Prime shipping is great for items that you ship to mail services like ParcelMotel.

You could always get yourself a VPN service, although any decent VPN will cost you more than the 20 quid you saved in prime membership! VPN bargains always pop up on BA though, so keep an eye out.

Ah that's grand so, I already use one of those for iplayer, itv hub, etc.

I thought watching the content might have gone the way of dodo, like what Netflix did a few months back! :D

You only need a VPN to view prime movies, not for shipping.

Prime streaming is being offered to Irish members later this year.

This thread needs to be split like the Argos one; a thread for BA with no chat and another for the waffle.

Stop adding to the problem posting in the thread, if you have an issue with a post report the post. Warning issued.

In my eyes prime streaming for Ireland is discussion of a potential bargain.

Did I buy a lemon then?
I dont think it's a lemon... I pay for prime to get stuff shipped in 2-3 days paying only the Parcel Wizard fee (~€3 vs £10 for 2 day shipping on Amazon) vs having to spend at least £25 and products may take 7-10 day.
I also watch Amazon Video from here (with a workaround)
You also get early access to lightning sales and Amazon Family (if u have kids you get discounts on baby stuff).
Truth is you definitely dont get all the benefits of a UK user but if u use Amazon frequently (a couple of order a week for me)

My complaint with Prime is that the standard delivery has got worse. I bought a jacket in the warehouse sale a week ago & it still hasn't been shipped.

Amazon used to be really fast. I ordered two phones from a third party seller on Friday & they were in my PM on Monday.

I have another item that hasn't arrived yet after 2 weeks.

It's worth mentioning that there's currently a feedback thread and poll about these kinds of megathreads that have bargain posts mixed in amongst the general discussion.

Definitely weigh up whether it's a good deal for you or not. I've ordered two things from Amazon on Monday morning, one from Amazon and one fulfilled. Free delivery option and got them today. So I paid nothing and got it in 3 days, I personally think prime is too much hassle for what it cost, but it might suit you better.

Can I ask how you got the price to €340? I just went to order with free delivery to Dublin and it's coming in at €374.43

There is 1 left on the Warehouse deals (buying options under listed price) - comes in at €315 incl (free) delivery

Well, that's not exactly true. It depends on the type of ram, the operating system that will use the ram and accompanying hardware.
For example, the iPhone 6 has 1GB of ram.

For this tablet 512MB isn't too bad especially considering the whole tablet costs €28 and it's designed for kids.

you have no idea what are you talking about. unless you want use this tablet to watch youtube don't buy it. Amazon Fire would be a better choice budget wise. 2GB tablets are available since 2013 (Nexus), and this is today's standard

It's not, have bought a couple of these in the past couple of years, mainly for the kids and it's just about perfect for them, I can't fault it and have seen no lack of speed in the thing either.
I'm sure ity all depends on what you want to do with it but for Youtube, email etc and watching movies and basic games (flash) it's brilliant value for money.

    Hi all,

Just in case you haven't seen it, there's a poll being run in relation to the continued use of Megathreads such as this one. There appears to be a campaign to get rid of them so it's important that anyone who uses them, and wants them, votes. I missed the last one (as did many people I suspect) and people are using its results as an indicator of what people want.

The poll is here, get in and vote:

So 2GB is today's standard? The Fire has just 1GB of Ram and over double the price.

A Nexus with 2GB is way more expensive.

They are also tablets designed for totally different users. Obviously this is a kids tablet and isn't going to see heavy use.

I'm finding that lately when I add an item to my basket, the price of the item in my basket is between £1 and £2 more than what it's advertised as. Any once else finding that?

I had a chat with a CS person about it yesterday and they didn't seem to know, but suggested the price had just gone up since I put it in my basket, which it clearly had not because it was still showing at it's original price on the product page....This is also the 3rd or 4th time this has happened in my last 10 or so purchases, so I am eager to get to the bottom of it.

Thats because you are an Irish buyer, and vat @ 23% less the UK vat of 20% is applied to your purchase. The 3% difference is the €1 or €2 you refer to.

Yes. The Irish vat rate makes a big difference if you are buying an expensive item if it a small item then you can get around it by using parcel motel and pay the 20% vat. If your consience will allow it.
