Like pheromones or catnip, aye. That or just look for the people furiously typing stuff on their phones and ignoring everyone else (people don't bring laptops anymore).

I'm a maybe. Been quite a while since an AH beers appearance.

After the date is decided upon the I'll stick up a few pub options by poll. I'll book an area in the chosen pub :)

2nd July is probably the best date. I won't make it but I think (unless there are gigs on that night too) that's the best out of those choices.

No point in having it on the 9th. 25th isn't great either.

But the 9th is the winning date. Will we just forget about that and have it on the 2nd?

It may not seem like the best choice of date, but it's posters choice regardless. You can't just ignore what people have voted for.

^ Can you host a load of attendees overnight, or secure reasonably priced hotel rooms for them?

Look at how close the poll is. A new poll which included the hotel price factor would probably give a significantly different result...

Just saying. I won't be there anyway.

Yeh less of the snottiness there love, it was me who tried to get people not to vote for the date with the ten thousand euro hotel rooms. Otherwise no one would have been any the wiser.

This is also why the polls should be public, so that people who change their minds can clearly be seen and the votes reallocated easily.

I'll be at The Stone Roses on 9th July, so the date doesn't suit me, I voted for another date, but there's **** all point in having a vote if you're going to ignore the results. Either pick a date at the start with no poll, or go with the result of the poll. You can't have a poll and then pick a date.

If necessary, have a new poll with the hotel information in it, but don't just completely ignore what the majority have voted for.

I won't be able to make it on the 9th wearing my assless Snickers trousers. :(

There is absolutely nothing I can do about that. Lots of people won't be able to go on the date that was chosen either. That's the way it rolls.

As for ignoring the date picked well no. That wasnt one of my better ideas :)

Maybe when choosing the venue put two dates up. The voted one and the venue and the cheaper one and the venue.

The venue is the easy part, getting the date right is the tricky bit.
Everyone can't be accomodated so it's best to go with the popular vote for date.
Then just pick a place that sells hooch.

But would the 9th be still the popular date if people knew about the hotels in advance? I voted the 9th but id change that vote now if I could and someone else further up thread said the same. You're right though you can't please everyone.

Just go with the 9th. And if us non dubs can't go then we shall have another one at some point.
It sucks but that's the way it is

This is the thing I was wondering about. How different would the poll look if people were aware that hotel prices for the 9th are nuts?

I await the wisdom of Mr Baps or one of his fellow Maesters :)

My wisdom only comes when I am gifted with an assortment of doughnuts.

But seriously, reset the poll and add in the description for the 9th that there are many popular donkey shows on the 9th that will impact accomodation prices.

We can add a big bolded bit of text to post #1 as well to say the poll has been reset due to a clerical error.

An auld box of Aungier Danger would go down well alright.

In my excitement I forgot to look at events happening on those dates :(

No need to be sorry fin, I was only pointing out the difficulty regarding suiting everyone :)
I think we'll leave the location and sort out the dates.

I say we reopen the poll and state the high accommodation prices for the 9th.

So we won't be starting from scratch just letting it run a bit longer but this time people will be fully aware.
