This one is kinda neat. It's a Canon Prima Tele, it's not only switchable between half frame and full frame, masking the viewfinder appropriately, it ALSO has a dual lens. Dual lenses were popular before people had worked out how to put decent zooms into compacts. In this case you flip a switch and it goes from 35mm to 60mm, and the finder zooms as well :-D All win. Though of course it suffers from that bane of compacts, there's no way to turn off the flash

Never heard of one that can switch between half and full frame, (or arguable half is the original full frame etc.)
My friend has an amusing habit of black electric taping flash on hers, she only has auto compacts.

I have been looking to get better half frame recently, my Agat lovely to use but would like another that is less a toy camera.
Not till I fix my rollei and pentax and sell a few - my rule is 1 out means 1 in. :(

Cool, I've been meaning to get one for ages, but the Olympus Pen F models I was looking at were a little too pricey for the amount of use I'd get out of them.

    How much was the Canon?

I dunno, I think I picked it up as part of a job lot of compacts for about a tenner or something. The only compact I've ever paid more than €10 for was a couple of Nikon AF600s that I had to keep on buying because they're a mite delicate and I was going through one every few months for a bit.

Pen F / Pen Ft are sweet cameras, but yes the prices have skyrocketed over the last few years. They used to be cheap. I suspect Olympus re-jigging the name as part of it's m4/3rds line of cameras with the lens adapters is what caused the jump.

-- One half frame I keep on idly looking at whenever I get the urge actually is the Yashica Samurai ...

I have a freezer drawer full. It's not bad film, particularly for €1.50
