    Why?
One of my first girlfriends quite literally would not leave the house till she'd spent about 2 hours putting on her war paint

I do believe one of my relatives may never have seen his wife without makeup. I don't judge her on it. White want to be brown. Brown want to be white. It's been same the way eternally.I believe in the harm principle for adults. (Except of course where some cosmetics may have been tested on animals. Then again so are many drugs. Hmm...an interesting dilemma. Perhaps for another thread).

I use a dating site and was once talking to a girl, who I thought was attractive and complimented her as such. She then told me how it was all shadows, makeup, and Photoshop. Photoshop?? She was being absolutely serious. She had use it to alter her photos and couldn't understand why I said this seemed slightly deceiving, asking whether I said the same about makeup. Told her makeup was one thing, but digitally altering your photos was another thing entirely.

Do many people do this?! I mean, do some guys? Do whole thing seems very.. misleading.

I guess the equivalent would be lying about your job, car or sticking a cucumber down your pants.

Guys lying about their height seems fairly common. Also their age, but I'd imagine there's plenty of women who do that too :)

I've also had guys message me using fake photos (reverse image search ftw!) and I've seen blatantly photoshopped photos (badly photoshopped, very badly :D).

    This.
Enough reason to keep the online dating thread going :D

Haha a friend of mine met her fella on plenty of fish. He swears blind he's 6 foot but when I wear heels, I'm towering over him, so he's no more than 5'8. But he insists he is.

I'm sure one of the posters will be along soon and fix your post to 6 inches.

I haven't seen this lip thing the OP is on about. But if it involves putting a lip liner outside the natural outline of your lips then that was a trend when I was a teenager in the 90's. It will be replaced by something else.

I cannot get my head around it at all.

Irish/UK women seem to be the worst for it, not a good look at all.

Well I haven't seen it at all so it's not like every Irish woman is doing it.

A girl I met swore blind that she was 5'11, but I was taller than her, and I always thought I was 5'11. Either I'm taller than I had ever thought or she is shorter than she thought. But now I've no idea how tall I am and can't be arsed checking.

Everyone's the same height when they're horizontal. Ooh la la.

Surely it depends on if they're fat or not?

Hey, whatever floats your boat. Or sinks it. :)

I mean, if you're lying down then your height becomes your length and your girth/width becomes your height.

Or else I'm putting far too much time thinking about this when I've other stuff I should be doing.

Or one where someone asks a question and the cackle gang don't show up to tell the presumably male OP that he's a sad sexless little man who is crap in bed for asking the question.

    Cackle gang? That's just nasty.

Yet these are fine and encouraged?
If they're faking the orgasms it probably means you're terrible in bed, and they just want you to roll off them and let them get a bit of kip.
    Right you are, Casanova.
Stupid ugly women! Not looking how I want them to!

    I'm so lonely.
But all these women are fooling me into wanting to have sex with them, then not wanting to have sex with me!

Fair enough. I could give a fig either way, but I do find such one way thinking fascinating.

The slagging (and we know that's what it was) was in return for this in the op:

Lately, I've noticed more and more women seem to do their lipstick in a fashion that either makes them look like they've had an allergic reaction to peanuts, or they are trying to do their best impression of the Joker in The Dark Knight?

Did you expect people not to react?

Calling them the cackle gang is out of order, but sure if you can justify it to yourself then go for it.

You're ignoring the post that provoked those responses:

And yet, they expect a "real man":rolleyes:

Up until that point the replies had been fairly serious. You expect women not to pull the piss when faced with this? If you dish it out you'd better expect to get it back.

Personally I think anyone that uses rolleyes in their posts deserves to be mocked in reply. Double rolleyes? You better believe they deserve it.

I didn't even see that. Seems that posters who react are in the wrong and deserve a snide little name, but the OP is grand.

I also think that people seem to missing out on the point that the OP has an "undercurrent" in his posts as well. A response has to be expected.

    I think I'm gonna appropriate it:D

The 'He doesn't date Irish women' post was in relation to the OP himself previously publicly declaring that his girlfriend is of another nationality. Other posters here seemed to get the reference.

It's funny, I don't wear much makeup, and I don't wear it often but I was looking at a photo of myself last night and it occurred to me how plain I look compared to some of my friends because they have usually several colours of cosmetics on their faces, eyeshadow/blush etc. and all I have is face colored face! A bare face is a bit out of the ordinary among my age group now.

Some girls do overdo it, but it's a trend and it'll die off soon enough like all other trends.

Its not even that, anyone is free to date whomever they please.
Its this snide swipes at women's appearance and looks(and generally Irish/Uk women)that have the cackle gang cackling ;)
