove before they dry in so I'm really keen to try the Cocoa Brown ones.

That blogger is getting a serious amount of milage out of her few days away.... It makes me appreciate the quality from the likes of Inthefrow and Buynowbloglater even more tbh.

I'd say something if it was 2-4 weeks, but 5 days? I've had hangovers that have lasted longer. I don't understand how every minute detail can/should be blogged. But if there's people that want to read it who am I to judge?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 444 ✭✭scarbouro

5 days away on a mediocre package holiday to Ibiza is hardly travel blog material! I went on to her page for a nosey with all the drama of her selling her used swimwear. The accommodation looked rough compared to other bloggers who blog/vlog about their trips. She's definitely milking it alright!

Yeah I actually think I'll try them. I like her tanning mousse so interested to see if the wipes will be good. Has anyone see the mitt for tanning your back? I'm in desperate need of one!

I never understood why the blogger who says they do not wear fake tan nor does sunbeds was affiliated with that Tanning brand. What's the point saying I love this tan bit don't wear it but friends do?

She would also need to be very careful with her skin whether the tan is natural or sunbeds as it looks extremely damaged. She's darker than people who naturally have dark skin

To be fair one of them was away for the event.

But the other is assoicated with a different brand that she used for her workshop now I think

I am disgusted by a blogger on snapchat tonight. She mentions how she's in London for a conference on something to do with psoriasis, mentions how so many Irish people suffer from it "probably from being all inbred" and then goes on to declare she must find out why it's so prominent in Ireland.

Before that snap I sat through another rant about how men are sex pests and men who are not are part of the problem too if they're not stopping their friends. And some nonsense about Muslims.

I'm disgusted she'd make comments like that on an autoimmune condition like that when she's representing the brand and doesnt have a clue what it's like to live with a condition like that. She was the only blogger I had left on social Media, but not after that comment

The word "inbred" was a joke, but it's to do with how Irish people have a high prevalence of a lot of gene-linked diseases (like CF and psoriasis) because we have a narrow gene pool. I wasn't making light of the condition. I'm here on a media advisory panel, not paid for by "a brand" but on a consulting basis, to discuss how better to publicise psoriasis and those dealing with it.

As for my "rant" - such a facile word and always bandied around at women with something to say - I'm sorry you failed to understand what I was saying. I was making a point about how Muslims don't deny the fact that there's a problem within Islam with fundamentalism, whereas a lot of men deny that there is a problem, within society, with rape culture. I hope that clarifies things for you.

I get why people want a forum to vent about bloggers, especially when some of them just block and delete, but I really don't get why you wouldn't have just snapped me directly if you were annoyed about the psoriasis remark - I make no secret of the fact that my snaps are always open and I get back to everyone.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,646 ✭✭✭✭qo2cj1dsne8y4k

Yeah maybe a good place to start with publicising it would be not insinuating people suffering with the condition are inbred.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 142 ✭✭onthemitch

What would you like to have happen here? I can't watch every single thing I say every single hour of the day so as not to offend anyone. I explained that the word inbred was used as a joke (although it's based on FACT: that Irish people have a small gene pool which gives us a higher rate per capita of genetically carried diseases) – and the only thing you have to say in response is a snark that harks right back to the same gripe.

I love social media – I love sharing and engaging with people, and I love how connected it makes us. But it's so incredibly exhausting knowing that people are hanging on your every word waiting for you to slip up.

(You're okay with my "rant" about Muslims and sex pests now though are you?)

I think you're over reacting here. It was tongue in cheek.

And regarding the Muslim thing, I do hope you're joking and that you agree with her. It's a very emotive topic and if you looked at her Twitter you'd see the howling abuse she's been getting.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 23,646 ✭✭✭✭qo2cj1dsne8y4k

This thread is for ranting about bloggers. I'm posting about why I've chosen to unfollow certain bloggers. I don't care if it was a joke or not, it wasn't funny and it was really offensive. I don't expect anything to happen here.
This isn't Questions and Answers on The Rosemary Show. It's why I had no interest in snapping you about it. I have no interest in discussing it with you. I have been a follower of yours for a long time now, until last night. I see something I don't like so I unfollow and post about it in this thread. No big deal.

I don't think most people think of "small gene pool" etc when they hear the term inbred. It's a serious condition and be it tongue in cheek or not it was inappropriate. I know in most workplaces you certainly do have to think about what you're saying, make sure it's measured, inoffensive etc. Why this isn't the case in the blogging world I have no idea.
Looks like the blogging bubble may finally be about to burst in any case given the amount of discontent around honesty etc that we have seen over the past 6 months or so.
