Oh dear god, is Kimmage now blaming drugs for Leicester's Premiership win!!?

Nearly relegated last season, to Champions this season? What's the secret? Lump it to the front man, and dilly ding, dilly dong? Fairly tale, indeed.

Just been listening back to yesterday's show, Paul Kimmage was about to read out a piece that Joe Brolly had written about being on the same tube as Milwall and West Ham supporters and it's been edited out of the podcast. Just before that, Joe Molloy was going on about the use of the "N" word in the article. Anyone know what the story was?

I don't think it was edited? I thought he just cut him off and told him to keep it to himself no?

I like Kimmage, but yesterday was a bit much, Brollyesque attention seeking rants...very entertaining but was a bit much at times.

Yeah, I don't think he ever went on to read anything from the column, just told people to go read it. Molloy thought the use of the n word was gratuitous and thought that Kimmage might have said it aloud had he gone any further.

Cheers. It was just at the end of part 1, and when I put on part 2 it sounded as if they'd jumped ahead.

Well Chelsea went from winning the league last year to a mid-table finish... So either they were on drugs last year, or took the wrong drugs this year... :P

    Hehe.

But you see that can be explained - their superstar footballers all played together last year, and realised this year the manager was a douche, so stopped playing for him.

Leicesters players went from being rubbish last year to world beaters this year. Like some sort of Disney film.

I've never heard a more well-behaved audience for a live broadcast of OTB. Have they turned off the beer taps or what??

It sounded like there were about 15 people there, including the 10 contestants for the quiz.

They made some balls up of the quiz however. Jesus at least do some prep re knowing the answers to the questions....like the ones you set yourself.....

I dont think you could get much quieter than the Rory McIlroy / Alex Ferguson interview the other night. The silence was only briefly interrupted by the sound of the audience bowing, and James Nesbitt kissing Alex Ferguson's posterior.

That was god awful radio. Not often I turn the radio off (hell I can even listen to Joe Duffy) but that was vomit inducing cringe.

At least Yates called it for what it was the next day. Nauseating. I listened up until about the third time I heard "Sir Alex" from that sycophant James Nesbitt. It didnt feel like an interview, it was more like This Is Your Life.

Nesbitt is a poor an interviewer as I've ever heard. Know it's not his profession but still

The introductions were so painful as well though. You would think an actor could at least get that bit right. It was just like he was reading the stuff straight off a card for the first time.

they're determined to go on about how good it was on the radio though, someone mentioned it today on how insightful it was. heard about 10 mins of it. nesbitt may have well been asking how many millilitres of milk rory puts on his weetabix. rory is a grand enough golfer, but is fairly mundane personality wise.

I dont blame Rory, as it was a charity do and I'm sure he would have rathered be anywhere else. I dont even blame OTB, as they didnt get to ask the questions. It would be more to do with who made the decision that OTB, as an objective sports show (and not a Man Utd Magazine radio station), should broadcast the interview live.

Imagine if you'd paid to go and listen to it though?

Was it open to the normal OTB fan though, or promoted on OTB? I was presuming that this was mainly for a) people who wanted to support Rory's charity or b) United fans.

    Doubt it - €70 (€60 early bird) a ticket.
Will food and beverages be available for purchase at the event?
No. No concessions will be available before, during or after the event.

In relation to Saturdays panel about post retirement for athletes, did anyone else think Ben Johnson almost cried at the end of Ger's initial questioning of him?

I also thought Nesbitt was an awful interviewer and introducer. It was funny that he got a mention on "Nesbitt Watch" over on Second Captains

There was no interaction between the guests at all, no idea why they had them on the same panel. Guys who had nothing to relate to in each other's stories. Good interviews but they should have been done separately, so as to maintain some sort of continuity in each story. It felt a bit like The Neverending Story, where there are breaks in the story the whole time.

    Hi,

I'm not sure this is the right place but I've got a spare ticket for tomorrow nights Euros buildup in Vicar Street with Kevin Moran and Marcel Desailly. It's on between 6 - 9.00. Anyone interested drop me a pm.

Another tour de force by Donny last night... eh. de. be... eh.. emm. and .. emmm.. eh. uh.. and.. . Could they not get him some training or something. Or get him to write out what he is going to say before going on air?

Is Donny the guy that does American sports?

Yup. I am very interested in a lot of US Sports (particularly basketball). US Murph from the old show was quite good across the board. Donnie/Donny is just awful.

I find myself listening to OTB a lot less lately, it's very hit and miss these days quality wise. Last night featured a pretty obscure feature on "real tennis". It was mildly interesting I guess, but they went a bot OTT on it.

One of things I've always liked about OTB is how well they covered Sports I may only have a passing interest in like the US sports features etc. but it's ALL reliant on the quality of the contributors. That Donnie fella just sounds odd. He brought up Donald Trump last night and a Republican convention (maybe I missed the relevance) but it sounded like the guy in Cleveland was thinking WTF?

    Brilliant show tonight.

Neil Lennon is gold. Sounds like he had a skinful but one of the most honest and smartest fellas in football.

    Lots of great stories.

Yeah, I was a bit worried about tuning in after the Alex Ferguson bootlick-fest the other week. But last night's show was very entertaining. Ger did well to bring Desailly back in to the conversation when he may have been struggling with the other's accents and the language.

Was very interesting to hear Souness' stories about Alex Ferguson.

I find it uncomfortable listening to his slot. I feel bad for him because I'm sure he's a nice guy but not everybody is suited to live broadcasting.

He's an idiot. He has no insight whatsoever. Was he just some American lad they met in a bar one night? I once heard him call for equal pay for women in in the World Cup. I wonder what his views on equal pay across the NBA and WNBA is?
